Chapter 1 Introduction to the DS-PF-E0204 Series Energizer
1.1 Product Overview
As a kind of perimeter barrier prevention alarm system, Electric Fence is a
"visible" alarm system that introduces the latest international alarm concept of
"Barrier-based supplemented by the alarm." Erecting electronic barriers in the walls
or on the ground adds obstacles to the system, improves the intruder’s difficulty in
crossing the wall, thus making it difficult for outsiders to invade and people inside to
escape from the wall, which is of strong security. Electronic fence effectively
combines the alarm system with the alert system to achieve the purpose of
defense-based supplemented by alarm. With a non-fatal high-voltage pulse, the fence
has triple functions of deterrence (reduce the desire to commit crimes), block
(produce intrusion barriers) and alarm (sound and light alarm that can be linked to
other security systems) to overcome AC power’s disadvantages of fatalness and
affecting esthetics. In contrast to traditional infrared, microwave, electrostatic
induction and other perimeter security systems, the product has the advantages of low
false alarm rate, no restriction of terrain and environment, high security, etc. It has
been widely used in substation, China Mobile, Telecom and Unicom base stations,
factory, Residential areas, schools, villas, warehouses, airports, military bases,
detention centers, prisons and other places.
Electric Fence is mainly composed of energizer and front-end fence. The
energizer can be installed in an outdoor waterproof box, a guard room or control
center, a front-end fence can be installed on the wall and the place in need of
intrusion prevention. After powering on, the energizer will send the high-voltage or
low voltage pulse generated to the front-end fence, then send it back to the
receiving end of the energizer through conductor to form a loop. If someone is
invading, damaging the front-end fence or cutting off the power supply, the
energizer will alarm and transmit the alarm signal to the control equipment and
other security equipment.Central controller and management software are usually configured in the system
to achieve the front-end fence arming and disarming, voltage regulation, electronic
map linkage alarm display and other functions.

1.2 Functional characteristics

1.3 Working principle
Electronic fence system is usually composed of energizer and front-end fence,
which can be linked to closed-circuit CCTV monitoring, Internet transmission,
virtual matrix and integrated monitoring software. The front-end fence contains a
physical barrier and a dedicated electronic fence. The physical barrier can be a
fence, an electrified barbed wire, etc. Its role is to prevent people in the public area
from inadvertently touching the charged fence line. The charged fence line is
made up of security post, knighthead, anti-corrosion conductor, insulator, warning
signs and other components. High-voltage energizer is not only the basis for the
front-end fence to generate electric high-voltage pulse, but also the core of the
system to output high-voltage pulse for the front-end fence and detect fence alarm
status.
In the cycle of slightly greater than 1s, the system usually generates
5000V-10000V pulsed high voltage with the duration of only about 0.0001s on the
fence line; when invaders touch the adjacent two conductive lines, the pulsed high
voltage can generally penetrate the contacts’ insulated clothing and skin, then invaders
will feel a strong acupuncture-like pain. The maximum energy of pulsed high voltage
generated by qualified system is strictly limited, which will not lead to
life-threatening result to human body. The system's largest energy output indicators
determine the electric shock intensity felt by the contact; feedback of the system is
usually obtained by detecting the pulsed high voltage to achieve the alarm.

Description
● Auxiliary power output: you can output power DC12V directly from the energizer,
without the need to purchase other auxiliary power supply to achieve cost savings.
● Zone interface: used to connect sound and light alarm, indoor tweeters and other
equipment KEY, COM, GATE. The interface is used for connecting infrared and other
auxiliary equipment without adding modules, which is easy to operate and save costs.
See Chapter 3.4 for wiring diagrams.
● Battery connector: used to connect the battery.
● High-voltage terminals: for connection with the front-end fence. See Chapter 3.3 for
wiring diagrams.

