Warranty stipulations concerning the scooter
In he following warran y and liabili y s ipula ions he erms and defini ions as summed up hereaf er mus be
explained as follows:
• Produc : The hand-opera ed or elec rical wheelchair or scoo er manufac ured and delivered by
Handicare.
• Cus omer: The person who direc ly ob ains a Produc from Handicare or an au horized represen a ive.
• Dealer: The person who delivers a Produc ob ained from Handicare o cus omers or hird par ies.
• User: The person who uses a Produc manufac ured by Handicare.
Irrespec ive of wha is de ermined concerning warran y condi ions applicable o he Produc , in any case he
following applies wi h regard o he warran y:
1. Excep insofar as described o herwise Handicare guaran ees he Produc for i s sui abili y for he purpose for
which he Produc is in ended - all of hese poin s as described in his manual - and for he quali y of he
ma erial of which he Produc is made and he manner in which he Produc is manufac ured.
2. Repairs or replacemen of par s of he Produc ha may be necessary as a resul of faul s ha are based on
quali a ively faul y ma erial or manufac uring errors will be execu ed free of charge, as long as such faul s
occurred wi hin one (1) year af er he da e of delivery of he Produc o he Cus omer. The par s o be
replaced mus be shipped pos -paid o Handicare. Disassembly or assembly of hese par s is for he
expense of he Cus omer. Therefore he following cases are no eligible for free repair or replacemen as
mean above:
- The repair or replacemen ha is necessary in connec ion wi h faul s ha arise af er one (1) year af er
he da e of delivery of he Produc o he Cus omer;
- The repair or replacemen ha is required in connec ion wi h faul s due o improper or careless use of
he Produc or ha are based on he Produc being used for ano her purpose han he one for which i is
in ended, in which regard i applies ha if he Cus omer is a Dealer, his Dealer will indemnify Handicare
agains possible claims from Users or o her hird par ies for faul s based on an incorrec or careless use
of he Produc ;
- Par s ha are subjec o wear, and he need for repair or replacemen of he par s are he ac ual
consequence of normal wear. These can include, bu are no limi ed o, ires, shrouds, arm-pads,
sea ings e c.
3. Irrespec ive of ha s ipula ed under 2, i applies as far as an elec ric Produc is concerned ha wi h regard o
he ba ery ha forms par of he Produc warran y is only given in case of faul s or non-func ioning of he
ba ery ha are demons rably he direc consequence of ma erial or manufac uring errors. A faul or non-
func ioning of he ba ery as a resul of normal wear is no covered by he warran y as mean in hese
warran y s ipula ions. Similarly no covered by he warran y are faul s or non-func ioning ha are he
consequence of improper or unprofessional use of he Produc or he ba ery ha is par of he Produc ,
including he incorrec charging of he ba ery and he failure o carry ou imely and good main enance, in
which con ex i also applies ha if he Cus omer is a Dealer, his Dealer will indemnify Handicare agains
possible claims from Users or o her hird par ies ha are based on he above men ioned improper or
unprofessional use of he Produc or he ba ery ha is par of he Produc . Handicare does no guaran ee
ba eries provided by dealers or purchased by he cus omer.
4. The warran y condi ions as men ioned in above s ipula ions in any case become null and void if:
- The guidelines of Handicare for he main enance of he Produc are no , or insufficien ly, followed;
- A necessary repair or replacemen of par s is based on neglec , damage or abuse of he Produc or a
use of he Produc for ano her purpose han he one for which i was in ended;
- Par s of he Produc are replaced by par s of ano her origin han hose which Handicare uses and/or
par s of he Produc are replaced wi hou he permission of Handicare.
5. The warran ies as men ioned in s ipula ions 1 hrough 3 also become null and void if wha is involved is re-
used by a new user wi hin he warran y period and ha such re-use necessi a es adap a ions o he produc
and hose adap a ions are carried ou wi hou he ins ruc ions and/or a he order of Handicare.
6. To re ain righ s under he above delinea ed warran ies he Cus omer mus , in case of damage or o her
calami ies, as rapidly as possible con ac Handicare and inform hem as fully as possible. The possibili y of
aking recourse o he above-men ioned warran y condi ions becomes null and void for he Cus omer in any
case af er 20 workdays af er he claim si ua ion or he calami y arises ha was he reason for he recourse o
he guaran ee.
7. The replacemen of a par or he repair or he recondi ioning of he Produc wi hin a curren warran y period
does no ex end he warran y period.
8. Handicare gives no warran y on repair o or recondi ioning of he Produc carried ou o her han under order
of and/or a he ins ruc ions of Handicare. If repairs and/or recondi ioning are execu ed by or on behalf of a
Cus omer, he Cus omer indemnifies Handicare wi h respec o he claims of hird par ies who resul , in he
broades sense of he word, from such repairs or recondi ioning.

