INSTRUMENT OPERATION - The
instrument is switched on by pressing
the ON/OFF button located on the front
of the instrument. Insert the probe into
the substance being measured. The
instrument reading may take a few
seconds to stabilise, depending on the
nature of the measurement
MAX/MIN - Press the MAX/MIN button to
display the maximum reading (MAX symbol
displayed). Press the MAX/MIN button again
to display the minimum reading (MIN
symbol displayed). Press MAX/MIN button
again to return to normal readings.
Please note: MAX/MIN readings are not
saved so switching the thermometer off will
clear the MAX/MIN readings.
°C/°F - Hold the MAX/MIN button for four
seconds to switch between Centigrade
and Fahrenheit.
DISPLAY ROTATION - The display will
bi-directionally rotate automatically.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT - Replace
the batteries when ‘BAT’ flashes in the
display. The batteries are in the side of the
instrument. Remove the battery cover
with a coin turning anti clockwise and
remove the cover containing the batteries.
Replace with
two LR44
batteries. Insert
into the battery
cover before
fitting and
re-tightening
the battery
cover.
ERROR MESSAGES
LLL.L - 1) Sensor open circuit - the
instrument has developed a fault 2) The
reading is out of lower limit (-50 °C) -
Keep the measurement above lower limit
HHH.H - 1) Sensor short circuit – the
instrument has developed a fault 2) The
reading is out of higher limit (300 °C) -
Keep the measurement below higher limit
EMC/RFI - Instrument performance
may be affected if operated within a
high frequency radio field, such as near
a mobile phone, or if subjected to an
electrostatic shock.
