Installation and
Care Instructions
Provenance™
Woven Wood Shades
BASIC INSTALLATION:
Begin by unpacking your
woven wood shade. Be
careful not to discard the
brackets packaged in the
red hardware bag. Please
use all brackets included.
The number of brackets
recommended are based on the
width and weight of the shade.
Shades may be mounted to the
ceiling, wall or window frame
(FIGURES A-C)
.
Place the bracket on the shade,
putting the bolt through the slot
in the top of the shade
(FIGURES A)
.
Mark the drill holes. Remove the
brackets from the shade, place
the brackets at the pencil marks
and screw into place.
Fit the shade up into the bolt bracket so that the
bolt is visible under the headrail. Place the wing
nut on the bolt and tighten securely
(FIGURES A-C)
.
A Speciality Ceiling Mount Bracket can be
ordered separately
(FIGURE D)
.
Thank you and congratulations on purchasing a
Hunter Douglas Provenance™ woven wood shade.
We know that you will be pleased with our product
for years to come.
Installation for your new woven wood shade is
simple. The only tools necessary are a screwdriver,
pencil and a small hand drill.

OPERATION OF SHADE:
To lock the shade in position, pull the cords to the
right. To unlock, pull the cords to the left
(FIGURES E)
.
To raise the shade, hold all cords, and pull until
the shade is at the desired height. Do not try to
raise the shade any higher than intended. When
the shade is fully drawn, lock the cords into place.
If you experience any shade skewing, check to
see that you are pulling ALL CORDS evenly.
Pulling one cord will cause your shade to shift in
one direction. If your shade should raise unevenly,
gently pull on an individual cord until the bottom
of the shade becomes level.
CARE and CLEANING:
Should your Hunter Douglas Provenance™ woven
wood shade become dusty or dirty, a lightly
dampened cloth may be gently applied to the
shade. It is not recommended that your shade be
submerged into water.
SPECIALTY SHADES:
ANGLE TOP
Shades are installed with the
same hardware as standard
shades.
TOP-DOWN/BOTTOM-UP
Shades lower from the
top and raise from the
bottom. Be cautious
during installation as
top-down/bottom-up
shades have an extra
set of pull cords.
MULTI-SHADES ON ONE HEADRAIL
Two and three shades on one headrail are
mounted as any standard shade. Additional
brackets are necessary to accommodate the
weight.

Cord Cleat
OPACITY OPTION:
LIT888230 4/02 25K
The Opacity Option mounts discreetly behind your
new Provenance™ woven wood shade using our
specialty Opacity Option bracket. Installation is
very easy.
Follow the basic installation instructions for marking
and drilling the holes for the brackets. Once the
brackets are in place, snap your Opacity Option
shade into the small clips located on the bracket.
(Please note that your Opacity Option shade is facing
the proper direction by checking the cord position.)
Once the Opacity Option is properly installed, the
woven wood shade is ready for installation. Fit the
shade up into the bolt so that the bolt is visible
under the headrail. Place the wing nut on the bolt
and tighten securely.
A cord cleat must be used to tie off the Opacity
Option cord. Please mount the cord cleat on the
cord side of the window facing or the wall.
