1.PRIOR INFORMATION
1.1.Field of application
The OXIMO40 drives are designed to drive all types of roller shutters.
The installer, who must be a motorisation and home automation professional, must ensure that the motorised product is
installed in accordance with the standards in force in the country in which it is installed such as EN 13659 relating to roller
shutters.
1.2.Liability
Before installing and using the drive, please read these instructions carefully.
In addition to the instructions provided in this guide, please also comply with the instructions provided in the attached Safety
instructions document.
The drive must be installed by a home motorisation and automation professional, in accordance with Somfy’s
instructions and the applicable regulations in the country of installation.
Any operation of the drive outside the field of application described above is prohibited. Such use, and any failure to comply
with the instructions given in this guide and in the attached Safety instructions document, absolves Somfy of any liability and
invalidates the warranty.
After installing the drive, the installer must inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for the drive
and must provide them with the operating and maintenance instructions, and the attached Safety instructions document.
Any After-Sales Service operation on the drive must be performed by a home motorisation and automation professional.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated equipment and
accessories. If in doubt when installing this product and/or to obtain additional information, contact a Somfy representative
or visit the website www.somfy.com.
2.INSTALLATION
WARNING
• These instructions are mandatory for the home motorisation and automation professional installing the drive.
• Comply with current standards and legislation in the country of installation.
CAUTION
• Never drop, knock or puncture the drive or immerse it in liquid.
• Install an individual control point for each drive.
NOTICE
Installation recommendations:
- The three components that make up the kit must be installed on the same side of the roller shutter:
3 Nm or 6 Nm OXIMO BASIC WF RTS drive, OXIMO BASIC WF SOLAR PANEL, OXIMO BASIC WF BATT 8 CELLS.
Or 10 Nm OXIMO BASIC WF RTS drive, OXIMO BASIC WF SOLAR PANEL, Oximo WireFree Battery.
- Minimum distance to be kept between two drives: 20 cm.
- Minimum distance to be kept between the drive and a control point: 30 cm.

2.1.Assembly
2.1.1.Preparing the drive
CAUTION
• OXIMO BASIC WF RTS : interior diameter of the tube has to be Ø37 mm or greater.
• The crown is mandatory.
1] Fit the accessories required to integrate the drive into the tube:
ð Fit the crown (a ) and the wheel (b ) to the drive.
2] Measure the length (L) between the inner edge of the drive head and the rim
of the wheel.

2.1.2.Preparing the tube
CAUTION
Install the drive in a tube with a minimum thickness of 0.5 mm and a smooth inner surface: with no welding, crimping,
folding, etc. inside the tube.
1] Cut the tube to the required length, depending on the motorised product.
2] Deburr the tube and remove the swarf.
3] For tubes which are smooth inside, cut a notch with the following
measurements:

2.1.3.Assembling the drive-tube
1] Slide the drive into the tube. For tubes with a smooth interior, position the cut
notch on the crown.
2] The wheel must be locked in place to prevent any movement in the tube.
•
This can be achieved by fastening the tube to the wheel using 4self-tapping screws, Ø 5 mm, or 4steel pop
rivets, Ø4.8mm, placed between 5mm and 15mm from the outer edge of the wheel, regardless of the tube.
CAUTION
The screws or pop rivets must only be fastened onto the wheel and not on the drive.

2.1.4.Installing the drive-tube assembly
CAUTION
The motorised product must not be compressed between the brackets.
1] If necessary, screw the bracket adapter to the drive head (e).
2] Assemble and fix the drive-tube assembly onto the end bracket (f) and onto
the drive bracket (g).

