ENGLISH INTRODUCTION
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Sunrise Medical recommends that a clinician such as a doctor
or therapist experienced in seating and positioning be con-
sulted to determine if a G Back is appropriate. Backs
should only be installed by an authorized Sunrise Medical
supplier.
THE JAY G BACK
The JAY GO Back is designed to provide the important benefits of
aproper back support for a wide variety of users. It is designed to
provide simple, comfortable and effective support to help maximize
function and increase sitting tolerance. In addition, it is light-weight,
durable and easy to use.
Maximum user weight:
300 lbs. (136 kg) for sizes 12" to 21" widths
500 lbs. (227 kg) for sizes 22" to 26" widths
WARNING
Installing a back support on a wheelchair may affect the
center of gravity of the wheelchair and may cause the
wheelchair to tip backwards potentially resulting in injury.
Always assess for the potential need for anti-tippers or
amputee axle adapter brackets to be added to the
wheelchair to help increase stability.
WARNING
Do not use JAY G Back to push or lift wheelchair.
Improper use may cause the back to unexpectedly
detach from the wheelchair.
WARNING
Do not use the JAY G back cover or straps to lift
wheelchair.
MAINTENANCE
Sunrise recommends that the JAY Go Strap Assembly be checked
for wear and tear every 6 months. Contact your authorized Sunrise
Medical supplier immediately to replace any broken components.
Do not continue to use the system after identifying loose or broken
components.
EASY CLEANING
NOTE– When disassembling the back for cleaning, note the position and
orientation of the Strap Assembly and cover for correct reassembly.

Wipe down outer cover using a soft cloth and warm soap and
water. The outer cover can be machine washed in warm water and
light detergent as needed.
NOTE– Remove foam from inside of cover prior to machine
washing.
The foam core may be washed by hand with light soap and water.
Strap Assembly
Wipe down strap assembly as needed using light soap and warm
water.
ATTENTION–Do not machine wash the strap assembly.
If you have any additional questions regarding cleaning procedures,
please contact your authorized Sunrise Medical dealer.

INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT
INSTALLATI N
To install the JAY GO Back, first remove the outer cover from the
strap assembly. Then install the strap assembly onto the back canes
of the wheelchair by wrapping the Velcro sleeves around the back
canes and engage the Velcro fully. (A)
IMPORTANT–Note the height of the back. Make sure the strap
assembly is appropriate to the top of the back canes and leaves
enough room underneath the strap assembly for the cushion.
NOTE– Align grommet holes of the JAY Go back with the grommet holes (if
present) on the wheelchair. If provided, install the wheelchair back
cane screws as shown in Figure B.
Ensure the horizontal Velcro adjustment straps are facing rearward.
Then install the cover making sure the padded side of the cover is
next to the back of the client. Lastly, fold the back flap of the cover
over the back of the strap assembly.
ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the tension of the JAY GO Back, first lift up the back
cover flap to expose the horizontal Velcro straps (C). Then adjust
each strap individually to the desired tension (D).
ATTENTION–AVOID over-tightening of the strap assembly as this
may cause damage to the integrity of the back canes.
Lastly, fold down the back cover flap over the horizontal Velcro
adjustment straps to complete your adjustment.
WARRANTY
Claims and repairs should be processed through the nearest
authorized supplier. Except for express warranties made herein, all
other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability
and warranties of fitness for a particular purpose are excluded.
There are not warranties which extend beyond the description on
the face hereof. Remedies for breach of express warranties herein
are limited to repair or replacement of the goods. In no event shall
damages for breach of any warranty include any consequential
damages or exceed the cost of non-conforming goods sold.
24 M NTH LIMITED WARRANTY
Each JAY GO Back is carefully inspected and tested to provide peak
performance. Every JAY GO Back is guaranteed to be free from
defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 24 months
from the date of purchase, provided normal use. Should a defect in
materials or workmanship occur within 24 months from the origi-
nal date of purchase, Sunrise Medical will, at its option, repair or
replace it without charge. This warranty does not apply to punc-
tures, tears or burns, nor to the back’s removable cover.
