youareusingadropkeel,makesurethatyouhavesufcientwaterdepthtolowerit.
Caution
YoumustneversettheEK80to"ping"unlessthetransducerissubmergedinwater.
Mosttransducersaredamagedbeyondrepairiftheytransmitinopenair.Prevent
inadvertentuseoftheEK80wheneveratransducerisnot
submerged.
WhentheEK80isnotused
WhenyoudonotusetheEK80,turnoffthedisplayandtheProcessorUnit.Ifyou
arenotusingtheEK80foralongperiodoftime,werecommendthatyouturnoffthe
transceiver(s).
Whenyouaredockingyourvessel
YoumustneverturnontheEK80whentheshipisindrydock.Thetransducer(s)may
bedamagediftheEK80transmitsinopenair.TopreventinadvertentuseoftheEK80,

TheSimradEK80isthemostmodernhigh-endsplit-beamscienticechosounderin
thescienticmarket.Basedonmorethan60yearsofresearchanddevelopmentin
closecollaborationwithleadingmarinescientiststhiswidebandechosoundersystem
hassucceededthefamousEK60,whichbecameaninternationalstandardforshstock
assessment.
TheSimradEK80isthenaturalchoiceformodernresearchvesselsandenvironmental
monitoringinstallationsrequiringhighqualityscienticdataforresourcemanagement
andcuttingedgeresearch.
TheEK80supportshullmountingtransducers,butitisalsowellsuitedforportable
use.Pulsessweepingoverawidefrequencyband(FM)andthetraditionaldiscrete
frequencies(CW)areavailable.Widebandsweepsprovidelongrangewithout
compromisingtargetresolution.Continuousfrequencyresponsesoverawideband
improvetargetidenticationanddiscrimination.Splitbeamcalibrationisimplemented
forbothFMandCWmodes.