CAUTION
Ensure that the drive-tube assembly is secured onto the end bracket. This operation prevents the tube-drive
assembly from coming out of the end bracket attachment.
2.2.Wiring
WARNING
To ensure electrical safety, this Class III drive must be recharged by a «SELV» voltage source (Safety Extra Low
Voltage).
PRECAUTION
• Cables routed through a metal wall must be protected and insulated by sleeving or sheathing.
• Secure the cables to prevent any contact with moving parts.
• If the drive is used outdoors and if the power supply cable is of the H05-VVF type, run the cable in a UV-resistant
duct, e.g. trunking.
• The drive cable cannot be removed. If it is damaged, return the drive to the After-Sales department.
CAUTION
• Leave the drive power supply cable accessible: it must be easily replaceable.
• Always make a loop in the power supply cable to prevent water from entering the drive.
• The cables and connectors must be protected from the roller shutter movement.
• Somfy recommends placing the connectors behind the end piece and fixing the cables inside the roller shutter
casing.
2.2.1.Wiring of the 3 Nm or 6 Nm drive with OXIMO BASIC WF BATT 8 CELLS
1] Wire the male drive connector (j) to the female battery connector (k).
2] Wire the female drive connector (h) to the male solar panel connector (i).

2.3.Commissioning
NOTICE
Before commissioning, check that the drive is not in sleeping mode by pressing the Up or Down button. If the motorised
product does not react, the drive is in sleeping mode : wake it up referring to Putting in stand-by/Waking up the drive
[ } 10].

Identifying the steps to follow
The end limit setting depends on the type of roller shutter:
Step 1: Pre-programming the control point [}9]

2.3.1.Pre-programming the control point
1] Connect the drive to the battery (Wiring [}6]).
2] Press the Up and Down buttons simultaneously on the control point:
ð The motorised product moves up and down.
g The control point is pre-programmed.

2.3.2.Checking the direction of rotation
Press the Up button on the control point:
a] If the motorised product rises, the direction of rotation is correct: move onto

b] If the motorised product lowers, the direction of rotation is incorrect: move onto
the next step.

and down: The direction of rotation has been modified.

2.3.3.Setting the end limits
2.3.3.1. Automatic setting of the end limits
1] Press the Up and Down buttons on the control point simultaneously until the
motorised product moves up and down.
2] Press the my button until the motorised product moves up and down.

2.3.3.2. Setting the end limits in manual mode
NOTICE
The end limits can be set in any order.
1] Raise the motorised product to the desired upper position by pressing the Up
button.
2] Press the my and Down buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves.
ð The upper end limit is memorized.
3] Press the my button when the motorised product reaches the desired lower
position. If necessary, adjust the down position using the Up and Down
buttons.
4] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves.
ð The lower end limit is memorized. The motorised product rises and stops
in the upper position.
5] To confirm the end limits, press the my button until the motorised product
briefly moves up and down.
g The end limits are programmed.

2.3.3.3. Setting the end limits in semi-automatic mode
Setting the upper automatic and lower manual end limits
1] Lower the motorised product to the desired position by pressing the Down
button.
2] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously until the motorised product rises.
→The lower end limit is set.
3] Press the my button to stop the motorised product.
4] To confirm the end limits, press the my button until the motorised product briefly
moves up and down.
→The end limits are programmed.

Setting the upper manual and lower automatic end limits
1] Raise the motorised product to the desired upper position by pressing the Up
button.
2] Press the my and Down buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
lowers.
→The upper end limit is set.
3] Press the my button to stop the motorised product.
4] To confirm the end limits, press the my button until the motorised product briefly
moves up and down.
→The end limits are programmed.

2.3.4.Programming the control point
The drive is in programming mode:
1] Briefly press the PROG button on the control point to be programmed:
ð The motorised product moves up and down.
g The control point is programmed in the drive.

NOTICE
If the drive is no longer in programming mode, repeat Step Pre-programming the control point [ } 9] before performing
Step Programming the control point [ } 10].
2.3.5.Putting in stand-by/Waking up the drive
The drive can be put in stand-by mode (de-activated) during transportation or in prolonged storage.
This limits battery discharge and eliminates any risk of spurious use.
NOTICE
This function is possible:
- Either within 10 min of the control point being programmed.
- Or after disconnecting the battery for at least 20 s. and reconnect it.
When the motorised product is unpacked, follow the instructions to wake up (activate) the drive and make the
motorised product operational.