Chapter 3 Use and Installation
3.1 Equipment packaging and visual inspection
● Before use, please read the instructions in this manual and pay attention to the
considerations of use and installation.
● Appearance should be clean and smooth, the surface has no cracks and permanent
stains, and logo is correct.
●Installation of LCD screen has no tilt, key film has no deflection and displacement,
and buttons have no color losing and anomalies.
● The upper and lower shell assembly, switches, power supply and the interface
assembly are intact.
● Check whether the upper and lower shell assembly screws are tightened and the
screws are free of rust.
● Confirmation of the bar code. The bar code should be consistent with the equipment,
batch number should match the serial number with no damage and stains. (If you have
any questions above, please contact your local dealer immediately)
● After opening the box, make an inventory of the equipment and whether the model and
the number of accessories are correct according to the packing list.
● Check whether all items are in good condition, if having any abnormal
circumstances, please contact the company or local dealers immediately.
3.2 Installation method
The energizer shell is not waterproof, so it must be installed in the
waterproof box when installed outdoors. The back side of the energizer can be fixed
on the waterproof box liner directly.
The steps are as follows:
1. Opening the waterproof box, you can see its liner has been installed with rivet nuts.
Without the need of removing the liner, you can directly fix screws into the
appropriate holes on the energizer liner, as shown in the Figure:

2. Turn the energizer, observe the fixed hole, and then hang it on the fixed screw
of the energizer’s fixed plate, as shown in the Figure:

Description
●Connect the high-voltage insulated conductor of the energizer to the front-end
fence through PVC wiring tube. Wire connector (or self-winding) should be used for
reliable connection.
● The energizer high-voltage terminals are marked with F1, F2, R1, R2, ..., etc.,
which should respectively access to corresponding high conductivity wire of the
front-end fence as shown in the Figure.
● Bridge high conductivity wire with high-voltage insulated conductor at the end of
the front-end fence, then wiring is completed as shown in the Figure.

3.4 External equipment installation instructions
3.4.1 Installation of siren
Positive pole of 12V power adapter is connected with the same end of the
Siren, negative is connected with COM terminal of the alarm output relay in the
zone corresponding to energizer, and negative pole of the Siren is connected with
NO terminal of the alarm output relay, as shown below:

Chapter 4 Operating Instructions for the Energizer
1. Connect the line and turn on the power, then the energizer's LCD screen lights up,
indicating that the energizer power is normal.
2. Press the power button at the bottom of the energizer to switch its working state
(arm or disarm). When arming, the energizer will send out the sound of "beep". The
status bar on the main LCD panel will scroll and the status bar of the zone will display
the voltage, current and other information of each zone, indicating that the
energizer begins to work and runs properly. When the defense state is revoked, the
energizer will not make any sound, and the scroll bar above the screen doesn’t have
any changes.
3. Press the “setup” button and “up” and “down” keys on the LCD panel to adjust the
voltage of each zone.
4. When there is an alarm, the energizer will identify the alarm category, alarm
display field of the zone will display the alarm message, then the energizer beeps
while outputting the corresponding on-off signal.
5. When the alarm is released, the energizer will automatically reset.

Generic Cabling System
The electronic fence system is composed of front-end fence, energizer, back-end control part
and other linkage equipment. The pulse host is the core of the control, transmission and detection of
the electronic fence system. it provides the pulse voltage to the front fence through the high-voltage
insulated wire, and transmits the alarm signal to the back-end control part for management. It is
scattered and installed in the perimeter, the energizer of the double defense area is placed every 150
≤ 300 meters, according to the length of the specific design protection area, generally installed in the
outdoor rain box.
The energizer connects AC 220V power source through centralized or nearby power
supply.
Wiring tips:
There are two wires are needed, one is a RVV, recommended RVV2*1.5 or above
specifications; the other is a RVVS or RVVSP, recommended RVVS2*1.0 or above
specifications. The wiring is as follows:
1. Groove 30cm down along the wall bottom of perimeter to bury two φ2.0 cm
PVC pipes (galvanized pipe is preferred) for signal wire and power wire.
2. Spare outlet wire when the pipe arrives at the energizer.
3. Signal wire and power wire go through the buried PVC pipes separately by the use
of punch to the energizer, and then set aside a distance (the length from the entrance of the pipe to
the energizer) to connect the energizer with the terminal back to the host control room.
4. Avoid pipe joints in the pipe during the wiring, otherwise joints should be
appeared in the outlet only.
5. PVC pipes are better to be underground for 30 cm, but φ50 mm galvanized pipe
is recommended to where has a large vehicle flow and buried at least 50 cm down in the earth to
avoid the failure caused by the compression on pipes.
6. Use the punch directly for the wiring if there has been a reserved pipe.
7. Connect to the nearby power supply to save costs. Signal wire should come back to
connect controller keyboard in the host control room after connecting each energizer around the
perimeter.
8. A proper distance is required between pipes of power wire and signal wire to avoid the
interference.
