STEP 1 | Remove the factory plate
gusset located on the inside face of the
frame rails.
On the passenger side it is located
between the frame rail and the gas tank.
To access the bolts, the gas tank will be
lowered down slightly and swung towards
the driverside slightly.
Identify the bolt that will stay in place
to support the gas tank allow it to
swing towards the driverside as it is
lowered down. It is located above the rear
driveshaft.
If the vehicle has gas tank straps instead
of a skid plate, the method for lowering
the gas tank may differ. Be sure the gas
tank is supported with a oorjack.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO INSTALL THIS WITH
A FULL TANK OF GAS, BUT WE HIGHLY
RECOMMEND HAVING TH GAS TANK AS
CLOSE TO EMPY AS POSSIBLE.
Begin by unpacking all items and inspecting
for missing pieces or damage. If you have any
concerns, please contact the company the
product was purchased from. Extra hardware
may be included with the product.

STEP 2 | Place the oorjack under gas
tank and raise it so they are supporting
the gas tank.
We used two oorjacks for increased
stability,
If using only one oorjack for support,
center it under gastank parallel with bolt
directly in front of frame side control arm
mount.
STEP 3 | Use an 18mm socket to
remove the (3) bolts along the passenger
frame rail, and the (2) bolts securing the
skid to the front cross member.
STEP 4 | Use an 18mm socket to
remove the bolt securing the gas tank
skid located under the rear driveshaft.
Set all hardware off to the side for re-
installation.

STEP 5 | Ensure the bolt above the
rear drive shaft is secure, then carefully
lower the oorjack(s) allowing the gas
tank/skid to come down and swing to the
driverside slightly.
Drop it down until there is clearance
for the provided T25 tool to remove the
factory hardware.

STEP 7 | Use the oorjack to
lift the gas tank/skid plate back into
place, and loosely thread all the factory
hardware into place.
There are (6) factory bolts total to replace.
Once all hardware is threaded loosely,
secure all factory hardware for the gas
tank skid using an 18mm socket.
Torque all bolts to 59 ft-lbs.

STEP 8 | On the gas tank skid,
in front of the frame-side control arm
mount, there may be a lip that sticks out
from the tank. This will vary based on the
vehicle.
This will need to removed prior to
installation.
Mark a line similar to what is shown and
trim down the lip using the preferred
cutting tool. Use spray paint to cover any
exposed metal to prevent corrosion.
The goal is to remove the ared lip.
STEP 9 | Drill the two mounting holes
out using a 25/64” drill bit.

STEP 10 | Hook one side of the
ratchet strap to the shock mount, and the
opposite side of the strap to center hole in
the gas tank skid.
It will be parallel with the middle
mounting bolt for the gas tank skid on
the frame rail.
There should be a good amount of tension
on the strap, in order to release the load
from the control arm mounting bolt.
STEP 11 | Jack the vehicle off the
ground slightly using a oor jack.
The tire only needs to be raised slightly
to relieve tension on the control arm
mounting bolt.
Use jackstands as directed by OEM
manufacturer.

STEP 13 | When the ratchet strap is
tensioned correctly, the bolt should slide
out and back in fairly easily with a few
decent hits with a rubber mallet.
The bolt should be hammered until it is
ush with the mount.
TAKE EXTRA CAUTION NOT TO PUSH
BOLT OUT.
STEP 12 | Use a 24mm socket to
remove the nut securing the control arm
to the frame rail.

STEP 14 | Slide the bracket over the
mounting bolt for the control arm and let
it hang as low as possible while swinging
it around the opposite edge of the control
arm mount.
It should go into place with relative ease,
but may require some force to get it
seated on the mount properly.
STEP 15 | Swing the plate up to hug
the frame rails, and push the bolt back
through slightly, allowing the skid to hang
from the bolt.
If the bolt does not move freely, add more
tension to the strap or use a prybar on
the backside using the gastank skid for
leverage.
STEP 16 | Have a friend hold the
plate into place or use a jack/stand to
keep the two upper mounting holes
aligned.
One at a time, hold the provided spacer
and then push one bolt through to hold
the spacer. Repeat for the second bolt,
then slide the nut plate and hand thread
each hardware to the nut plate.
Note: An extra pair of hands to hold the
