CPUInstallation:
ThismainboardsupportsIntelPentium4/Celeron ,Socket478 seriesCPU.
PleasefollowthestepasbelowtofinishCPUinstallation.
BecarefulofCPUorientation whenyou plugit intoCPUsocket.
1.Pull up theCPUsocketleverand up to90-degree angle.
2.LocatePin1inthesocketand lookforablackdotorcutedge on theCPU
upperinterface.MatchPin1and cutedge,theninserttheCPUintothe
socket. CPUpin1and cutedge

90 degree

3.Press downtheCPUsocketleverand finishCPUinstallation.
Note:If you do notmatchtheCPUsocketPin1and CPUcutedge
well, it maydamage theCPU.
4.TheIntelPentium4/Celeron processorrequiresasetofheatsink/fanto
ensurepropercoolingoftheprocessor.If heatsink/fanhave notbeen
alreadybundledwithyourCPU, you mustpurchasetheheatsink/fan
separatelyand have it installed.Plugthecablethroughtheheatsink/fanin
theCPUfanpowerconnectorlocatednearby.Notethatthereareseveral
typesofCPUfanconnectors.Normally,if yourmainboardsupports
thebardwaremonitoringfunction,a3-pinfanpowerconnectorshould
allowyoursystemtodetecttheCPUfan'sspeed.TheCPUfancanalso
run witha2-pinfanpowerconnector,however,detection ofCPUfan's
speedisnotsupported.AnothertypeofCUPfanmayfeaturealarge 4-pin
fanpowerconnector,whichdoesnotsupportCPUfan'sspeeddetection
and mustbedirectlyconnectedtothesystem'spowersupplyunit.

Step2.
SetJumpers
Thedefault jumpersettingshave beensetforthecommon usage standardof
thismainboard.Therefore,you do notneedtoresetthejumpersunless you
requirespecialadjustmentsasanyofthefollowingcases:
1.ClearCMOS
2.BIOSWriteProtect
Forfirst-timeDIYsystembuilders,werecommend thatyou do notchange the
default jumpersettingsif you arenottotallyfamiliarwiththemainboard
configuration procedures.Thefactory-setdefault settingsaretunedforopti-
mumsystemperformance.Fortheadvanceduserswho wishtocustomize
theirsystem,section 3.2JumperSettingswill providedetailedinformation on
howtoconfigureyourmainboardmanually.
Step3
Install DDR SDRAMSystemMemory
To install memory,insertDDRSDRAMmemorymodule(s)inDIMM slot(s).
NotethatDDRSDRAMmodulesaredirectionaland will notgointheDIMM
slotsunless properlyoriented.Afterthemoduleisfullyinsertedintothe
DIMM slots,lift theclipsofbothsidesoftheDIMM slottolockthemodulein
place.

Install InternalPeripheralsinSystemCase
Beforeyou install and connectthemainboardintoyoursystemcase,we
recommend thatyou firstassembleall theinternalperipheraldevicesintothe
computerhousing,includingbutnotlimitedtotheharddiskdrive (IDE/
HDD), floppydiskdrive (FDD), CD-ROMdrive,and ATXpowersupplyunit.
Thiswill greatlyfacilitateinmakingtheconnectionstothemainboardde-
scribedbelow.
To install IDE&FDD drives,followthisprocedure:
1.Settherequiredjumperson eachdeviceaccordingtotheinstructions
providedbythemanufacturer.(IDEdevices,HDD, and CD-ROM,have to
setjumperstoMasterorSlave modedependingon whetheryou install
morethanonedeviceofeachkind.)
2.ConnectIDEcableand FDD cableon theback-paneloftheinternal
peripheraldevicestothecorrespondingheaderson board.Notethatthe
cableshouldbeorientedwithitscoloredstripe(usuallyredormagenta)
connectedtopin#1 bothon themainboardIDEorFDD connectorand on
thedeviceaswell.
3.Connectanavailablepowercablefromyoursystempowersupplyunit
totheback-panelofeachperipheraldevice.Notethatthepowercableis
directionaland cannotfit inif notproperlypositioned.

MounttheMainboardon theComputerChassis
1.You mayfind thattherearealotofdifferentmountingholepositions
bothon yourcomputerchassisand on themainboard.To choose
correctmountingholes,thekey pointistokeeptheback-panelofthe
mainboardinaclosefit withyoursystemcase,asshownbelow.
2.Afterdecidingon thepropermountingholes,position thestudsbetween
theframeofthechassisand themainboard.Thestudsareusedtofixthe
