1. General
The thermostatic and electronic
socket fusion unit MSE 63 is used
to weld PE, PP and PVDF pipes
and fittings up to 63 mm diameter.
Unintended usage must be
considered improper, hence Georg
Fischer declines any responsibility
for incidental malfunctions or
damages.
The welding process consists of
inserting the pipe into the fitting,
both of which are brought to the
correct temperature by a heating
element with bushings, without the
addition of filler material.
2. Preparation
•Before making the joint, it is
necessary to clean both the pipe
and the fitting using soft paper
towelling and alcohol.
•use the appropriate holding
devices (support and table
clamp);
•check the unit for good working
order and verify that there are no
damaged or loose parts;
•assure that the bushings are
properly tightened to the heating
plate and have no macroscopic
scratches.
3. The welding process
To use the thermostatic unit,
connect it to appropriate power
supply, set the heater temperature.
During heating up both LED white
and green are constantly ON. By
reaching the set point (around 260
°C), the green starts flashing.
To use the electronic unit, connect
it to appropriate power supply, set
the heater temperature. During
heating up both LED green and red
are constantly ON. By reaching the
set point (around 260 °C), the red
LED starts flashing. When
temperature has been reached, wait
approx. 10 minutes in order to allow
a proper heat distribution
throughout the unit.
1. Generalità
Il polifusore MSE 63, nella versione
termostatica ed elettronica, viene
utilizzato per saldare tubi e raccordi
in PE, PP e PVDF fino ad un
diametro massimo di 63 mm. Ogni
utilizzo diverso è da considerarsi
improprio e pertanto Georg Fischer
Omicron declina ogni responsabilità
da eventuali malfunzionamenti o
danni derivanti.
Il procedimento consiste nel
sovrapporre la parte interna del
raccordo (fitting) all’estremità
esterna del tubo senza l’aggiunta di
materiale d’apporto.
2. Preparazione alla saldatura
Prima di eseguire la saldatura è
necessario procedere ad una pulizia
accurata del tubo e del raccordo
utilizzando carta morbida ed alcool.
Per affrontare le successive fasi di
saldatura in condizioni ottimali, è
necessario osservare le seguenti
precauzioni:
•utilizzare i dispositivi di
bloccaggio (cavalletto o
morsetto) in modo da mantenere
il polifusore in posizione ferma
ed avere la possibilità di operare
con entrambe le mani;
•verificare preventivamente il
perfetto funzionamento
dell’apparecchio e assicurarsi
che non vi siano parti
danneggiate;
•assicurarsi che le bussole siano
accuratamente fissate, tramite le
apposite viti, alla piastra
riscaldante e che non presentino
graffiature macroscopiche.
3. Esecuzione della saldatura
Per un corretto utilizzo
dell'apparecchio procedere come
segue: collegare la spina
all'alimentazione (accensione delle
spie verde e rossa), impostare la
temperatura desiderata (260 °C
circa) tramite l’apposito pomolino di
regolazione ed attendere il
raggiungimento della temperatura
desiderata. Nella versione
elettronica, una volta raggiunta la
temperatura impostata, la spia

Muffenschweissen von
Kunststoffrohren, -Fittingen und -
Armaturen aus PE, PP, PVDF im
Dimensionsbereich von d 16–63
mm vorgesehen. Jeder darüber
hinausgehende Gebrauch gilt als
nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Für
hieraus resultierende Schäden
haftet der Hersteller nicht; das
Risiko hierfür trägt allein der
Anwender. Beim Heizelement-
Muffenschweissen werden
Rohrende und Fittingmuffe in der
Heizbuchse respektive auf dem
Heizstutzen erwärmt und
überlappend, ohne Verwendung von
Zusatzwerkstoffen, verschweisst.
2. Vorbereitungen
•Reinigen Sie das Rohr und den
Fitting mit weichem Papier und
Alkohol.:
•Verwenden Sie die geeigneten
Haltevorrichtungen
(Bodenständer oder
Tischklemmstück);
•Überprüfen Sie die
Gerätschaften auf
Funktionstüchtigkeit und
Schäden;
•Stellen Sie sicher, daß die
Heizstutzen und – buchsen auf
der Heizplatte fest montiert sind
und keine Kratzer im Bereich der
Schweissflächen aufweisen.
3. Schweissvorgang
Thermostatische Regelung:
Anschluss an die Stromversorgung,
Schweisstemperatur mittels
Einstellknopf (260 °C für PE, PP
und PVDF) am Heizelement
einstellen, die weisse und grüne
LED leuchtet konstant während des
Aufheizens, bei Erreichen der
Solltemperatur, blinkt die grüne
LED.
Elektronische Regelung:
Anschluss an die Stromversorgung,
Schweisstemperatur mittels

