1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union
Important environmental information about this product
This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of
the device after its lifecycle could harm the environment. Do not
dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal waste; it
should be taken to a specializ ed company for recycling. This device
should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling
service. Respect the local environmental rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.
Thank you for choosing Velleman! Please read the manual thoroughly before
bringing this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, don't
install or use it and contact your dealer.
The PEM7D is a compact entry and approach warning system for use in
shops, reception areas, private homes, etc. The device consists of a
transmitting and receiving unit that transmits an invis ible, modulated beam
of IR light across e.g. a doorway, onto a prismatic reflector mounted across
from the transmitter. This reflects the beam back to the receiver to
complete the protection circuit. The beam is interrupted when a person
walks through it, caus ing the alarm to trigger and sound an audible warning.
The beam is produced by a LED, which has a much greater lifespan and is
les s sus ceptible to surge and vibration damage than a tungsten filament
lamp. The receiver is only sensitive to the frequency of the modulated light
in the beam.

•It is recommended to use this device indoors. Rain drops and
condensation may influence its op e r at io n .

Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force
when operating the device.
•Familiar ise yourself with the functions of the device before actually
using it.
•All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage
caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the
warranty.
•Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an
unauthoris ed way will void the warranty.
•Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not
covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept respons ibility for
any ensuing defects or problems.

5. Installation
1. Mount the included mounting bracket on a sidewall or another suitable
surface at ± 60 cm above the ground.
2. Note: make sure passers-by can not accidentally bump into it.
3. Attach the sensor [9] to the mounting bracket.
4. [A] Connect the sensor [9] to the speaker [3].
5. [B] Connect the speaker [3] to the mains using the included adapter
[2].
6. [C] Set the selector [4] to CHIME.
7. [D] Use the included screwdriver to set the timer and volume of the
speaker. Do not force or use any other screwdriver.
8. [E] Locate the best position for the reflector [8] by moving it against
the wall opposite the sensor until the chime stops and the red
alignment LED on the senor is on. Distance must be at least 50 cm and

maximum 7 m (depends on environmental conditions. Mount the
reflector in that location.
9. When applicable, connect the counter [6] (optional, not incl.) to the
output [5] using the 10 m cable that comes with the counter
(PEM7D/C).
6. Troubleshooting
When problems are encountered, refer to following overview before
contacting your local dealer:
•Check that the speaker is set to "CHIME" or "ALARM". "OFF" = silent.
•
Check that the timer and/or volume are not in the "min." position.
•A red LED indicates proper alignment of the sensor and reflector. If the
LED is not lit, realign sensor and reflector. Distance must be at least
50 cm.
•Make sure the adapter is firmly connected to the speaker.
•
Make sure the sensor is firmly connected to the input of the speaker.

1. Inleiding

Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het
na zijn levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan
toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele
batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij
een gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet
dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt
brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.

betreffende de verwijdering.
Dank u voor uw aankoop! Lees deze handleiding grondig voor u het toestel
in gebruik neemt. Werd het toestel beschadigd tijdens het transport,
installeer het dan niet en raadpleeg uw dealer.
De PEM7D is een compact waarschuwingssysteem voor gebruik in winkels,
receptieruimtes, bij u thuis, enz. Het toestel bestaat uit een zend- en
ontvangsteenheid die een onzichtbare, gemoduleerde IR-straal uitzendt bv.
voor een deur. Die straal wordt weerkaatst door een prismatische reflector
die tegenover de centrale eenheid is gemonteerd. De straal wordt
onderbroken wanneer een persoon erdoor loopt. Hierdoor treedt het alarm
in werking en weerklinkt een waarschuwingssignaal. De straal wordt
gecreëerd via een led, die een veel langere levensduur heeft en minder
gevoelig is voor stroomstoten en trillingen dan een lamp met wolframdraad.
De ontvanger is enkel gevoelig voor de frequentie van het gemoduleerde
licht in de straal.
Opmerkingen
•
Gebruik het toestel enkel binnenshuis. Regendruppels en condensatie
kunnen de werking beïnvloeden.
2. Veiligheidsinstructies
Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.