Press the Up, My and Down buttons on the control point simultaneously, until the motorised product briefly moves up and
down.
→The drive is "deactivated".
NOTICE
If the solar panel is connected, it must be covered to guarantee the drive is de-activated.
Activating the drive
When the motorised product is unpacked, if necessary (installation in the dark) illuminate the solar panel and press the Up
and Down buttons on the control point simultaneously, until the motorised product moves up and down.
→The drive is "activated" and the motorised product is operational.
2.3.6.Re-setting the end limits (for end limits set manually)
2.3.6.1. Readjusting the upper end limit
1] Press the Up button on the control point to move the motorised product to
the end limit to be readjusted.
2] Press the Up and Down buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves up and down.
3] Press the Up or Down button to move the motorised product to the new
desired position.
4] To confirm the new end limit, press the my button until the motorised
product moves up and down.

2.3.6.2. Readjusting the lower end limit
1] Press the Down button on the control point to move the motorised product
to the end limit to be readjusted.
2] Press the Up and Down buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves up and down.
3] Press the Up or Down button to move the motorised product to the new
desired position.
4] To confirm the new end limit, press the my button until the motorised
product moves up and down.

2.4.Tips and advice on installation
2.4.1.Questions about the product?
Observations Possible causes Solutions
The motorised product does not
operate.
The battery is discharged. See Protecting the battery against
excessive discharge [}15] and refer
to the battery instructions guide.
The wiring is incorrect. Check the wiring and modify it if
necessary, referring to Wiring [}6].
The control point battery is low. Check the battery and replace it as
required.
The control point is not compatible. Check the compatibility and replace the
control point if necessary.
The control point used has not been
programmed into the drive.

The motorised product does not

The solar panel is not plugged in. Check the wiring of the solar panel.
The solar panel doesn't capture enough

If an obstacle prevents the solar panel

remove it (protective film or
cardboard).
2.4.2.Replacing a lost or broken Somfy control point
NOTICE
This reset deletes all the local control points, although the sensors end limit settings and favourite position (my) are
retained.
A) If the drive is in stand-by mode (when unpacking the motorised product) a double cut-out needs to be performed at the
connection with the solar panel following the procedure below:
1] Disconnect the solar panel for 5 s then reconnect it.
2] Illuminate the solar panel for 15 s.
3] Disconnect the solar panel for 2 s.
4] Reconnect the solar panel for 5 to 15 s.
5] Disconnect the solar panel for 2 s.
6] Reconnect the solar panel: the motorised product moves for a few seconds. (If the
motorised product is in the upper or lower end limit, it makes a brief up and down
movement).
7] Press the PROG button on the new control point until the motorised product
moves up and down: the new control point is programmed and all the other control
points are deleted.

motorised product is in the upper or lower end limit, it makes a brief up and down
movement).
5] Press the PROG button on the new control point until the motorised product
moves up and down: the new control point is programmed and all the other control
points are deleted.

2.4.3.Restoring the original configuration
NOTICE
This reset deletes all control points, sensors, end limit settings and resets the drive’s favourite position (my).
1] Position the motorised product at the mid-height position (if possible).
2] Disconnect the battery for 10 s.
3] Reconnect the battery for 10 to 15 s.
4] Disconnect the battery for 10 s.
5] Reconnect the battery: the motorised product moves for a few seconds. (If
the motorised product is in the upper or lower end limit, it makes a brief up
and down movement).
6] Press the PROG button on the Somfy local control point for≈ 7 s, until the
motorised product moves up and down twice:
g The drive is reset to the original configuration.
Repeat the commissioning procedure (Refer to Commissioning [}7]).

