Recessed wall luminaire - extended throw 24063
Notice to installer for 24 063:
1. See page 2 for specic product safety warnings.
2. BEGA luminaires may be damaged if connected to conduit systems containing water
- Article 300-5G of National Electric Code requires that “Conduits or raceways through
which moisture may contact energized live parts shall be sealed or plugged at either or
both ends”.
3. Luminaire is Non-IC rated. Insulation must be at least 3” from luminaire.
4. Suitable for installation in hollow wall construction or poured concrete construction.
5. Installation housing provided with (8) 1/2” trade size conduit holes.
6. Installation housing must be installed so that the front face is ush with the nished wall.
7. Suitable for wall applications only. (No ceiling and in-grade applications).
BB24063 - installation in hollow (stud) wall construction:
1. Install (2) slotted mounting brackets provided as shown in Figure #1, using the (4) self-tapping
M4 screws provided with installation kit.
2. Adjust the brackets (by loosening screws) so that the front face of the installation housing will
be ush with the nished wall surface after installation (see Figure #2).
3. Secure the mounting brackets to wood or metal horizontal blocking as shown in Figure #2.
4. Remove internal wiring cover plate by loosening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
5. Connect conduit to installation housing and pull wires for electrical connections to be made
later.
6. Replace internal wiring cover plate by evenly tightening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
7. Install wooden insert and nish wall.
BB24063 - installation in poured concrete construction:
1. Install (4) threaded M4 rods in the end caps of the installation housing, and hand tighten until
fully secure (see Figure #3).
2. Remove internal wiring cover plate by loosening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
3. Connect conduit to installation housing and pull wires for electrical connections to be made
later.
4. Replace internal wiring cover plate by evenly tightening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
5. Replace wooden insert into installation housing to protect during consturction.
6. Attach installation housing to form using (4) wing nuts provided so that the front face of the
installation housing will be ush with the nished surface (see Figure #4).
7. Pour concrete. NOTE: DO NOT PUMP OR DROP CONCRETE DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE
INSTALLATION HOUSING.
8. Remove the wing nuts from threaded rods before removing form.
24 063 Installation:
1. Remove wooden insert and debris from sealing surface.
2. Remove internal wiring cover plate by loosening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
3. Feed luminaire wires through rubber nipple in center of wiring cover plate, and make supply
wiring connections:
MAIN VOLTAGE SUPPLY WIRE TO BLACK DRIVER WIRE
NEUTRAL (COMMON) SUPPLY WIRE TO WHITE DRIVER WIRE
GREEN GROUND WIRE TO GREEN DRIVER WIRE
0-10V Dimming (if applicable):
DIMMING CONTROL WIRE (+) TO POSITIVE DRIVER DIM CONTROL WIRE
DIMMING CONTROL WIRE (-) TO NEGATIVE DRIVER DIM CONTROL WIRE.
4. Replace internal wiring cover plate by evenly tightening (4) M3 hex head captive screws.
5. Place a small bead of silicone between the edge of housing and wall to provide a seal.
6. Install sealed luminaire into installation housing and secure by evenly tightening (2) T10 torx
screws on front of luminaire to engage clamp system.

Maintenance:
Clean regularly with solvent-free cleaner
removing dirt and debris. Do not use high
pressure cleaners.
Replacement Parts
See label inside of xture for LED replacement
part number.
Consult factory for all other replacement
components.
