Suitable and unsuitable installation locations Î1
A, B: OK,
C: not OK- air accumulation in the volume measuring section.
Installation at a high point only if a bleeding option exists.
No installation at a low point!
D: Only OK in closed systems
E: not OK- directly after a restriction or a reducing component
F: not OK- too close on the suction side of a pump
G: not OK- after a bypass loop in two levels
xObserve: Distance ≥ 50 cm between the computer unit and possible sources for
electromagnetic interference.
xIf there are several meters in one unit: Observe identical installation conditions!
When installing the volume measuring section in the shared outlet of two circuits:
Minimum distance from the junction (T-piece) 10 x DN.
Installation positions Î4
xhorizontal, vertical, at an angle,
xup to 45° upwards to the pipe axis
xand up to 90° downwards to the pipe axis.
Only install electronics housing upwards if high operating pressure and automatic ventila-
tors are used.
When installed in damp conditions, the meter must be installed rotated 45° to the pipe
axis.
!If possible, use the same installation method within one property!
xWe recommend using a strainer in front of the volume measuring section.
xShut-o valves must be installed in front of the strainer and behind the heat meter.
xRinse the conduit thoroughly before installing the meter – use the replacement pipe
section for the meter for this purpose.
xIf replacing a meter, be sure to clean the sealing surfaces of the screw connection.
Use new seals.
xOpen the shut-o devices and check their leak-tightness.
xEnsure that the ends of the sensors reach at least the middle of the pipe cross-section.
xAfter installation, test for leaks and perform a function check.
xThe meter starts measurement when flow occurs.
xDocument the commissioning.
Computer unit installation
The computer unit must be accessible at all times and readable without further aids.
Compact installation (standard)
Installation directly on the volume measuring section. The computer unit is sealed ex-
works.
Wall installation
Required for: medium temperature < 15°C / > 90°C • restricted readability
1Choose a dry, easily accessible place.
2Observe the cable lengths of the temperature sensors.
3Use the wall-mounting plate for marking the two 6 mm drill holes.
