produced in accordance with the latest
technical standards and our quality assur-
ance programme which includes material
and function tests ensures that the final
product is of a high quality and durability.
Nevertheless these fans can be dangerous
if they are not used and installed correctly,
according to the instructions.
Betreiben Sie den Ventilator nur bestim-
mungsgemäß in den ange gebenen
Leistungsgrenzen (Typenschild) und mit
genehmigten Fördermedien!
The fan must only be used according to its
design parameters, with regard to perfor-
mance (type plate) and mediums pass-
ing through it!
Jegliche, von Rosenberg nicht auto-
risierte, Veränderung, An- oder Umbau-
ten, führen zum Verlust der Konformität
und der Gewährleistung.

3 Gültigkeitsbereich Scope
Der Gültigkeitsbereich der vorliegenden
Betriebsanleitung umfasst die folgenden
Ventilatorbauarten:
- Radialventilator mit Normmotor und
vorwärtsgekrümmten Laufrad
ERND ... Ex
- Radialventilator mit Normmotor und
rückwärtsgekrümmten Laufrad
EHND ... Ex
- Radialventilator mit freilaufendem Rad
und Normmotor
DKN_-W ... Ex, DKN_-B ... Ex
- Dachventilator mit Normmotor
DVN… Ex
This operating instruction is valid for the
following fan types:
- Radial fan with standard motor and
forward curved impeller
ERND … Ex
- Radial fan with standard motor and
backward curved impeller

4 Beschreibung Description
Ex-geschützte Hochleistungs-
Radialventilatoren wurden speziell für den
Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen
entwickelt.
Zum Antrieb werden Normmotoren einge-
setzt in der Schutzart IP 54/ Isolierstoff-
klasse B oder F in Flansch- bzw. Fußaus-
führung alternativ in Zündschutzart „eb“
nach EN 60079-7 mit Temperaturklasse T1
bis T3 oder „db / db eb“ nach EN 60079-1
mit T1-T4.
Motoren der Zündschutzart „eb“ sind
nicht mit Frequenzumrichter zu betrei-
ben.
Ventilatoren für T4 sind zwingend auch
mit Motoren nach T4 auszurüsten
Die Ventilatoren sind rechts- sowie linksdre-
hend lieferbar. Die Gehäuse (EHND, ERND)
können in 90 ° -Schritten verdreht werden.
Als Sonderausführung sind die kompletten
Ventilatoren in kunststoffbeschichteter Aus-
führung lieferbar.
Rosenberg Ventilatoren werden gemäß ISO
21940-11 statisch und dynamisch gewuch-
tet und sind zugeordnet nach BV2 bzw.
BV3 gemäß ISO 14694.
Die möglichen Berührungsflächen zwischen
rotierenden und feststehenden Bauteilen
bestehen aus Werkstoffen, bei denen die
Zündgefahr durch Reib- oder Schlagfunken
eingeschränkt ist.
Ex - protected high performance fans are
especially developed for the use in poten-
tially explosive atmospheres.
There are used standard motors with pro-
tection class IP 54/ insulation class B or F,
flanged model or leg – model either with
ignition protection „eb“ according to EN
60079-7 temperature class T1 to T3 or “db /
db eb” according EN 60079-1 with T1-T4.
Do not run motors in type of protection
„eb“with frequency-converters.
It is mandatory to use motors also with
temperature class T4 for fans marked
with T4.
The direction of rotation may be clockwise
or anticlockwise. The casing (EHND,
ERND) can be positioned at steps of 90 °.
As a special edition the complete fans may
be delivered epoxy coated.
Rosenberg fans are statically and dynami-
cally balanced according ISO 21940-11 an
correspond to BV2 and BV3 according ISO
14694.
Rotating and stationary components which
could come in contact are made of materi-
als that reduce danger of ignition and
friction sparks.
5 Einsatzbedingungen Condition of use
Die Motorstempeldaten für den
optimal gekühlten Motor sind auf das
Motortypenschild gedruckt und
Inhalt der
EG-Baumusterprüfbescheinigung.
Motor data for the optimally cooled
motor are listed on the data plate.
These data are content of the EC-
type examination certificate.
Bei nicht ausdrücklich freigegebe-
nen Einsatzbedingungen oder An-
wendungen übernimmt Rosenberg
Ventilatoren GmbH keinerlei Haftung
für daraus resultierende Schäden.
In any case of divergence from the
mentioned application or conditions
of use Rosenberg Ventilatoren
GmbH will not assume any liability
for resulting damages.
Die Mindestfrequenz von Ex db eb
Motoren bei Frequenzumrichterbe-
trieb beträgt 5Hz.
Operation of Ex db eb motors with
frequency converter below 5Hz is not
allowed.
Ex-geschützte Ventilatoren eignen sich zur
Förderung von:
- sauberer Luft
- leicht aggressiven Gasen und Dämpfen
(gegebenenfalls ist die Aggressivität zu

