Removal of Blower Assembly
1. Ensure power to the unit has been disconnected
prior to removal of the blower and capacitor.
2. Turn the main manual gas shut-off valve at the
unit to the OFF position.
3. Disconnect the gas supply piping at the inlet of
the gas valve.
Failure to disconnect electrical supply and
close the gas shut-off valve can cause severe
personal injury, death or substantial proper-
ty damage.
4. Disconnect the snap-set plug located on the bot-
tom right side of the windbox. Depress the tab and
grip the body of the snap-set to prevent damage to
the incoming wire leads when disconnecting.
5. Lift and remove the air inlet tube from the
blower housing flange. If necessary, disconnect
any air inlet piping connected to the unit prior to
removing the air inlet tube.
6. Dismount and remove the burner assembly from
the unit by removing the (2) 17mm mounting nuts
located to the left and right side of the windbox.
Care must be taken when removing the
burner assembly from the unit as not to dam-
age the mounting plate insulation or the pilot
assembly and pilot tube.
The service technician may remove the burn-
er control module from the top of the wind-
box to allow ease of removing the burner
assembly from the combustion chamber
Inspect and ensure pilot hood assembly is
free of damage. Replace as needed.
Inspect the burner plate insulation gasket. If
the burner plate insulation is damage or
show signs of deterioration, replace the insu-
lation gasket. Failure to replace a damage
insulation gasket can cause flue gas leakage
for the burner assembly, resulting in severe
personal injury or death
8. Remove the (4) mounting screws securing the
front cover plate of the windbox. Set the front
cover plate and screws aside.
9. Remove the mounting nut and washer to dis-
mount the capacitor from the windbox.

nals on the snap-set plug. These terminals are
located on the orange side of the snap-set
assembly.
12. Dismount the blower assembly from the wind-
box by removing the (4) mounting screws using

screws are tight and blower is secure.
3. Mount the new capacitor onto the windbox and
secure with the existing nut and washer.
4. Attach the wire leads to the snap-set terminals
as follows:
- Green blower lead to B4 terminal
- Tan blower lead to S3 terminal
- White capacitor lead to S3 terminal
- White capacitor lead to T2 terminal
- Black blower lead to T2 terminal
- Blue blower lead to T1 terminal
The snap-set terminal are arrange with B4 at
the top terminal followed by S3, then T2, and
finally T1.
5. Replace the snap-set cover plate and secure
with existing screws.
6. Replace the front cover plate of the windbox
and secure with the (4) existing screws.
7. Remount the burner assembly into the combus-
tion chamber. Use care not to damage the burn-
er mounting plate insulation, pilot gas tubing or
the spark ignition cable when inserting the
burner assembly into the combustion chamber.
Extreme care must be given when inserting
the burner assembly into the combustion
chamber to prevent damage to the insulation
gasket, pilot gas tubing and ignition cable.
8. Secure the burner assembly using the (2) 17mm
mounting nuts located to the left and right side
of the windbox.
Check the perimeter of the burner mounting
plate and ensure a seal exist between the
insulation gasket and the combustion cham-
ber opening.
Additional insulation on the tank body locat-
ed behind the blower assembly may need to
be remove to avoid interference.
9. Re-seat the combustion air inlet tube onto the
blower flange. Reconnect the air inlet piping to
the unit as needed.
