ADIRONDACK PICNIC TABLE
Thank you for purchasing this L.L. Bean Home Adirondack Picnic Table.
Assembly of this product requires a 7/16” wrench or an adjustable wrench, and
Phillips screwdriver. We have found it helpful to have a second person assist with
assembly.

STEP 1
Read through these instructions thoroughly before
beginning assembly. We have found this to be of great
value when first assembling this product.
STEP 2
Remove all parts and hardware from packing material.
Wooden pieces should be placed on a non-abrasive
surface (like the carton or carpet) to prevent damage to
the finish.
STEP 3
Identify all parts using diagram at right

STEP 4
Identify and count hardware using diagram at right.
Assembly of this product requires an adjustable wrench
and Phillips screwdriver.We have found it helpful to
have a second person present in at least one step of
the assembly.
STEP 5
Locate two leg sections (B) with factory-installed t-nut
countersunk into them.
Attach outer leg (C) to inner leg (B) by placing outer leg
(C) on top of inner leg (B) and inserting 1 ½” machine
screw with washer, through center hole in outer leg (C)
and into the factory-installed locknut in the center of
inner leg (B). Do not tighten fully at this time. This
will create a “scissor” leg assembly.
Repeat for the other leg.

STEP 6
Attach the leg assembly from STEP 5 to the top
assembly (A) by inserting a lag bolt and washer through
the predrilled holes in the leg supports on the underside
of the bench. Do not fully tighten. Repeat for other leg
assembly.
STEP 7 (Shown Below)
Connect the leg assemblies using leg stretchers (D). Insert the 1 ½” screws through the two small predrilled holes at
the base of each leg inward into the pilot holes in the ends of each leg stretcher.
Note: Take care in aligning the legs on the inward side of the leg support brackets, which were factory mounted
to allow for the offset of the legs. You may now tighten the lag bolts fully and then tighten the machine screws
connecting the legs.
CARE
Your painted table is finished with an acrylic paint
that is mildew and stain resistant. To clean, wipe
accumulated dirt with a solution of warm soapy
water and a soft cloth; rinse thoroughly with clean
water. Your natural oak table is finished with a clear
wood preservative coating.
Decks, porches and patios are the best locations for
outdoor use. Store in a dry, covered area when not in
use or for off-season storage.