Er zijn geen door de gebruiker vervangbare onderdelen in dit
toestel. Voor onderhoud en/of reserveonderdelen, contacteer uw
dealer.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze
handleiding.
Bescherm het toestel tegen regen, vochtigheid en
opspattende vloeistoffen.
Bescherm dit toestel tegen stof en extreme temperaturen.
Bescherm tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de
bediening.
•Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat
gebruiken.
•Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen. Schade
door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt
niet onder de garantie.
•Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt
automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
•De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde
richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid
afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee
houden.

5. Installatie
1. Monteer de meegeleverde beugel op een zijwand of ander oppervlak
op een hoogte van ± 60 cm boven de grond.
2. Opmerking: Zorg dat voorbijgangers niet bij ongeluk tegen de sensor
kunnen aanlopen.
3. Bevestig de sensor [9] aan de beugel.

4. [A] Sluit de sensor [9] aan op de luidspreker [3].
5. [B] Sluit de luidspreker [3] aan op de netvoeding via de meegeleverde
adapter [2].
6. [C] Plaats de keuzeschakelaar [4] op CHIME.
7. [D] Stel de timer en het volume van de luidspreker in met behulp van
de meegeleverde schroevendraaier. Draai zonder forceren en gebruik
enkel de meegeleverde schroevendraaier.
8. [E] Plaats de reflector [8] tegen de zijwand rechtover de sensor en
verplaats hem lichtjes totdat het geluid stopt en de rode led op de
sensor brandt. Zorg voor een tussenafstand van minstens 50 cm en
maximaal 7 m (afhankelijk van de omstandigheden). Bevestig de
reflector op de zijwand.
9. Sluit indien gewenst de teller [6] (optie PEM7D/C, niet meegeleverd)
aan op de uitgang [5] met behulp van de kabel van de teller.
6. Probleemoplossing
Bij eventuele problemen, raadpleeg volgende mogelijkheden alvorens uw
verdeler te contacteren:
•Ga na of de luidspreker op CHIME of op ALARM staat. OFF =
uitgeschakeld.
•Ga na of de timer en/of het volume niet op de minimumstand staan.
•
De rode led geeft aan dat sensor en reflector goed op elkaar zijn
uitgelijnd. Indien de rode led niet brandt, moet u beide elementen
opnieuw uitlijnen. Zorg voor een tussenafstand van minimaal 50 cm.
•Sluit de stekker van de adapter goed aan op de luidspreker.
•
Sluit de sensor goed aan op de ingang van de luidspreker.

attentivement avant la mis e en service de l'appareil. Si l'appareil a été
endommagé pendant le transport, ne pas installer et consulter votre
revendeur.
Le PEM7D est un système d’avertissement compact pour usage dans des
magasins, réceptions d’entrepris es, habitations privées, etc. L’appareil
consiste en une unité d’émission et de réception qui émet un rayon IR
modulé invisible devant une embrasure de porte. Le rayon est reflété par un
catadioptre prismatique monté en face de l’unité centrale. Le rayon est
coupé par le passage de vos visiteurs ou clients , ce qui active l’alarme sous
forme d’un signal sonore. Le rayon est produit par une LED. Comparée à
une lampe à filament de tungstène, une LED est moins sujette aux

surtensions et aux vibratoins. Le récepteur n’est sensible qu’à la fréquence
de la lumière modulée du rayon.
Remarques
•
Utiliser cet appareil à l'intérieur. Des gouttes de pluie et la condensation
peuvent influencer le fonctionnement.
2. Consignes de sécurité
Garder votre appareil hors de la portée de jeunes enfants et de
personnes non qualifiées.
Il n’y a aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur. Commander des
pièces de rechange éventuelles chez votre revendeur.
3. Directives générales
Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman® en fin de ce
mode d'emploi.
Protéger de la pluie, de l’humidité et des projections d’eau.
Protéger contre la poussière et les températures extrêmes.
Protéger l’appareil des chocs. Traiter l'appareil avec
circonspection pendant l’opération.
•Se familiar iser avec le fonctionnement de l'appareil avant de l'utiliser.
•
Il est interdit de modifier l'appareil pour des raisons de sécurité. Les
dommages occasionnés par des modifications par le client ne tombent
pas sous la garantie.
•N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à s a fonction prévue. Un usage impropre annule
d'office la garantie.
•Les dommages occasionnés par des modifications à l'appareil par le
client, ne tombent pas sous la garantie et votre revendeur déclinera
toute responsabilité pour les problèmes et les défauts qui en résultent .