Liability stipulations concerning the Product
Irrespec ive of wha is de ermined regarding liabili y in he general condi ions applicable o he Produc , wi h regard
o liabili y in any case he following applies:
1. aking in o considera ion he following s ipula ions, Handicare only accep s liabili y for loss due o dea h or
physical injury ha is he resul of a defec in he Produc for which Handicare is responsible and for damage
o ano her objec ha is he priva e proper y of he user of he Produc , as long as said loss is he direc
resul of a faul in he Produc .
2. Handicare accep s no o her or fur her liabili y han delinea ed under 1. In par icular Handicare accep s no
liabili y for consequen ial damage, in any form wha soever.

Used scooters and the environment
If your scoo er has become superfluous or needs o be replaced, i can usually be aken back by
your dealer. If his is no possible, please con ac your local au hori ies for he possibili ies of
recycling or an environmen ally friendly way of disposing of he used ma erials.
For he produc ion of he scoo er several plas ics and me als have been used. The scoo er also
con ains elec ronic componen s ha mus go o elec ronic was e. Used ba eries belong o
chemical was e.
Use according to purpose

The scoo er Winner was designed for:
• ranspor of persons wi h a weigh of up o 159 kg
• use on paved roads, sidewalks, foo ways, and bike-ways.
• use in and around he house
Your supplier should give you good user's ins ruc ions before you can independen ly opera e he produc and
par icipa e in raffic.
You mus be able o correc he consequences of ac ions while driving he Winner.
Consider opera ing he Winner scoo er under he moni oring of an experienced dealer during firs opera ions.
The Winner scoo er is no a mo orized vehicle in he raffic regula ions sense.
The Winner has a maximum speed of approxima ely 12 or 15 km/h (7 or 10 mph), depending on he model.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE WELL ACQUAINTED WITH THE CONTENTS OF THIS OWNER’S MANUAL
BEFORE DRIVING THE WINNER.
If you use he scoo er for o her purposes han hose for which i is in ended, Handicare accep s no liabili y
wha soever for damage or injury resul ing from such use o her han ha for which he scoo er was developed and
designed.
'Use according o purpose' as es ablished in EN 292-1 is he use for which he echnical produc is sui able according o he s a emen of he manufac urer, including his
ins ruc ions in he sales brochure. In case of doub his is he use ha follows from he cons ruc ion, execu ion and func ion of he produc . Use according o purpose also
includes aking in o considera ion he ins ruc ions in he owner's manual.

1 General safety regulations and instructions
Handicare accep s no liabili y wha soever for damage or injury caused by he failure o (s ric ly) adhere o he safe y
guidelines and ins ruc ions or else due o carelessness during he use and cleaning of he scoo er and possible
accessories. Depending on he specific work circums ances or he accessories used, addi ional safe y ins ruc ions
may be required. Please con ac your dealer immedia ely if you observe a po en ial danger during he use of he
produc .
The user of the scooter (see under 'use according to purpose') is at all times fully responsible for
the fulfillment of the locally applicable safety regulations and guidelines.
1.1 Decals and instructions on the scooter
Signs, symbols and ins ruc ions placed on his scoo er comprise par of i s safe y facili ies. They mus never be
covered or removed and mus remain presen and clearly legible hroughou he en ire life span of he scoo er.
Immedia ely replace or repair illegible or damaged signs, symbols and ins ruc ions. Con ac your dealer wi h regard
o his.
1.2 Technical specifications
The echnical specifica ions may no be changed.
1.3 Modifications
Modifica ion of (par s of) his produc is no permi ed.
1.4 Safety
To avoid acciden s and undesirable si ua ions, i is of grea impor ance o pay a en ion o he following safe y
ins ruc ions.
• Pay extra attention to riding on slopes:
- Never drive the Winner up a slope ith an angle greater than 10°.
- On slopes al ays drive slo ly and ith a areness.
- Never drive do n a slope at full speed.
- Do not drive do n slopes ith loose gravel or a sandy surface, because one of the back
heels might slip.
- Do not turn on a slope.
• Never take curves at full speed. Decrease speed on the approach and on the curve.
• Be sure that no items of clothing hang loose. These could become caught bet een the heels.
• Make sure your fingers do not get caught in the mechanism of the steering adjustment.
• Adjust your driving according to the circumstances:
- Drive carefully on slippery roads, resulting from rain, ice, or sno !
- Drive more slo ly in cro ded environments.
- Do not use the scooter on uneven roads.
- Avoid the Winner from coming into contact ith sea ater. Sea ater is caustic and may
damage the scooter.
- Avoid the Winner from coming into contact ith sand. Sand can affect the moving parts of the
scooter, resulting in unnecessarily rapid ear.
• Never operate the scooter hen you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication that
could affect your driving ability.
• You must have sufficient visual acuity to be able to drive safely in the scooter.
• You are obliged to put the lights on hen the vie is hindered.
• Only use the indicator lights to indicate an intended change in driving direction.
• Only use the horn hen it is necessary to arn pedestrians of other road users of dangerous
circumstances.
• Never place metal parts on top of the batteries: this may cause a short in the batteries, resulting
in damage.
• Do not take along any passengers: your scooter as specifically designed to transport only
yourself.
• Do not burden your scooter ith any more load than can be placed in the basket.
• Never hang anything from the handlebars.

