Thismotherboardhasfour184-pinRIMM socketsthatallowyou toinstall
PC600,PC700 and PC800 RDRAMup to2GB.AT30 will detectthe
RDRAMspeedautomaticallywhilesystemPOST,butit still allowsyou
selecttheRDRAMtypemanuallybyBIOSsetup program.

SetJumpers
Thedefault jumpersettingshave beensetforthecommon usage standard
ofthismainboard.Therefore,you do notneedtoresetjumpersunless you
requirespecialadjustmentsasanyoffollowingcases:
1. Clear CMOS
2. Make BIOS write protected
Forfirst-timeDIYsystembuilders,werecommend thatyou shouldnot
change thedefault jumpersettingsif you arenottotallyfamiliarwith
mainboardconfiguration procedures.Thefactory-setdefault settingsare
tunedforoptimumsystemperformance.Fortheadvanceduserswho wish
tocustomize theirsystem,section 3.2JumperSettingswill providethe
detailedinformation on howtoconfigureyourmainboardmanually.
Step4
Install InternalPeripheralsinSystemCase
Beforeyou install and connectthemainboardintoyoursystemcase,we
recommend thatyou firstassembleall theinternalperipheraldevicesinto
thecomputerhousing,includingbutnotlimitedtotheharddiskdrive (IDE/
HDD), floppydiskdrive (FDD), CD-ROMdrive,and ATXpowersupply
unit. Thiswill greatlyfacilitateinmakingtheconnection tothemainboard
describedbelow.
To install IDE&FDD drives,followthisprocedure:
1.Settherequiredjumperson eachdeviceaccordingtotheinstructions
providedbythemanufacturer.(IDEdevices,HDD and CD-ROM,must
have jumperson MasterorSlave modedependingon yourwillingto
install morethanonedeviceforeachkind.
2.ConnectIDEcableand FDD cabletothebackpaneloftheinternal
peripheraldevices.Notethatthecableshouldbeorientedwithits
coloredstripe(usuallyinredormagenta)connectedtopin#1 bothon
themainboardIDEorFDD connectorand on thedeviceaswell.
3.Connectanavailablepowercablethroughyoursystempowersupply
unit tothebackpanelofeachperipheraldevice.Notethatthepower
cableisdirectionaland cannotfit inif notproperlypositioned.

MounttheMainboardon theComputerChassis
1.You mayfind thattherearealotofdifferentmountingholepositions
bothon yourcomputerchassisand on themainboard.To choosea
correctmountinghole,thekey pointistokeepthebackpanelofthe
mainboardinaclosefit withyoursystemcase,asshownbelow.
2.Afterdecidingthepropermountingholes,position thestudsbetween
theframeofchassisand themainboard.Thestudsareusedtofixthe
mainboardand tokeepacertaindistancebetweenthesystemchassis
and themainboard,inordertoavoidanyelectricalshortbetweenthe
boardand themetalframeofchassis.(If yourcomputercaseisalready
equippedwithmountingstuds,you will needtotightenscrewsto
attachthemainboard.)
Note:Inmostcomputerhousings,you will beabletofind 4ormore
attachmentpointstoinstall mountingstudsand fixthe
mainboard.If therearen’tenoughmatchingholes,thenmake sure
toinstall atleast4mountingstudstoensureproperattachmentof
themainboard.
