OPERATION
1. Press the POWER button to turn the meter on.
2. Select the desired unit of measure (see the “Unit
of Measure” section).
3. Remove the protective light sensor cover. The
light sensor cover may be placed on the back of
the light sensor to prevent loss.
4. Place the light sensor directly under the light
source and take the desired measurements.
5. Replace the protective light sensor cover. While
the meter is not in use, always replace the
protective light sensor cover to prevent damage
to the sensor.
6. Press the POWER button to turn the meter off.
To preserve battery life, always turn the meter
off when not in use.
If no button is pressed for ten (10) minutes, the
meter will turn off automatically to preserve battery
life.
SELECTING UNIT OF MEASURE
1. Press the POWER button to turn the meter on.
2. Press LUX/FT-CD button. If the meter had been
displaying Lux (“Lux”), it will now display Foot-
Candles (“FT-CD”), and vice-versa. Each press
of the LUX/FT-CD button will change the unit of
measure.
The unit of measure selected will be the default
unit of measure until changed.
HOLD FUNCTION
The hold function allows the readings on the dis-
play to be “frozen” so that they may be recorded.
1. Press and release the HOLD button to “freeze”
the display at the current reading. “HOLD” will
appear at the bottom of the display.
2. Once the reading has been recorded, press and
release the HOLD button to return the display
to the current reading. “HOLD” will no longer
appear on the display.
DISPLAY MESSAGES
If the light source being measured exceeds the
measurement range of the meter, “ - - - -“ will ap-
pear on the display.
ALL OPERATION DIFFICULTIES
If this meter does not function properly for any
reason, replace the batteries with new, high quality
batteries (see the “Battery Replacement” section).
Low battery power can occasionally cause any
number of “apparent” operational difculties.
Replacing the batteries with new fresh batteries will
solve most difculties.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
An erratic display, faint display, no display, or a
battery symbol appearing on the
display are all indicators that the
batteries need to be replaced.
The battery cover is located at
the bottom of the unit. While
holding the unit upside down,
unscrew the battery cover by
turning it counter-clockwise.
Remove the exhausted batteries
and replace them with four (4)
new AAA alkaline batteries.
Make certain to insert the new
batteries with the proper polarity
as indicated by the “+” and “-“
symbols in the battery compart-
ment. Replace the battery cover
and tighten securely.

Installation
Before using this Thermometer, place your thumb on the ribbed area on the back of the unit and slide the battery cover off. Remove the
red tab so that the battery will make proper contact at the terminals. Replace the battery cover.

This item is intended for general laboratory use to monitor temperature and humidity.

Operation
1. Turn the thermometer on by inserting the battery. To insert the battery, slide the Battery door located on the back in the direction of
the arrow. Insert the battery as directed by the polarity symbols (+ and -). Replace the Battery Door.
