Yealink T42 Making an
Internal Call
Making an Internal Call
Dial the extension number via the alpha-numeric
keypad.
Press Send, OK, the Hash key, or lift your handset
to make the call.
The Call Status screen will display whom you are
ringing and your details.
OR
Lift your handset or press the Speaker button
Dial the extension via the alpha-numeric keypad.

Making an External Call
Dial the external number via the alpha-numeric
keypad. (You can dial as 10 digit or 1 + area code
for the external number)
Press Send, OK, the Hash key, or lift your handset
to make the call.
OR
Pressing the History Soft Key for the following:
All Calls
Missed Calls
Placed Calls
Received Calls
Forwarded Calls
Find the call required using the Navigation Keys
then press the Send Soft Key to make a call to that
number.

Answering a Call
The main screen will show the details of the caller.
Lift the handset or press the Speaker, Answer, or
OK buttons to answer the call.
OR
If you do not wish to answer the call press the
Reject Soft Key and the call will be passed to your
Forward on Busy number (if set), or to voicemail (if
enabled), or cancelled. (If your phone is busy or not
answered within 32 seconds (default) the caller will
be passed to voicemail, if enabled.)
Ending a Call
Replace your handset (if you are using the handset)
or press the Speaker button (if you are using hands
free).
OR
Press the End Call Soft Key.

Placing a Call on Hold
Press the Hold Soft Key. To retrieve the call, press
the Resume Soft Key that has now appeared in the
Hold Soft Keys spot.
Redial a Number
Press the Redial button, you will get a list of Placed
Calls displayed on the main screen.
Use the navigation keys to select the number you
wish to redial from this list or Navigate using your
left or right arrows to All Calls/Missed/Received/
Forwarded and then highlight the desired number
to Redial.
Press Send, OK, or Redial button to Redial the
Number.

Announced Transfer
Press the Transfer Soft Key.
Dial the internal or external number and wait for
the call to be answered and then announce the
intended transfer.
To transfer the original call, press the Transfer Soft
Key.
To return to the original call, press End Call Soft Key
and then the Resume Soft Key or wait for the
destination to hang up and then press the Resume
Soft Key.
Blind Transfer (un-announced transfer)
Press the Transfer Soft Key.
Dial the internal or external number
To complete the transfer, press the Transfer Soft
Key again.

Parking and Picking up a Call
To Park a Call
This facility allows a call to be held on the system
and picked up by any extension by using the Park
function.
Press the {Park} button in the Display.
Wait for the Park code {701-720}
Press the End Call Soft Key Hang up the Handset
To Pick up a call that was Parked
Push the corresponding {Park} button in the display
that matches the code provided {Park 701-705} EX.
Call parked on Park 701.
Or
Dial the Park Orbit number that was provided (701-
720) via the alpha-numeric keypad
Press Send, OK, or the Hash key to connect to the
caller.

Conferencing a Call
While on a call you can conference in other users to
your call, press the Conf Soft Key, enter the Extn
number of the user you wish to conference and
then press send.
When your new call is connected, you can swap
between calls by pressing the Swap Soft Key, or to
conference all parties press the Conf Soft Key.
To end the conference, press the End Call Soft Key.
To Call a Previous Caller Back
Press the History Soft Key for the following 5
options:
All Calls/Missed Calls/Placed Calls/Received Calls/
Forwarded Calls
Find the call required using the Navigation Keys
then press Send Soft Key to make a call to that
number.

Leaving a Voicemail Message for a Colleague
If the extension you are ringing is busy or is not
answered, you will be transferred to voicemail (if
enabled) and played your colleague’s greeting.
Leave your message.
Replace your handset (if you are using the
handset), or press the Speaker button (if you are
using hands free)
Transfer to colleague’s voicemail
Press the Transfer Soft Key.
Dial the internal number prefixed with a *VM i.e.
*86 200 if you wanted to transfer the call to Extn
200’s voicemail.
Press the Transfer Soft Key again to complete the
transfer.

Accessing your own Voicemail Messages -- The
message waiting indicator will display in your LCD
Window that you have a new voicemail, along with
the number of messages.
Press the Message (Envelope button).
Enter your password- default is 0000
NOTE – To skip the voicemail header and listen
directly to your messages, press 1, the header
(name, ext, #, date and time of the call) will be
skipped and the message plays immediately.
To check messages from another phone in the
office -- Dial *99 and press send, and then enter
your extension when prompted followed by # and
then enter your password when prompted.
To check messages from outside of the office --
Dial in to the auto attendant if enabled and when
the greeting answers, press the “*” key, the system
will ask you to enter your mailbox number, dial
your extension number and #, and then enter your
password when prompted.

Changing your Greeting
Press Message (Envelope Button) and enter your
passcode
Press 0 For Mailbox Options
Press 1 to record your unavailable greeting. You’ll
be prompted to record greeting and then will press
# when finished.
Options will then be announced:
Press 1 to Save the Message
Press 2 to Listen to the Message
Press 3 to Re-Record the Message
*NOTE – Remember to save your approved
recorded message to ensure it’s activated.

Directory – Save/Access your Contacts
DND – Sends calls directly to voicemail
Menu – Brings you to your settings
Send – Dials the number
Delete –Backspaces one number while dialing
Cancel – Cancels out of the action you started
Transfer – Transfers a call
Hold – Places a call on Hold
Resume – Takes a call off hold status
Conference – Initiates/completes a conference
Split – Splits a conference call apart
Manage – Manage the conference call
Far Mute – Mutes highlighted party
Remove – Removes highlighted party
Far Hold -Puts the highlighted party on hold
000 – Lists more options while on a call
End Call – Hangs up an active call
BXfer-Blind Transfer to another user
Back – Brings you back one screen
Reject – Transfers call to your voicemail or
forwarding condition
Hard Keys
Headset – Press this to use a headset
Mute – Makes it so people can’t hear you
Messages – Calls Voicemail
Hold – Places a call on Hold
Redial – Press twice to redial the last person you called
Transfer – Sends a call to third party
Speaker – Takes phone off hook
Bottom of Circle – Directory
Top of Circle- Call history
Center of Circle – Select/OK
X - Brings you back one screen
Volume – Lower or Higher the phone volume