along the full length of the bushings
and keep them in this position for
the time indicated in the following
table.
Upon completion of the heating
time, remove pipe and fitting from
the element/bushings. Immediately
slide the pipe into the fitting, in
accordance with the insertion time
(dwell) as specified in the table
The weld is fully completed once
the welded areas are completely
cooled down (approx. one hour).

versione termostatica, una volta
raggiunta la temperatura impostata,
la spia verde si spegnerà. Per avere
una distribuzione uniforme della
temperatura nella piastra è
consigliabile attendere almeno 10
minuti dal raggiungimento della
temperatura.
Si può ora procedere alla saldatura
vera e propria introducendo
assialmente il tubo e il raccordo
sino alla battuta delle bussole. E’
necessario rimanere in questa
posizione per il tempo indicato nella
tabella seguente.
Trascorso il tempo di riscaldamento
sfilare tubo e raccordo dalle bussole
e, senza farli ruotare, introdurli
immediatamente l’uno all’interno
dell’altro osservando i tempi esposti
in tabella.
Sconnettere quindi l'apparecchio ed
attendere il necessario tempo di
raffreddamento.

Wir empfehlen, nach Erreichen der
Schweiss- Solltemperatur bis zur
gleichmässigen
Temperaturverteilung, mit dem
ersten Schweissvorgang ca. 10
Minuten zu warten.
Das Gerät ist nun einsatzbereit.
Nun das Rohr und den Fitting axial
komplett in die Buchse bzw. auf den
Stutzen schieben. Diese Position
entsprechend der Tabellenwerte
halten. Nach Ablauf der
Anwärmzeit, Rohr und Fitting von
den Heizelementen abziehen und
gleichförmig ineinander schieben,
beachten Sie dazu die
Tabellenwerte (Umstellzeit).
Die Verbindung vollständig
abkühlen lassen (1 Stunde).

4. Safety Instructions
The following safety precautions
should always be adhered to:
•assure that the power supply
conforms to the power
requirements of the unit;
•do not touch the unit with wet or
moist hands;
•do not pull at the electric cable to
unplug the unit;
•do not expose the unit to bad
weather conditions;
•do not permit unauthorized
personnel to work on or with the
unit;
•do not use the unit in the vicinity
of flammable liquids or gases;
•assure that there is no grease or
similar residue on the handle;
•always store the unit in a clean,
dry area;
•do not use the unit in very humid
areas, navy yards or areas
surrounded by metal masses.
•Repairs or modifications, like
changing the plug, should only
be made by a qualified
electrician. In general, the use of
adaptors, multiple outlet strips or
extension cords is not
recommended.
•It is recommended to completely
uncoil the power cable to prevent
possible overheating. Always
unplug the unit when not in use.
•Before attempting any
maintenance or replacing the
bushings, unplug the unit and
allow it to cool down completely
(approx. 60 min.).
•Relevant warning symbols are
applied in the proximity of the
heater plate to alert the operator
to the presence of high
temperature and current.
Spare parts and/or damaged
parts must be repaired or
supplied exclusively by the
original manufacturer or
authorized personnel.
Attenzione! I valori indicati nella
tabella devono essere intesi solo
come parametri-guida da rispettare
durante le fasi della saldatura.

