FOR YOUR SAFETY
This manual contains important safety and operating instructions. Read this manual carefully before
using the charger for the first time and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
PRODUCT FEATURE
GYSTECH 7000 is designed for charging a variety of SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries, widely used in
cars and several other vehicles. The batteries may be of various types i.e. WET/Flooded (Liquid
Electrolyte), GEL (Gelatin type Electrolyte, absorbed into the plates), AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
batteries. Gystech :
- charges 12V batteries (6 cells of 2V) from 14 Ah to 130 Ah, or provides maintenance charge for
12V batteries from 14 to 230 Ah.
- charges 24V batteries (12 cells of 2V) from 14 Ah to 60 Ah, or provides maintenance charge for
24V batteries from 14 to 120 Ah.
It automatically detects the nominal voltage of the battery connected (12/24) (> 7.8 V).
SAFETY INFORMATION
-Do not use it for any other purposes
-Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable batteries
-Respect the rating of the fuse, which is indicated on the charger.
-Do not cover the charger while charging.
-The charger must be placed in such a way that the socket is accessible.
-Follow fuse size/type indicated on the charger.
-If the power supply cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales
department or by a qualified person in order to avoid danger.
-Before the charge, read the instructions. Disconnect the power supply before plugging or un-
plugging connexions on the battery. Warning : Explosive gas, avoid flames and sparks. Insure
a sufficient aeration while charging.
-Charging should be carried out in a well-ventilated, weather protected facility.
-Separate collection required. Do not throw in a domestic dustbin.
-This device can be used by children older than 8 and people with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capacities or without any experience, if they are properly supervised or if instructions to
use the device safely has been given and if the risks incurred have been understood. Children
must not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be done by
children with no supervision.
CONNECTIONS
Charging of a permanently installed battery in a vehicle
a- Before connecting or disconnecting the battery leads, the power cord should be removed from
the mains.
b- Check polarity of battery posts. A positive (“+”) battery post usually has a larger diameter than
a negative one.
c- Identify the pole of battery which is connected to the chassis (earth). Normally the negative
terminal is connected to the chassis.
d- Charging of negative earthed battery :
- Make sure the black wire (“-” pole connection) has no contact with the fuel line or the battery.
- Connect the red wire(“+”) to the positive (“+”) pole of the battery and the black wire (“-“) to
the vehicle chassis.
e- Charging of positive earthed battery :
- Make sure the red wire (“+” pole connection) has no contact with the fuel line or the battery.
- Connect the black wire(“-”) to the negative (“-”) pole of the battery and the red wire (“+“) to
the vehicle chassis

a- - Before connecting or disconnecting the battery leads, the power cord should be removed from
the mains.
b- Connect the red wire (“+”) to the positive (“+”) pole of the battery and the black wire (“-“) to
the negative (“-“) pole.
Permanent connection to the vehicle battery (cable with eyelet terminals = accessories n°15)
Warning : during the mounting, do not connect the charger to the cable with eyelet terminals.
a- Connect the red cable to the positive battery’s pole
b- Connect the black cable to the negative battery’s pole
c- Fix your cable to the vehicle chassis
Make sure that the cable is not being pinched or in contact with warm surfaces or sharp edges.
d- After this, the quick contact of the charger can be connected.
After charging, disconnect the battery charger from supply mains. Then remove the chassis
connection and the battery connection, in this order. In case of permanent connection to the
vehicle battery, first disconnect the battery charger from supply mains, then from the battery
connection.

At the beginning of the charging process, the charger begins functioning in the last operation mode
(except in the 13,6V/Supply mode or 16V Boost mode) and automatically checks the voltage of the
battery (12V/24V). Press on to select another mode between the charging modes which are
suggested in the following order :

CHARGING MODES
For 12V batteries
12V mode (+0°C)
The charger begins the charging process with a current intensity of 7A ±10%. The charging process
goes on by different stapes until to reach a voltage of 14.4V±0,25V. A maintenance current is then
delivered to maintain the battery fully charged up.
12V mode (-0°C)
The charger begins the charging process with a current intensity of 7A ±10%. The charging process
goes on by different stapes until to reach a voltage of 14.7V±0,25V. A maintenance current is then
delivered to maintain the battery fully charged up.
For 24V batteries
24V mode (+0°C)
The charger begins the charging process with a current intensity of 3,5A ±10%. The charging process
goes on by different stapes until to reach a voltage of 28.8V ±0,25V. A maintenance current is then
delivered to maintain the battery fully charged up.
24V mode (-0°C)
The charger begins the charging process with a current intensity of 3,5A ±10%. The charging process
goes on by different stapes until to reach a voltage of 29.4V ±0,25V. A maintenance current is then
delivered to maintain the battery fully charged up.
Charging process and indicators
Once connected to the battery and at the beginning of the charging process, Gystech 7000 will
automatically checks the voltage of the battery.

SPECIFIC MODES :
MODE RECOVER
This function is useful to « recover » most of the 12V batteries, from 14 to 230 AH, which started a
sulphating process (which occurs when a battery is maintained in a state of discharge during one day
or more). Before using this mode, it is compulsory to remove the battery from the vehicle.
130.ua — all for cars!
130.ua

10/33
With this mode, the charger provides a voltage of 16,5V ±0,2V with a limited current of 1,5A ±10%.
If the battery is deeply discharged (4,5V), the function will be active during 3 hours maximum. As
soon as the battery is accepting the charge, the charger will shift automatically to the charge mode :
the indicator “recover” blinks differently (0.5s ON / 1s off) and the charge indicators blink according to
the evolution of the charge.
MODE 13,6V/Max.
This function is useful to maintain the charging process during an extended period (for instance:
wintering) the 12V batteries, waterproof or without maintenance (SLA, VLRA, AGM, GEL) from 14 to
230Ah. It is particularly adapted for batteries which capacitance should always be at the maximum, as
for instance golf cars, power sweeper, or batteries used for emergency…
Select the mode by pressing , until the indicator 13,6V/Max lights. With this function, Gystech
7000 will start the maintenance charge with a constant voltage of 13,6V ±0,2V and with a limited
current of 5A ±10%. The protections anti-spark and against the overloads are activated.
MODE SUPPLY 5A.
This function changes your battery charger into a power supply (without any need to connect a
battery). The charger provides a voltage of 12V with a limited current of 5A±0,5A. With this mode, the
anti-spark system is disabled. However, the protection against the polarity reversal keeps active.
To choose this function, press 3 seconds on .
PROTECTION
Gystech 7000 charger is protected against short circuits and polarity inversion. Its anti-sparck system
avoids any spark while connecting the charger to the battery (inactive system with the supply mode).
The charger protects itself (charging interruption + indicator switched on if the battery voltage is
< 4,5V±0.5V for a 12V battery or < 16V±0.5V for a 24V battery).
Gystech 7000 charger is protected by a thermal sensor. During the charging process, if the charger
becomes too hot or due to extreme ambient temperature, the power output is automatically reduced
to protect itself from damage. Charger increases power automatically when the ambient temperature
drops.
PROBLEMS,CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS
In case of problem, the charger automatically switches on protection mode and the power
indicator lights on. The system will remain in that position until the user intervenes.
