1Benutzerhinweise
Die Powerbox Typ CP-FB-TBOX-SUBD9 dient bestimmungsge-
mäß zur Ankopplung von CP-Stichleitungen bestehend aus CP-
Ventilinseln und ggf. CP-E/A-Modulen an CAN-Netzwerke. Die
Powerbox ist ausgelegt für CAN-Netzwerke, deren Pin-Bele-
gung dem CANopen Standard entspricht. Die Ankopplung von
CP-Stichleitungen ist nur möglich bei CAN-Mastern, die das
CP-Protokoll nach Spezifikationen von Festo beherrschen. Hier-
zu gehören z.B.:
–Festo IPC mit CAN-Bus-Modul CP81
–Jetter Prozess-SPS.
Die Anzahl der zulässigen Powerboxen für ein CAN-Netzwerk
sowie die max. zulässige Stichleitungslänge ist abhängig vom
Feldbusprotokoll und der Feldbusbaudrate.
WARNUNG:
Unsachgemäße Installation kann zu Störungen im Betrieb
führen. Prüfen Sie im Handbuch zu Ihrem CAN-Master:
- die max. zulässige Anzahl Stichleitungen für Ihr
CAN-Netzwerk
- die max. zulässige Anzahl der CP-Module je Stichleitung
und Netzwerk
- die max. zulässige Stichleitungslänge.

4Montage
Die Powerbox ist für die Montage auf einer ebenen Fläche vor-
gesehen. Zur Befestigung benötigen Sie eine Einbaufläche von
ca. 88 x 114 mm2. Maßangaben für die vier Gewindebohrungen
der Schraubengröße M4 zeigt die folgende Abbildung:

5Installation
WARNUNG:
Beachten Sie die folgenden Installationshinweise, um Störun-
gen durch elektromagnetische Einflüsse zu vermeiden.
–Schließen Sie einen Schutzleiter mit ausreichendem Leitungs-
querschnitt an den mit gekennzeichneten Erdungsan-
schluß an, wenn die Powerbox nicht auf einem geerdeten
Maschinengestell montiert ist.
–Fixieren Sie die Stecker mit Hilfe der Überwurfmutter, um un-
beabsichtigtes Lösen z.B. durch Erschütterungen zu vermei-
den.
5.1 CP-Module anschließen
WARNUNG:
Unsachgemäße Installation kann zu Fehlern beim Datenaus-
tausch zwischen dem CAN-Master und den angeschlosse-
nen CP-Modulen führen. Beachten Sie die max. zulässige
Stichleitungslänge sowie die max. zulässige Anzahl der CP-
Module je Stichleitung und Netzwerk.
Verwenden Sie zum Anschluß der CP-Module die speziellen
CP-Kabel von Festo (Typ KVI-CP-1-...).

5.2 Feldbus anschließen
Die Feldbusanschlüsse sind ausgelegt für CAN-Netzwerke, de-
ren Pin-Belegung dem CANopen Standard entspricht. Der An-
schluß IN (Stecker) dient als Zuleitung, der Anschluß OUT
(Buchse) dient als Weiterführung der Feldbusleitung. Nachfol-
gendes Bild zeigt die Pin-Belegung der Feldbusschnittstelle.
Alle Pins sind von IN nach OUT durchgeschleift.
Die Pins 2, 3 und 7 sind mit dem 5poligen Rundstecker M9 verbunden.

Befindet sich die Powerbox am Ende des Feldbusses, ist im
Stecker der abgehenden Feldbusleitung ein Abschlußwider-
stand (i. d. R. 120 Ohm, 0,25 Watt) zwischen CAN-L und
CAN-H zu installieren.
Empfehlung: Verwenden Sie folgende Sub-D-Stecker-/Buchsen-
gehäuse, um die Schutzart IP65 sicherzustellen:
- Buchsengehäuse Typ SD-SUB-BU9-GS-9
- Steckergehäuse Typ S-SUB-9-GS-9 (Abschlußwiderstand
wird zur eventuellen Verwendung mitgeliefert)

5.3 Anschließen der Betriebsspannung
WARNUNG:
Verwenden Sie nur Netzteile, die eine sichere elektrische
Trennung der Betriebsspannung nach IEC 742/EN 60742/
VDE 0551 mit mindestens 4 kV Isolationsfestigkeit gewährlei-
sten. Schaltnetzteile sind zulässig, wenn sie die sichere Tren-
nung im Sinne der EN 60950/VDE 0805 gewährleisten.
Über den Betriebsspannungsanschluß werden die angeschlos-
senen CP-Module mit DC + 24 V versorgt. Der Strombedarf ist
von der Anzahl und Art der angeschlossenen CP-Module ab-
hängig. Empfehlung:
•• Verwenden Sie ein geregeltes Netzteil.
•• Prüfen Sie bei der Auswahl des Netzteils, ob dieses ausrei-
chend viel Leistung zur Verfügung stellt. Berechnen Sie hier-
zu ggf. den gesamten Strombedarf der angeschlossenen
CP-Module (siehe folgende Tabelle).
•• Führen Sie die Lastspannungsversorgung für die Ventilspu-
len (Pin 2) über NOT-AUS.

