IMPORTANT
Notes concerning alarm systems
Breakdowns, malfunctions or faulty settings may cause substantial damage and financial losses when regulat-
ing and controlling the climate in a livestock house. It is therefore essential to install a separate, independent
alarm system that monitors the house climate concurrently with the climate and production controller. According
to EU-directive No. 98/58/EU, an alarm system must be installed in all mechanically ventilated houses.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the product liability clause of general terms and conditions
of sale and delivery specifies that an alarm system must be installed.

1 Product description
An LPC fan is an energy efficient fan unit consisting of a PM motor
with matching motor control and opimised wing design for LPC
(Low Power Consumperion) and Dynamic MultiStep systems.
All variants of LPC fans are completed at the factory, so both the
motor and fan blade match the current application.
ON/OFF fans are constructed using a standard-dimensioned AC
motor, as well as an optimized blade design.
All ON/OFF fans are completed at the factory, so both the motor
and fan blade match the current application.
ECT/DCT fans are supplied with an integrated motor and fan
blades cast in aluminum. ECT/DCT fans are used as ON/OFF fans.
ECT fans can also be used as a Triac regulated fan.
The fan is designed for mounting in exhaust units and wall exhaustion in livestock houses where the ventilation
system operates in the low-pressure range, i.e. in LPV, diffuse livestock houses and Combi-Tunnel livestock
houses.
The fans bear a CE marking and have a sturdy four-point suspension.

3.2 Positioning of the fan in the exhaust unit
The connection box on the fan must face downwards when the fan is used as a wall exhaustion.
Mount the four fan suspensions using 6 x 25 screws in
the marked positions. Be careful not to over-tighten the
screws.
DA- fans must face the fan blades downward.
Position the legs of the fan in the four fan suspension
units.
Fasten all four fan supports using cable ties around the
fan suspension and rubber suspension.
ECT-/DCT fans must face the fan blades upward.
Position the legs of the fan in the four fan suspension
units.
Fasten all four fan supports using cable ties around the
fan suspension and rubber suspension.

3.3 Safety distance
If the distance from the floor to the fan blade is less than
270cm, mounting a protective mesh in the inlet bell
mouth may be required to meet the statutory require-
ments.
3.4 Mounting the motor controller
Incorrect mechanical mounting can result in overheating and reduced performance.
3.4.1 Position of motor controller/frequency converter
Motor controller/frequency converter must not be built-in
or covered and must be mounted on a solid, level sur-
face.
In order to uphold protection classifications, access and
cooling, the motor controller/frequency converter must
be positioned as shown in section Mounting distances
for the motor controller/frequency converter [}17].

3.4.2 Mounting distances for the motor controller/frequency converter
In order to ensure access of cables and cooling of the
motor controller/frequency converter, the distances to
the surroundings must be met.
3.4.3 Positioning of the motor controller
The motor controller is positioned so that the ambient
temperature is between - 40°C and + 50°C.
Mount the motor controller as close to the fan as possi-
ble.
The 2 m cable included must not be extended.
However, for the LPC fan 1x230 V, a motor cable 230 V
LPC 5 m can be ordered if the 2 m is not sufficient.
Mount the controller on a wooden plate fastened to a
rafter on the ceiling or directly on the chimney.

4 Installation guide
4.1 Electrical connection
Installation, servicing and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment must be carried out by quali-
fied personnel in compliance with the applicable national and international standard EN 60204-1
and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe.
The installation of a power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply to facilitate
voltage-free work on the electrical equipment. The power supply isolator is not included.
4.2 cUL
Overcurrent protection provide overload protection to avoid overheating of the cables in the installation. Over-
current protection must always be carried out according to local and national regulations. Suitable for use on a
circuit capable of delivering not more than 5,000 rms symmetrical amperes, 480volt maximum. Circuit breakers
must be designed for protection in a circuit capable of supplying a maximum of 10,000 Arms (symmetrical), 480
V maximum; or the value rated on the individual circuit breaker.
For UL Compliance Use the breakers or fuses listed below in the table to ensure compliance with UL or IEC
61800-5-1. Circuit breakers must be designed for protection in a circuit capable of supplying a maximum of
10,000 Arms (symmetrical), 480 V maximum. In the event of malfunction, failure to follow the protection recom-
mendation may result in damage to the drive / frequency converter. Circuit breaker must comply with UL 489.

4.3 Mains supply dimensioning relative to harmonic distortion
LPC motor controllers function like any other electronic power converter by converting AC to DC. As this conver-
sion produces a non-sinusoidal current, the mains supply for the motor controller is affected by harmonic distor-
tion.
