1 About this product
1 About this product
The Lares product from Steelcase is subject to continuous
quality control during manufacture and distribution. This
ensures fault-free functionality.
Steelcase applies a quality management system that meets
the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001.
1.1 Intended use
The Lares product is exclusively designed to be used as office
furniture for commercial use. Any other use or use beyond the
specified intended use is considered improper use.
Intended use also includes following all instructions
in the quick guide.
1.1.1 Foreseeable misuse
Improper use of the product can result in dangers to life and
limb as well as property damage. For this reason, improper use
is prohibited. In the event of improper use, Steelcase assumes
no liability for any damage that could occur and does not
guarantee that the components will function properly.
Possible improper use includes:
■Use as a climbing aid
■Sit and stand on the desk
■Outdoor use
■Use in damp rooms

2 Product description
Lares is an ideal fit for today's adaptable workplace. With its
desks, benches and meeting tables, it allows for both col-
laboration and individual concentration – transforming any
space to meet people's needs throughout the day.
The Lares desking range provides the perfect balance
between design and technical functionality. It integrates a
breadth of finishes and organic shapes as part of its design,
offering a wide variety of customization possibilities through its
metal and mixed wood feet.

3 Transport and assembly
3 Transport and assembly
3.1 Checking the delivery contents
After unpacking, check the product immediately for damage
sustained during transport and for completeness; inform the
manufacturer of any damage as soon as possible.
3.2 Assembly
Please follow the provided assembly instructions to assemble
the Lares tables.
Steelcase recommends having the authorised dealer
or an assembly company assemble the desk.
Attaching accessories
Please follow the provided assembly instructions for attaching
accessories.

4 Operating and adjusting
4.1 Safety instructions
The Lares product should only be used and operated in
faultless condition and in compliance with the instructions in
the user guide.
DANGER
Risk of injury or damage to the desk!
}Attach or detach connectors only when the device is
de-energized.
}Do not earth electrical devices on the table frame.
}Rectify defects such as loose connections and
damaged cables immediately.
WARNING
Risk of injury or damage to the desk!
The desk may be unstable if parts or fasteners are not tight.
Make sure:
}This desk is regularly serviced.
}The desk is not used if damaged.
}Always grab the desk at the underframe to transport
or move it.
}Only spare parts are used that originate from the
manufacturer.

4 Operating and adjusting
WARNING
Risk of injury or damage to the desk!
}This desk can be used by children 8 years of age and
older, as well as by persons with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, if they are supervised, or have been
instructed in the safe use of the desk, and
understand the dangers associated with using the
desk.
}Children are not allowed to play with the device.
}Children are not allowed to carry out cleaning tasks
or user’s maintenance tasks.
4.2 Height adjustment
To compensate for uneven floors, you can raise each leg by up
to 15 mm with an adjusting screw.
For a desk that has already been set up, the following applies:
Before you carry out the height adjustment, remove any
objects that may be present from the desktop.