1User instructions
Powerbox type CP-FB-TBOX-SUBD9 is designed for coupling
CP branch lines to CAN networks as laid down in regulations,
the branch lines consisting of CP valve terminals and, where
necessary, CP I/O modules. The Powerbox is designed for CAN
networks having a pin assignment conforming to the CANopen
standard. Coupling of CP branch lines is only possible with
CAN masters that support the CP protocol to the Festo specifi-
cations. These include:
–Festo IPC with CAN Bus Module CP81
–Jetter Process PLC.
The number of Powerboxes allowed for one CAN network and
the maximum branch line length permitted depends on the
fieldbus protocol and the fieldbus baud rate.
WARNING:
Incorrect installation can cause interference in operation.
Check the following in your CAN Master handbook:
- the max. number of branch lines for your
CAN network
- the max. number of CP modules allowed per branch line
and for the network
- the max. branch line length allowed.
Before installation:
WARNING:
Switch off the following power sources before commencing
installation and maintenance work:
- compressed air supply
- operating and load voltage supplies.

The Powerbox is intended to be mounted on an even surface,
of size approx. 88 x 114 mm2. Dimensions for the four tapped
holes to take M4-size screws are shown in the figure below:

5Installation
WARNING:
Please observe the following guidelines in order to avoid
interference due to electromagnetic influences.
–Connect a protective earth conductor (PE) of adequate cross-
section to the earth connection marked with the earth symbol
, if the Powerbox is not mounted on an earthed machine
frame.
–Fix the connector by means of the union nut to avoid it
coming loose accidentally (e.g. by vibration).
5.1 Connecting the CP module
WARNING:
Incorrect installation can lead to errors during data exchange
between the CAN master and the connected CP modules.
Observe the max. branch line length allowed and the max.
number of CP modules allowed per branch line and for the
network.
Use the special CP cable from Festo (Type KVI-CP-1-...) to
connect CP modules.

5.2 Connecting the fieldbus
Fieldbus connections are designed for CAN networks whose pin
assignment conforms to the CANopen standard. The IN con-
nection (plug) acts as the input and the OUT connection
(socket) extends the fieldbus line. The illustration below shows
the pin assignment for the fieldbus interface.
All pins connect through from IN to OUT.
The pins 2, 3 and 7 are linked by the 5-pole round connector M9.

If the Powerbox is at the end of the fieldbus, a terminating re-
sistor (normally 120 Ohm, 0.25 Watt) is to be fitted between
CAN-L and CAN-H in the plug of the outgoing fieldbus line.
Recommendation: Use the following series D subminiature plug
and socket housings to ensure IP65 protection class:
- socket housing type SD-SUB-BU9-GS-9
- plug housing type S-SUB-9-GS-9
(supplied with terminating resistor for use if required).

5.3 Connecting the operating voltage
WARNING:
Use only power supply units that guarantee reliable electrical
separation of the operating voltage to IEC 742/EN 60742/
VDE 0551 with an isolating resistance of at least 4 kV.
Switched-mode power supplies may be used if they guaran-
tee reliable separation as defined by EN 60950/VDE 0805.
The operating voltage connection provides connected CP mo-
dules with + 24 V DC. The current requirement depends on the
number and type of CP modules connected. The recommenda-
tion is:
•• Use a regulated power supply.
•• When selecting the power supply unit, check whether its
available power output is adequate by calculating the total
current demand of the connected CP modules (see following
table).
•• Run the load power supply for the valve solenoids (Pin 2)
via Emergency Stop.

1Instrucciones para el usuario
La Powerbox CP-FB-TBOX-SUBD9 está diseñada para acoplar
derivaciones CP a redes CAN tal como se establece en las
normas, consistiendo las líneas derivadas en terminales de vál-
vulas CP y, si fuera necesario, módulos CP de I/O. La Power-
box está diseñada para redes CAN que tengan una asignación
de pines según el estándar CAN. El acoplamiento de redes CP
en derivación solamente es posible con masters CAN que so-
porten el protocolo CP para las especificaciones de Festo. Este
incluye:
— IPC Festo con Módulo Bus CAN CP81
— PLC de proceso Jetter
El número de Powerboxs permitido para una red CAN y la lon-
gitud máxima permitida de un ramal, depende del protocolo del
bus de campo y de la velocidad de transmisión del bus.
ATENCIÓN:
Una instalación incorrecta puede ocasionar interferencias en
el funcionamiento.
Comprobar lo siguiente en el manual del master CAN:
- el número máximo de ramales en la red CAN
- el número máximo de módulos CP permitidos por ramal y
por red
- la longitud máxima permitida del ramal.