The temperature of the motor coolant has to
be between – 20 °C and + 40 °C.
X-Marking
Durch die X-Markierung in der ATEX-
Bezeichnung wird auf besondere Be-
dingungen für den sicheren Betrieb hinge-
wiesen. Im Einzelnen sind dies:
1. Es sind nur EG-Baumustergeprüfte
Motoren für Zone 1 zulässig.
2. Erhöhte Belastungen (FU-Betrieb, Nicht-
horizontale Welle, …) vermindern die
Lagerlebensdauer des Motors!
Generell sind die Lager nach 20.000 h
zu wechseln, bzw. nach Angaben des
Motorherstellers nachzuschmieren.
3. Die Motor-Leistung für Ex-Ventilatoren
Typ EHND/ERND ist auf 11 kW be-
schränkt.
4. Der Ventilator ist nicht gasdicht! Die
Aufstellung der Ventilatoren in Berei-
chen, die mehr als 1 Zone von der Zone
des geförderten Mediums abweichen ist
nicht zulässig.
Werden elektrische Bauteile in unmittel-
barer Umgebung verbaut (z.B. Geräte-
ausschalter) sind diese explosionsge-
schützt, entsprechend der Klassifizierung
des Ventilators auszuführen.
5. Wird der Ventilator unvollständig mon-
tiert bezogen ist derjenige für die Einhal-
tung der relevanten Richtlinien und Nor-
men zuständig, der den Ventilator be-
triebsbereit errichtet, z. B. den Motor
montiert, das Motorlüfterrad einbaut!
Es sind nur zugelassene Materialpaa-
rungen zu verwenden, die Spaltmaße
sind einzuhalten, die Lagerlebensdauer
von mindestens 20.000 h ist zu gewähr-
leisten!
The X-marking on the ATEX designation
shows that there are special operating con-
ditions which have to be noticed.
These are:
1. Use only motors with EC-type examina-
tion for zone 1.
2. Higher loads (e.g. usage of frequency
converter, non-horizontal shaft …) re-
duce the bearing lifetime of the motor!
Bearings have to be changed after
20.000 h or have to be regreased
according to the manufacturer of the
motor
3. The motor power for Ex-fans type
EHND/ ERND is limited on 11 kW.
4. The fan is not gastight! The place of
installation must not be more than one
zone difference to the zone of the con-
veyed medium .
Electrical devices which are installed
close to the fan (e.g. ON/OFF-Switch)
must be explosion proof according the
protection level of the motor.
5. Purchasing of uncompleted fans, e,g,
without motor, requires special care
from the person who completes the fan.
He is responsible for meeting the rele-
vant dirctives and standards. Use only
authorized material pairings; take care
of the gaps and the minimum bearing
lifetime of 20.000 h!

Es ist darauf zu achten, dass durch
neue, hinzugefügte Bauteile, die Ex-
Klassifizerung des Ventilators nicht ver-
mindert oder beeinträchtigt wird.
6. Im Förderstrom dürfen keinesfalls feste
oder flüssige Stoffe (z.B. Farbpartikel
aus Lackieranlagen, Eisenpartikel oder
Flugrost) enthalten sein, die sich auf
dem Motor oder in Spalten absetzen
können!
Gegebenfalls ist ein geeignetes Filter
(z.B. aus Synthetikfaser mindestens G4)
einzusetzen.
7. Insbesondere in Verbindung mit wasser-
stoffhaltiger Atmosphäre sind stat. Auf-
ladungen sicher zu verhindern (z. B. sind
Folienverpackungen stets außerhalb der
Ex-Zone zu entfernen), auch während
des Betriebs.

not reduce the explosion classification of
the fan.
6. There must be no case of any solid or
liquid materials (e.g. paint particles from
laquering equipment, iron particles or
rust film) in the air flow which may de-
pose on the motor or in gaps!
If necessary an appropriate filter has to
be used (e. g. out of synthetic material
at least G4)
7. Especially for gases containing hydro-
gen, electrostatic charges need to be
prevented (e. g. cover sheeting out of
plastic shall be removed out of the Ex
zone), also during operation.

Der Motorschutz ist nach Vorgabe des
Motorherstellers sicher zu stellen. Motor-
schutzschalter und Kaltleiterauslösegeräte
sind als Zubehör lieferbar.
Motor protection has to be ensured accord-
ing to the specifications of the motor manu-
facturer. Motor protection switches and
posistor tripping units are available as ac-
cessories
Die Förderung von bzw. Aufstellung
in explosionsfähiger Atmosphäre ist
mit Standardventilatoren verboten.
Insbesondere wird auf die Pflichten
des Betreibers durch die Atex-
Richtlinie 2014/34/EU hingewiesen.
Conveying explosive atmosphere or
installation in explosive atmosphere
is illegal with standard fans.
The demands of Atex guideline
2014/34/EU for the operator have to
be observed.
Ex- geschützte Rosenberg Ventilatoren sind
keine gebrauchsfertigen Produkte und dür-
fen erst betrieben werden, wenn sie in
Maschinen, lufttechnische Geräte oder An-
lagen eingebaut sind oder ihre Sicherheit
durch Berührungsschutzgitter (mindestens
IP 2X) oder sonstige bauliche Anlagen
sichergestellt ist!
Schutzgitter sind als Zubehör lieferbar.
Die Anforderungen aus DIN EN ISO 13857
und DIN EN ISO 12100 sind einzuhalten.
Ex protected Rosenberg fans are not ready
for use products and must only be used
after having been fitted to machines, venti-
lation devices or systems or after their safe-
ty has been ensured through the use of
protective guards (minimum IP2X) or other
construction devices.
Protection guards are available as accesso-
ries.
The requirements of DIN EN ISO 13857
and DIN EN ISO 12100 have to be met.
5.1 Max. Drehzahl Maximum speed
Bei Standard-Anwendung wird durch die
Polpaarzahl des Motors die max. Drehzahl
der Laufräder nicht erreicht.

