Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Gerät ist nur zum Einsatz im industriellen Bereich bestimmt.
Das Widerstandsmodul ist ein einfaches elektrisches Betriebsmittel nach
EN60079-14 und darf nur innerhalb des I/O-Systems excom für eigensichere
Stromkreise mit den zugelassenen Modulträgern MT… (PTB 00 ATEX 2194U
bzw. IECEx PTB 13.0040 U) eingesetzt werden.
Das Widerstandsmodul unterdrückt Fehlermeldungen bei excom-Ein-
gangsmodulen im explosionsgefährdeten Bereich.
Jede andere Verwendung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Für daraus
resultierende Schäden übernimmt Turck keine Haftung.
Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
■Nur fachlich geschultes Personal darf das Gerät montieren, installieren,
betreiben und instand halten.
■Die Geräte erfüllen ausschließlich die EMV-Anforderungen für den indus-
triellen Bereich und sind nicht zum Einsatz in Wohngebieten geeignet.
■Nur Geräte miteinander kombinieren, die durch ihre technischen Daten
für den gemeinsamen Einsatz geeignet sind.
Hinweise zum Ex-Schutz
■Bei Einsatz des Geräts in Ex-Kreisen muss der Anwender über Kenntnisse
im Explosionsschutz (EN60079-14 etc.) verfügen.
■Nationale und internationale Vorschriften für den Explosionsschutz
beachten.
■Gerät nur innerhalb der zulässigen Betriebs- und Umgebungsbedingun-
gen (siehe Technische Daten) einsetzen.

For your safety
Intended use
The device is designed only for use in industrial areas.
The device is classified as simple apparatus according to EN60079-14 and
may be used only as part of the excom I/O system for intrinsically safe
circuits with the approved module racks MT… (PTB 00 ATEX 2194U or IECEx
PTB 13.0040 U).
The resistor module suppresses error messages for excom input modules in
hazardous areas.
Any other use is not in accordance with the intended use. Turck accepts no
liability for any resulting damage.
General safety instructions
■The device must only be mounted, installed, operated and maintained by
trained and qualified personnel.
■The devices only meet the EMC requirements for industrial areas and are
not suitable for use in residential areas.
■Only combine devices if their technical data renders them suitable to be
used in a combined manner.
Notes on explosion protection
■When using the device in Ex circuits, the user must also have knowledge
of explosion protection (EN 60079-14, etc.).
■Observe national and international regulations for explosion protection.
■Use the device only within the permissible operating and ambient condi-
tions (see technical data).

Funktionen und Betriebsarten
Das Widerstandsmodul verhindert bei digitalen Eingangsmodulen Draht-
brucherkennung und Kurzschlusserkennung. Bei analogen Eingangsmodu-
len werden zusätzlich die Meldungen für Überlauf und Unterlauf unter-
drückt.
Das Modul kann mit den folgenden excom-Eingangsmodulen verwendet
werden:
■AIH401Ex
■AIH40Ex
■DF20Ex
■DI401Ex
■DI40Ex
■DM80Ex
In Verbindung mit dem Digitalmodul DM80Ex werden die Fehlermeldungen
von zwei benachbarten Kanälen verhindert.
Montieren
➤ Widerstandsmodul auf die Anschlussklemmen des Kanals stecken, dessen
Diagnosemeldungen unterdrückt werden sollen.
Betreiben
Das Widerstandsmodul kann während des laufenden Betriebs auf den
Modulträger gesteckt oder gezogen werden.
Reparieren
Das Gerät ist nicht zur Reparatur durch den Benutzer vorgesehen. Sollte das
Gerät defekt sein, nehmen Sie es außer Betrieb. Bei Rücksendung an Turck
beachten Sie unsere Rücknahmebedingungen.
Entsorgen
Die Geräte müssen fachgerecht entsorgt werden und gehören nicht in
den normalen Hausmüll.
Functions and operating modes
The resistor module prevents wire-break detection and short-circuit detec-
tion in digital input modules. For analog input modules, overflow and
underflow messages are also suppressed.
The module can be used with the following excom input modules:
■AIH401Ex
■AIH40Ex
■DF20Ex
■DI401Ex
■DI40Ex
■DM80Ex
In conjunction with the DM80Ex digital module, error messages for two
adjacent channels are suppressed.
Installing
➤ Plug the resistor module into the connection terminals of the channel for
which diagnostic messages are to be suppressed.
Operation
The resistor module can be plugged into or unplugged from the module
rack during operation.
Repair
The device is not intended for repair by the user. The device must be decom-
missioned if it is faulty. Observe our return acceptance conditions when
returning the device to Turck.
Disposal
The devices must be disposed of correctly and must not be included in
general household garbage.