3.USE AND MAINTENANCE
NOTICE
This drive does not require any maintenance operations.
3.1.Stop function
The motorised product is moving.
Briefly press my:
→The motorised product stops.
3.2.Up and Down buttons
Briefly pressing the Up or Down button causes the motorised product to rise or
lower fully.

3.3.Favourite position (my)
An intermediate position, which is called the “favourite position” (my) and is different from the upper and lower positions, is
programmed into the drive by default.
To use the favourite position (my):
Briefly press my:
→The motorised product starts to move and stops in the favourite position (my).
NOTICE
To modify or delete the favourite position (my), refer to Additional settings [ } 14].

3.4.1.Modifying the favourite position (my)
1] Place the motorised product in the desired favourite position (my).
2] Press the my button for ≈ 5 s until the motorised product moves up and
down:
g The desired favourite position (my) is programmed.

ð The motorised product starts to move and stops in the favourite position
(my).
2] Press my again until the motorised product moves:
g The favourite position (my) is deleted.

3.5.2.Obstacle detection
The automatic obstacle detection function protects the motorised product and enables obstacles to be cleared:

1] If the roller shutter apron comes up against an obstacle when moving down
then, depending on the position of the obstacle:
ð Either the roller shutter stops automatically.
ð Or it stops and is automatically raised.
2] If the roller shutter apron encounters an obstacle when moving upwards, the
roller shutter stops automatically.

3.5.3.Anti-freeze protection
The anti-freeze protection function operates in the same way as the obstacle detection function:
If the motorised product detects resistance, it stops automatically to protect the roller shutter apron: The roller shutter
remains in the initial position.
3.5.4.Protecting the battery against excessive discharge
Each time the drive receives an Up or Down command, it checks the battery voltage.
1] If the battery level is low:
ð When the Up button is pressed, the motorised product stops briefly during the rise.
ð When the Down button or my button is pressed, the motorised product does not perform the requested
operation but performs two brief movements in the same direction.
g These actions indicate a low battery level.
2] If the battery is discharged:
ð The motorised product does not operate.
NOTICE
Thanks to the solar panel, the battery voltage will rise, and the drive will resume normal operation.
However, there is an alternative solution to recharge the battery using the Somfy compatible external battery charger.
3.5.5.Replacing a lost or broken Somfy control point
To replace a lost or broken control point, contact a drive and home automation professional.

1.UVOD
1.1.Področje uporabe
Pogonski sistemi OXIMO40 so narejeni za poganjanje vseh vrst rolet.
Monter, ki mora biti strokovnjak za pogonske sisteme in hišno avtomatizacijo, mora zagotoviti, da je motorizirana naprava

Pred vsako namestitvijo preverite, ali je izdelek združljiv z ostalo priključeno opremo in dodatki. Če se med nameščanjem

2.NAMESTITEV
OPOZORILO
• Strokovnjak za pogonske sisteme in hišno avtomatizacijo, ki namešča pogon, mora ta navodila obvezno
upoštevati.
• Upoštevati je treba veljavne predpise in zakonodajo v državi namestitve.
POZOR
• Pogonski sistem ne sme nikoli pasti na tla, ni ga dovoljeno tresti, vrtati vanj ali ga potopiti v tekočine.
• Za vsak pogonski sistem namestite ločen upravljalnik.
OBVESTILO
Priporočila za namestitev:
– Tri komponente kompleta morajo biti nameščene na isto stran rolete:
pogonski sistem OXIMO BASIC WF RTS 3 Nm ali 6 Nm, OXIMO BASIC WF SOLAR PANEL, OXIMO BASIC WF BATT 8
CELLS.
ali pogonski sistem OXIMO BASIC WF RTS 10 Nm, OXIMO BASIC WF SOLAR PANEL, Oximo WireFree Battery.
– Najmanjša razdalja med dvema pogonskima sistemoma: 20 cm.
– Najmanjša razdalja med pogonskim sistemom in upravljalnikom: 30 cm.