5.2 Zubehör / Anbauteile Accessories / attachment parts
Durch die Zuordnung von Zubehör oder
Anbauteilen darf die Ex-Klassifizierung auf
dem Typenschild des Ventilators nicht ge-
mindert werden.
Eine durchgehende elektrisch leitende Ver-
bindung dieser Teile ist sicherzustellen.
Details hierzu enthält auch Montageanwei-
sung MV-09-33.
By usage of accessories or attachment
parts the Ex classification as shown on the
type plate of the fan shall not be reduced.
Ensure continuously conductive connection
of these components. For more detailed
information see also installation instruction
MV-09-33
Verwenden Sie nur von Rosenberg
Ventilatoren GmbH freigegebene Zubehör-
oder Ersatzteile.
Use only accessories or spare parts
authorized by Rosenberg Ventilatoren
GmbH.
Zubehörteile sind entsprechend den
Reinigungshinweisen des Ventilators
sauber zu halten.
Accessories should be also cleaned
regularly same as the fan.
Verwendung elektrischer Zubehörteile, wie
z. B. Klemmkasten, GS-Schalter oder
Motorschutzschaltgeräte unter Beachtung
der zutreffenden Vorschriften!
Usage of electrical accessories as terminal
box, on-/off switch or motor protection unit
in accordance to the applying regulations!
6 Lagerung, Transport Storage, Transport
- Lagern Sie den Ventilator in seiner
Originalverpackung trocken und wetter-
geschützt.
- Decken Sie offene Paletten mit Planen
ab und schützen Sie die Ventilatoren
vor Schmutzeinwirkung (z.B. Späne,
Steine, Draht usw.).
- Halten Sie Lagertemperaturen zwischen
- 20 °C und + 40 °C ein.
- Bei Lagerzeiträumen von über 1 Jahr
prüfen Sie vor der Montage die Leicht-
gängigkeit der Lager (Drehen mit der
Hand). Ebenso sind vor der Inbetrieb-
nahme die Spaltabstände von rotieren-
den Teilen zu überprüfen (Montage).
- Transportieren Sie den Ventilator mit
den geeigneten Lastaufnahmemitteln
(Gewicht: laut Ventilatortypenschild)
- Vermeiden Sie ein Verwinden des Ge-
häuses oder Laufradschaufeln und an-
dere Beschädigungen.
- Verwenden Sie geeignete Montage-
hilfen wie z.B. vorschriftsmäßige
Gerüste
- Store the fan on a dry place and
weather protected in its original
packing.
- Cover open palettes with a tarpaulin
and protect the fans against influence
of dirt
(i.e. stones, splinters, wires, etc.).
- Storage temperatures between
- 20 °C and + 40 °C.
- With storage times of more than 1
year please check the bearings on
soft running before mounting (turn
by hand). The gaps of the rotating
parts have to be checked also
(Installation).
- Transport the fan with suitable load-
ing means
(weight as signed on the type
plate).
- Avoid a distortion of casing or blades
or other damage.
- Use suitable assembling means as
e.g. scaffolds conforming to specifi-
cations.

Die Ansaug- und Ausblasöffnungen sind bei
Bedarf gegen das Hineinfallen oder Einsau-
gen von Fremdkörpern durch einen Schutz-
gitter nach DIN EN ISO 13857 zu sichern.
Der ausgepackte Ventilator ist auf Trans-
portschäden und lose Teile zu überprüfen.
Beschädigte Ventilatoren dürfen nicht mon-
tiert werden!
Prevent falling objects and foreign matter
from entering inlet and outlet opening of
the fan. The protection guards must be
certified to DIN EN ISO 13857.
The unpacked fan has to be checked for
transport damages and loose parts.
Damaged fans may not be installed!
Im Gefahrenbereich müssen alle leitfähigen
Teile an ein Potentialausgleichssystem an-
geschlossen werden!
In hazardous areas connect components
to a voltage equalizing system.
Für alle Ventilatoren gilt:
− Aufstellung im Außenbereich nur nach
ausdrücklichem Freigabe von Rosenberg
