A.INITIALPROCEDURES
1. Insertthepowercordintothereceptacleattheback
ofthestation.
2. Plugthepowercordintoagroundedwallsocket.The
stationisprotectedagainstelectrostaticdischargeand
mustbegroundedforfullefficiency.

3.Be surethe powerswitch isOFFbeforeconnectingor
disconnectingthesolderingironcord.Failuretodoso
mayresultindamagetothecircuitboard.
4.Theunitisnowreadyforuse.
B.TEMPERATURECONTROL
1. Turn the power ON. LED indicator will light up
indicatingsystemisnowturned“On”.
2. To Increase the temperature, turn the Temperature
controlknobclockwise.TodecreaseSettemperature,
turntheTemperaturecontrolknobcounterclockwise.
3. TheLEDindicatorlampwilllightaREDlampwhenthe
system is heating up the tip to desired temperature.
UponreachingthesettemperaturetheLEDindicator
lampwouldstartblinking(switchingbetweenthecolor
redandgreen).Ablinkingindicatorlampsignifiesthe
desired tip temperature has been reached and
solderingmaystart.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. TipTemperature: Hightemperatureshortenstiplife
andmaycausethermalshocktocomponents.Alwaysuse
thelowestpossibletemperaturewhensoldering.
2. Cleaning: Alwayscleanthesolderingtipbeforeuseto
removeanyresidualsolderorfluxadheringtoit.
3. Afterusage:Alwayscleanthetipandcoatitwithfresh
solderafteruse.Thisguardsagainstoxidationandpro
longstiplife.
4. SystemCare:Neverallowtheunittostayidleathightem
peratureforextendedperiods.Utilizetheautomatedsleep
featuretoconserveenergy,prolongtipandheatingele
mentlife.Ifunitwillnotbeusedforlongperiodsitisad
visedtopowerdowntheunitandunplugfromthemains.
5. Inspectingandcleaningthetip:
◆Setthetemperatureto250
o
C.
◆Whenthetemperaturestabilizes,cleanthetipandcheckits
condition.Ifthetipisbadlywornordeformed,replaceit.
◆Ifthesolderplatedpartofthetipiscoveredwithblackox
ide,applyfreshsoldercontainingfluxandcleanthetip
again.Repeatuntilalltheoxideisremovedthencoatthe
tipwithfreshsolder.
◆Neverfilethetiptoremoveoxide.
◆Remainingoxidessuchastheyellowdiscolorationonthetip
shaftcanberemovedwithisopropylalcohol.