2.1.Montaža
2.1.1.Priprava pogonskega sistema
POZOR
• OXIMO BASIC WF RTS : notranji premer cevi mora znašati Ø37 mm ali več.
• Obroč je obvezen.
1] Namestite dele, ki so potrebni za vgradnjo pogonskega sistema v cev:
ð Na pogonski sistem namestite obroč (a) in pogonsko kolo (b).
2] Izmerite dolžino (L) med notranjim robom pogonske glave in koncem
pogonskega kolesa.

2.1.2.Priprava cevi
POZOR
Namestite pogonski sistem v cev s premerom najmanj 0,5 mm in gladko notranjo površino: brez varjenja, stiskanja,
pregibanja itd. znotraj cevi.
1] Odrežite cev na želeno dolžino glede na motorizirano napravo.
2] Posnemite robove cevi in odstranite ostružke.
3] Pri gladkih ceveh naredite zarezo z naslednjimi merami:

2.1.3.Sestava sklopa pogonskega sistema in cevi
1] Pogon potisnite v cev. Gladke cevi morate namestiti, tako da je zareza na
obroču.
2] Kolo mora biti zablokirano, tako da preprečite pomikanje v cevi.

To lahko dosežete bodisi s pritrditvijo cevi na kolo s 4 kniping vijaki Ø 5 mm ali 4 jeklenimi slepimi kovicami Ø 4,8
mm, nameščenimi 5–15 mm od zunanjega roba kolesa, ne glede na vrsto cevi.
POZOR
Vijaki ali slepe kovice ne smejo biti nameščeni na pogonski sistem, temveč le na kolo.

2.1.4.Montaža sklopa cevi in pogonskega sistema
POZOR
Motorizirana naprava ne sme biti stisnjena med nosilci.
1] Po potrebi privijte adapter nosilca na glavo pogonskega sistema (e).
2] Namestite in pritrdite sklop pogonskega sistema in cevi na končni nosilec (f) in
nosilec pogonskega sistema (g).

POZOR
Preverite, da je sklop pogonskega sistema in cevi pritrjen na končni nosilec. S tem preprečite, da bi se sklop
pogonskega sistema in cevi iztaknil s priklopa končnega nosilca.
2.2.Ožičenje
OPOZORILO
Zaradi zagotavljanja električne varnosti mora ta pogonski sistem razreda III napajati varnostni vir zelo nizke
napetosti (“SELV”).
PREVIDNO
• Kabli, speljani skozi kovinsko steno, morajo biti zaščiteni in izolirani s plaščem ali obojko.
• Kable je treba pritrditi tako, da se ne morejo stikati s pomičnimi deli.
• Če pogonski sistem uporabljate na prostem in če je napajalni kabel tipa H05-VVF, morate kabel speljati skozi
kanal, ki je odporen na UV-žarke, kot je na primer kanal glavnega voda.
• Kabla pogonskega sistema ni mogoče odstraniti. Če se kabel poškoduje, pogonski sistem pošljite v servisni center.
POZOR
• Pustite prost dostop do napajalnega kabla pogonskega sistema: njegova zamenjava mora biti preprosta.
• Na napajalnem kablu vedno naredite upogib, da preprečite vdor vode v pogonski sistem.
• Kabli in konektorji morajo biti zaščiteni pred premikanjem rolet.
• Družba Somfy predlaga, da konektorje namestite za zaključnim delom in kable pritrdite na notranji strani rolet.
2.2.1.Ožičenje pogonskega sistema 3 Nm ali 6 Nm z akumulatorsko baterijo

1] Moški priključek pogonskega sistema (j) priključite na ženski priključek
akumulatorske baterije (k).
2] Ženski priključek pogonskega sistema (h) priključite na moški priključek
sončnega panela (i).