• Never use your scooter to pull a cart: the scooter as not designed for this. Any ay, it is
prohibited to do so. You might seriously damage your scooter if you do.
• Do not use the footplate as a step.
• Do not place your feet close to the front heel and the front fork. Al ays keep your feet on the
rubber mat, rather than against the front cover.
• The scooter is electronically operated. Certain parameters have been factory-set. These settings
guarantee a comfortable and efficient use. It is not permitted to change these parameters.
• The standard version of your scooter as tested according to the strictest EMC requirements.
Mobile telephones have no influence on the driving behaviour of the scooter.
When using a mobile telephone in the vicinity of a scooter ith special adaptations, you are
advised to first s itch off the scooter.
• Your scooter may influence electromagnetic fields such as alarm systems.
• If the electronics of the scooter is not properly screened off, this may affect sensitive electrical
appliances, such as shop alarms and garage openers. The scooter has been tested for this.
Should any problems of this nature occur, please report these to your supplier immediately.
• Take care in ultra-violet light: this may cause premature deterioration of materials such as rubber,
plastic, and enamel.
• Watch out for protruding parts: these may damage your scooter or the environment.
• Keep your scooter a ay from open flames.

2.1 Seat adjustments
The Winner sea offers a number of adjus men op ions o increase he si ing and driving comfor .
The following may be adjus ed:
A. Sea heigh and dep h
B. Backres
C. Lower-back res
D. Arm-res s

2.1.1 Adjusting the seat height and depth
The whole sea may be adjus ed as follows:
• 10 cm in heigh
• 10 cm in forward direc ion
Bo h adjus men s should be made by he dealer.
2.1.2 Bac rest adjustment
• See fig. 000000140.
The backres is con inuously adjus able, from a fully horizon al o a fully
ver ical posi ion.
The adjus men mus be done as follows:
• Pull up he handle (A) while you are on he sea .
The backres will now au oma ically move forward.
• Press he backres backward by leaning back o a posi ion ha is mos
comfor able for you.
• Af er adjus men , push he handle down o secure he backres in he
posi ion you have chosen.
Attention:
Do not operate the handle if the seat is unoccupied, because the backrest ill come for ard
very po erfully.
The backrest must be adjusted in such a ay that your back is properly supported hile driving.
If the backrest is tilted too far back ards, this ill negatively influence the seating stability,
especially on slopes.
2.1.3 Lower-bac rest adjustment
• See fig. 000000150.
The lower-backres can be adjus ed o various posi ions, varying from more or
less suppor in he lower-back area.
The adjus men mus be done as follows:
• Sea yourself on he sea .
• Turn knob (A) in such a way ha he lower-backres reaches he mos
op imal posi ion for you.

2.1.4 Adjusting the arm-rest

Bo h armres s can be folded up comple ely. The heigh and he angle of he
armres can be adjus ed.
The adjus men mus be done as follows:
• Turn wheel (A) o adjus he heigh and he angle of he arm-res .
Attention: if the position of the backrest is adjusted, the
position of the
Armrests ill change along ith it.
2.1.5 Adjusting the headrest (option)
The headres can be adjus ed as follows:
• Three heigh adjus men s
• Til ing forward and back
Adjus ing he heigh of he headres
The headres can be pulled up by hand, and will lock in o one of hree posi ions by means of a click.
Til ing he headres :
The headres can be il ed by hand un il he desired posi ion is reached.
2.2 Adjusting the steering column
• See fig. 000000130.
The s eering column can be adjus ed as follows:
• Pull up handle (A) wi h one hand, while a he same ime pulling he
s eering column owards you wi h he o her, un il he mos comfor able
posi ion is reached.
• Release he handle in he chosen posi ion. Then, release he s eering
column.
If you release he s eering column while s ill holding up he handle, he gas-
spring-loaded s eering column will move o i s mos forward posi ion.
Use caution hen adjusting the steering column, to avoid
getting your fingers jammed.
