1 Product Overview
The RG-NBS7000series switchesarenext-generationswitcheslaunched byRuijieindependently.The switch
comes intotwomodels:RG-NBS7006 andRG-NBS7006.
RG-NBS7006:The switchprovides twosupervisorengineslotsandsixline card slots.

The hardware system ofthe RG-NBS7006 switch includes thechassis,powersupplysystem,system modules
and heat dissipationsystem.
The powersupplysystem:The switchprovides fourpowersupplyslots and supports 1+1 and2+2 power
redundancy.You are advisedto configurepowersupplyredundancy.

System modules:Theswitch provides twosupervisorengineslots andsixlinecardslots.Theswitch
supports 1+1 supervisorengineredundancy.You are advised to configuresupervisorengineredundancy.

Caution
Ensurethe linecards andpower supplymodulesareremovedfrom thechassis beforeyoumove the
RG-NBS7006 chassis.
●Press the Reset button for no morethantwo seconds,and allmoduleswillbereset.
●Press the Reset button between two andfive seconds,and no configurationswillbechangedandno
modulewill be reset.
●Press the Reset button for over 5 seconds,andallmodules will be restoredto factorysettings with
configurationbackup saved.After restart,usethe defaultpasswordtologinto the Web management
system.You can selectResetBackup to restore previous configurations,orselectDelete Delete to
deleteprevious configurations.

The RG-NBS7006 switchadopts AC powerinput.
The RG-PA600I-FS modules areavailable.If you want to use a combinationofline cards whosepower
consumptionexceeds 600W, suchas sixM7000-16XS-EA modules,selecttwo powersupplymodules.
Note
The RG-NBS7006 switchsupports 1+1 and 2+2 powersupplyredundancy. You are advised to configure power
supplyredundancyto improve system stabilityandreliability.

1.1.6 Heat Dissipation
The workingtemperatureofthe RG-NBS7006 switchranges from 0to 50°C (32°Fto 122°F).The heat
dissipationdesign needs to ensurethe stability,safetyand maintainabilityof the switchinsuch environment.
The RG-NBS7006switchadopts fan ventilation andforced convection to ensurethe switchcan worknormally
in specifiedenvironment.

2 Modules
The RG-NBS7006switchadopts a modulardesign.Compliantwithindustrystandards,the designdivides
system modulesandintegrates moduleinterfaces toensure systemperfection andmoduleindependence.The
linecards provide 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet electricalports with auto-negotiation,100/1000Mbps SFP
(SMF/MMF) ports, and10GE SFP+ ports.
2.1 Modules
The modules intheguiderefers to linecards and supervisorengines.
2.1.1 Supervisor Engine
The supervisorengineofthe RG-NBS7006 switchhas the M7006-CMmodule.

The M7006-CM is the supervisorengineofthe RG-NBS7006 switchandsupports the managementand
switchingfunction.

The M7006-CM moduleprovides oneexternalport:
10/100Mbps MGMT port: 10/100BASE-T RJ45Ethernetport. You canusea network cableto connectthe
port with the Ethernetport of a computerto loadprograms.
Buttons
The M7006-CMmodule provides a Reset button (the reset buttonof the switch) for resetting theswitchsystem.
The Reset button supports shortpress and longpress.Theshortpress is nomorethantwo seconds andthe
longpress is over5 seconds.
Caution
●Press the Reset button for no morethan two seconds,andallmoduleswillbereset.
●Press the Reset button betweentwo andfive seconds,andnoconfigurationswillbechangedandno
modulewill be reset.
●Press the Reset button for over 5 seconds,andallmodules will berestoredtofactory settings with
