1.1 Information about this
operating manual
This operation manual allows you to work safely
with the Wöhler DM 2000 Digital Manometer.
Please keep this operating manual in a safe place
for future reference.
The Wöhler DM 2000 Digital Manometer should
be employed by professionals for its intended use
only.

Safety Warning!
You must be qualified to work on heat appliances and gas, oil or other fuel supplies. For
further instructions contact your local authorities before you start the job.
The constant flow of flue gases at the correct rate of
flow with the least possible variation is required for
safe and efficient combustion. Insufficient flue draft
will cause ignition difficulties and is likely to result in
fume emission and potential health risk. Too much
draft will make control of the fire difficult and may
result in overheating. In this instance, fitting a draft
stabiliser may be required. An appliance manufac-
turer will specify a range of flue draft conditions
under which their appliance will operate.
Choosing the correct place for
measuring
The correct place for measuring the chimney draft is
close to the appliance and at least 2 x flue-pipe
diameter above the spigot and 15 cm away from any
draft stabiliser. Some appliances include purpose
made flue draught test points for insertion of test
equipment sampling probes. Where no purpose-
made flue draught point is included a suitable point
will need to be provided adjacent to the appliance
outlet. In some instances, a draft measurement can
be taken by temporarily removing a sweeping ac-
cess cover and using a cone or plate with a hole in
the centre to prevent secondary air entry and to
enable the sampling probe to be inserted.
A flue draught reading should be taken before the
appliance is lit to identify any potential problems
which will result from down draught.

Procedure for Taking
Flue Draft Readings
The typical procedure when using a Wohler me-
chanical draft gauge is as follows:
7. Visually inspect the draft gauge for signs of
damage and/or defect.
8. Ignite a small amount of fuel in the appliance
and leave to burn for 20 minutes.
9. Turn on the unit and allow the display to stabi-
lise and settle to zero.
10.Connect the rubber hose to the negative con-
nector on the unit.
11.Connect the stainless steel probe to the end of
the rubber hose.
12.Insert metal sampling tube into test point pre-
venting secondary air entry.
13.Wait approximately 30 seconds for stabilisation
and then take a draught reading.
NOTE!
Atmospheric or weather conditions may cause in-
correct draft readings.
Depending upon the draft reading obtained, it may
be necessary to adjust the appliance air control
devices and/or the flue draft stabiliser (if fitted).
Any adjustment should be made in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions and the
draught reading should be retaken after each ad-
justment.
If acceptable draft conditions are not able to be
achieved, the appliance should be taken out of
service and where appropriate the HETAS Unsafe
Situations Procedure should be followed whilst the
fault is rectified. Refer to Unit HTU03K Section 8
for more details.

The meter has an internal temperature sensor. An
external temperature sensor can be connected to
the bottom of the meter, see accessories.
NOTE!
The temperature reading will not appear in the
display but only on the printout.
6Printing
The pressure and the temperature readings can
be printed on the Wöhler TD 100 Thermoprinter,
see accessories.
Switch on the printer.
Position the meter next to the printer, so that
the IR ports of meter and printer are opposite
to each other.
Start printing with a doubleclick on the oprea-
tion-button of the Wöhler DM 2000.

8Warranty and Service
8.1 Warranty
Each Wöhler DM 2000 will be tested in all func-
tions and will leave our factory only after extensive
quality control testing.
If used properly, the warranty period for the DM
2000 will be 12 month from the date of sale. Not
covered by the warranty are the batteries and the
costs for transport and package.
Service by non authorized personnel or making
modifications to the meter voids any warranty.
8.2 Service
We see SERVICE as a very important element in
our business. That is why we are still available to
you even after the guarantee period has expired.
An immediate repair will be carried out if you
bring your meter to one of our approved ser-
vice centers listed below.
