1-3. Board Location1-2. Power Supply
In this system, the power is supplied to each device by the
AC adaptor connected to the PCS-PG70/PG70P.
Therefore, before repairing or replacing the parts, turn off
the power of the PCS-PG70/PG70P and disconnect the
power cord from the AC adaptor.
At the repair service, it is recommended to use the AC
adaptor or AC power cord that are supplied with the unit.

.Use the approved Power Cord (3-core mains lead)/
Appliance Connector/Plug with earthing-contacts that
conforms to the safety regulations of each country if
applicable.
.Use the Power Cord (3-core mains lead)/Appliance
Connector/Plug conforming to the proper ratings (Volt-
age, Ampere).

Removal
1. Remove the two screws (B3 x6), and remove the
upper panel assembly in the direction of the arrow.
2. Remove the seven screws (PSW3 x6), and lift the top
cover assembly.
3. Disconnect the harness from the connector CN109 on
the PS-686 board.
Installation
4. Reattach the top cover assembly in the reverse order of
steps 1 to 3.

Removal
1. Remove each screw from both the right and the left
sides, and remove each side panel in the direction of
the arrow.
2. Remove the two screws, and remove the lower panel
assembly in the direction of the arrow.
Installation
3. Reattach the side panels and the lower panel assembly
in the reverse order of steps 1 and 2.

Removal
1. Remove the upper panel assembly.
(Refer to step 1 in Section 1-4-1.)
2. Remove the front panel assembly in the direction of
the arrow.
3. Release the four hooks of the door assembly, and
remove the door assembly from the front panel
assembly.
Installation
4. Reattach the door assembly and the front panel
assembly in the reverse order of steps 2 and 3.
5. Reattach the upper panel assembly.

1-7. Unleaded Solder
Boards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with a
lead free mark (LF) indicating that the solder contains no
lead.
(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come
printed with the lead free mark due to their particular size.)

.Be sure to use the unleaded solder for the printed circuit
board printed with the lead free mark.
.The unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40 dC
higher than the ordinary solder, therefore, it is recom-
mended to use the soldering iron having a temperature
regulator.
.An ordinary soldering iron can be used but the iron tip
needs to be applied to the solder joint for a slightly
longer time. The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel
off if the heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful.

2-1. Replacement of Main Parts
2-1-1. DC Fan
Removal
1. Remove the top cover assembly.
(Refer to steps 1 to 3 in Section 1-4-1.)
2. Disconnect the harness of each DC fan from
the connectors (CN203 and CN204) on the
PS-686 board.
DC fan A: CN203
DC fan B: CN204
3. Remove the two screws (PSW3 x6), and
remove the fan bracket.
4. Remove the two screws (B3 x10), and
remove each DC fan.
Installation
5. Reattach each DC fan in the reverse order of
steps 2 to 4.

When attaching the DC fan, be sure to have
the right side and direction for the labels and
harness.
6. Reattach the top cover assembly.

2-1-2. Speaker
Removal
1. Remove the top cover assembly.
(Refer to steps 1 to 3 in Section 1-4-1.)
2. Disconnect the harness of the speaker from
the connector CN1205 on the DSP-113
board.
3. Remove the two screws (PSW3 x6), and
remove the speaker bracket.
4. Remove the two screws(B2.6 x5), and
remove the speaker.
Installation
5. Reattach the speaker in the reverse order of
steps 2 to 4.
6. Reattach the top cover assembly.
