FEATURES
The ENT forehead mirrors are local lighting devices with luminous forehead mirror particularly useful to examine
the oral cavity, the nose and the ear.
These products are equipped with mirrors made of special enameled glass and are assembled on a practical helmet,
adjustable and adaptable to the operator’s head.
The following models are available:
CLAR mirror (cod.31132) Ø 100 mm
STORZ mirror (cod. 31135) Ø 55 mm
ADJUSTABLE STORZ mirror (cod. 31138) Ø 55 mm
The packaging includes a 6V bulb (cod. 31145) and a line cord.
To power the mirrors, GIMA delivers the power supply GIMA 6(cod. 31130). It delivers an output voltage
adjustable from 1,2V to 10 V CC 500 mA.
PRESCRIPTIONS
- The mirrors are very delicate and shall be handled carefully.
The product shall be used by qualified personnel only.
Do not use the equipment in case it is damaged. Apply to your retailer.
Avoid precarious repairs. Repairs shall be carried out with original spare parts only, which shall be
installed according to the intended use.
Broken bulbs or mirrors can cause injuries or cut. Carefully handle and immediately replace.
Since the product is made of corrosion-proof materials suitable for the enviromental conditions foreseen for its
normal use, does not require special care, however it is necessary to store it in a closed place making sure that is
protected from dust and dirt to assure its hygenic conditions. Moreover, it is recommended to store the product in
a place which can be reached easily by the personnel in case of necessity.
UNPACKING
Always remember that packing elements (paper, cellophane, stitches, adhesive tape, etc.) can cut and/
or hurt if they are not carefully handled.
They shall be removed with adequate means and shall not be left at the mercy of irresponsible persons;
the same is valid for tools used to remove packages (scissors, knives, etc.).
After opening the packages, first of all it is necessary to check all pieces and parts composing the product. Check
that they are all present and in perfect conditions.
INSTALLATION
- Before using the product, it is possible to adjust the helmet to the head size. To do this, make use of the apposite
adjusting screw located on the side allowing tightening or loosening the headbands.
- The assembly of mirrors is very simple: for models 31132 and 31135 it is enough to insert the supporting pin,
located on the back of the mirror, into the hole of the screw mechanism fixed on the headband front side.
Once the best position has been found, tighten the small knob D.
- For the model 31138, it will be sufficient to insert the ball located at the mirror support end into the apposite seat
on the headband front side and tighten the knob C.

OPERATION
To turn a ENT forehead mirror on, it is necessary to insert the pin jacks of the line cord into the feed clamps (+ and
-). Unscrew the clamps and insert the pin jacks horizontally, then screw down the clamp again.
It is advisable to use the power supply GIMA 6(cod. 31130), however it is possible to use power supplies from
other makes, on condition that they are provided with the same power, features and comply with the standards in
force. Maximum value permit is 5 V.
To vary the intensity of light on the subject under examination, it will be sufficient to adjust the distance of the
lamp from the mirror by means of rod A bearing the bulb. As far as models 31132 and 31135 concerns, this is
manually carried out. As to model 31138 the adjustment is carried out by turning knob B, located behind the
mirror.
To adjust the distance between the mirror and the operator’s eyes, seize the mirror edges and move it until the
desired position is found.
If the joint is too stiff or too shifting, turn the apposite knob C.
MAINTENANCE
The product has been conceived to last forever; it is resistant to most part of chemicals except for methyl ethyl
ketones (M.E.K.), diluents and nail polish removers.
- Handle the product with great care, avoid knocking the mirror, which could break and cause damages. Do not
touch the mirror with fingers or objects that could damage or soil it.
Do not use abrasive materials to clean the mirror, which could cause permanent damages.
- In case of broken bulb, lift the rod A (mod. 31132 and 31135) bearing the bulb and unscrew it delicately to
replace it with a new one (it is advisable to use only original spare bulbs GIMA, cod.31145).
- To replace the bulb of the model 31138, it is necessary to move the bulb as far as possible from the mirror by
means of knob B and delicately unscrew the bulb and draw it out of its seat.
Before removing the bulb, make sure that the instrument has been turned off for some minutes to avoid
the risk of burning.
- Cold clean the helmet with some disinfectant and a sponge.
Clean the mirror with an adequate detergent and a cotton cloth
GUARANTEE
Thank you for having acquired our product.
This product meets the most stringent requirements regarding the selection of quality manufacturing materials
and also the final control. The product has a 12-month warranty, valid from the date it is delivered by GIMA.
During the guarantee period free repair and/or replacement of any defective parts due to faulty manufacture will
be given, labour, postal, transport and packaging charges etc. are not included. The guarantee therefore excludes
components subject to wear and tear such as parts in rubber or PVC, doppler probes, SpO2sensors, lamps,
batteries, electrodes, handpieces, washers and packings, resistances, etc.
No compensation will be given for loss of use of the product.
Furthermore replacement or repairs effected during the guarantee period do not lengthen the duration of the
guarantee. This guarantee is void in the event of: repairs effected by unauthorised persons or with spare parts not
approved by GIMA, damage or defects caused by negligence, blows, abnormal use of the appliance or
faulty installation.
The guarantee will be invalidated if the registration number has been removed, cancelled or altered.
Faulty appliances must be returned only to the retailer where the item was bought. Any item dispatched directly
to us will be refused.
OPERATION