4. Indicazioni per l’utilizzo in
condizioni di massima
sicurezza
Al fine di prevenire contatti
accidentali con la rete di
alimentazione elettrica o
malfunzionamenti di qualsiasi
genere è necessario osservare
scrupolosamente le seguenti
precauzioni:
•accertarsi preventivamente che
le caratteristiche elettriche
marcate nella targhetta del
polifusore corrispondano a
quelle dell’alimentazione;
•non toccare l’apparecchio con
mani umide o bagnate;
•non tirare il cavo di
alimentazione o l’apparecchio
stesso per estrarre la spina dalla
presa;
•non lasciare esposto
l’apparecchio ad agenti
atmosferici;
•non permettere l’utilizzo da parte
di persone non qualificate;
•non utilizzare l’apparecchio nelle
vicinanze di liquidi infiammabili o
gas;
•mantenere l’impugnatura priva di
olio, grasso o altre sostanze
scivolose;
•conservare l’apparecchio in
luoghi tali da garantirne sempre
la massima pulizia;
•non effettuare saldature in luoghi
conduttori ristretti, dotati di
notevole umidità, in cantieri
navali o in luoghi circondati da
masse metalliche;
•nel caso di incompatibilità tra la
presa di corrente elettrica e la
spina dell’apparecchio è
necessario far sostituire
quest’ultima con una più adatta
da personale professionalmente
qualificato
•evitare di lasciare l’apparecchio
inutilmente inserito alla presa
elettrica quando non viene
utilizzato.

4. Sicherheitshinweise
Bitte beachten Sie stets die
folgenden Hinweise:
•Verwenden Sie nur
Spannungsversorgungen die
den Geräteangaben
entsprechen
•Berühren Sie niemals das Gerät
mit feuchten oder nassen
Händen
•Ziehen Sie nicht am Netzkabel,
um das Gerät auszuschalten
•Schützen Sie das Gerät vor
Regen und Feuchtigkeit
•Nur autorisiertes Personal sollte
Zugang zum Gerät haben
•Kein Gebrauch des Gerätes in
der Nähe von leicht
entflammbaren Gasen oder
Flüssigkeiten
•Reinigen Sie das Gerät von Fett
oder Öl
•Lagern Sie das Gerät in
trockenen und sauberen
Räumen
•Arbeiten an der elektrischen
Ausrüstung, wie zum Beispiel
Tausch des Netzkabelsteckers,
nur von einer Elektrofachkraft
vornehmen lassen, Wir weisen
darauf hin, dass auf die
Verwendung von
Verlängerungskabel möglichst
verzichtet werden sollte. Kabel
von der Kabeltrommel komplett
abwickeln, um Erwärmung zu
vermeiden.
•Bei Nichtgebrauch das Gerät
immer vom Netz trennen.
•Vor jeglichen Wartungsarbeiten
oder Tausch von
Heizelementen, Gerät von der
Spannungsversorgung trennen
und komplett abkühlen lassen.
•Entsprechende Warnhinweise
(Strom, Hitze) sind am Gerät
angebracht, um den Anwender
auf die Risiken aufmerksam zu
machen.
•Nur original Ersatzteile und
Betriebsstoffe von Georg Fischer
verwenden
•Prima di effettuare qualsiasi
operazione di pulizia,
manutenzione e sostituzione
delle bussole, è necessario
disinserire il polifusore dalla rete
di alimentazione elettrica ed
attendere un opportuno tempo di
raffreddamento (60 min. circa).
•Per effettuare le operazioni di
pulizia e/o per raffreddare
l’apparecchio è assolutamente
vietato l’uso di acqua; al più si
potrà usare un panno umido per
detergere la piastra riscaldante.
•In prossimità della zona
riscaldante, onde avvertire
l’utilizzatore della situazione
pericolosa (presenza di elettricità
ed elevata temperatura), sono
apposti i relativi simboli.
•Ricambi e/o eventuali parti
danneggiate devono essere
riparate o sostituite
esclusivamente da un centro di
assistenza autorizzato o dal
costruttore stesso
