GENERAL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The locking system is a baery-operated biometric locking system for furniture. The locking system consists of a lock
and a ngerprint module, which are connected to each other by a cable. The locking system is intended for use in
residenal and oce areas inside buildings. This manual gives you informaon in order to install and operate the
locking system correctly. Keep the operang instrucons in an easily accessible place. Using the locking system in
applicaons for which it is not intended may result in irreparable damage to it and render any claims null and void.
Please be sure to read all warnings and read the operang instrucons completely before you start assembly,
commissioning and conguraon.
The use of this locking system in combinaon with addional mechanical or electronic soluons from other
manufacturers must be checked for compability. We assume no liability for damage resulng from incompability.
Wording and graphics have been prepared for you with care. However, no liability will be assumed for any mistakes
that may have occurred. The scope of items included by the manufacturer in the system as well as technical
specicaons are subject to change without noce.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
UPack the baery to transport the lock in such a way, that no short circuit can occur (explosion and re hazard).
UOn changing the baery, ensure correct baery polarity and posion.
UDispose of spent baeries and packaging material in the proper manner (see page 20, „Disposal“).
UDo not heat baeries, take them apart or short-circuit them.
UNever throw baeries into open res.
UThe baery must not be charged.
UKeep the baery and packaging material out of children’s reach.
UAny person swallowing baeries must seek immediate medical advice.
UDamaged or leaking baeries may cause acid burns and/or poisoning.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Protect all system components from moisture.
• Clean the locking system with a clean, so, damp cloth only.
• Do not use any aggressive detergents containing abrasives or solvents. Glass cleaners, thinners, alcohol, benzene
or liquids containing ammonia are not suitable for cleaning purposes.
• Treang any of the electronic and mechanical components improperly or in any way other than described in this
user manual may lead to malfuncons.
• Replace the baery in good me, but at the latest when the visual baery warning on the keypad lights up.
FACTORY SETTINGS
The locking system can be locked or unlocked with any nger at this point. Aer programming an admin nger, the
locking system is in the "assigned use" operang mode.

Operang mode Descripon
Assigned use
There is a xed assignment between the user nger and the locking system. The respecve
user nger is programmed or deleted by using an admin nger on the lock. Several users can
have authorizaon for a lock at the same me. The locking system allows selecve access
authorizaons to be granted so that only authorized persons have access. Up to 200 ngers can
be programmed per lock (max. number of admin and user ngers).
A user nger can be programmed at several locks at the same.
Shared use
A user can temporarily use a lock of his choice with one nger. If a lock is locked with a nger,
the nger and the lock are coupled together. This coupling is deacvated when the user un-
locks the lock again with his nger.
ATTENTION: This mode should not be used in public areas or similar, as a user can lock several
or even all locks.
OPERATING DESCRIPTION
With the locking system, you can conveniently unlock and lock your furniture. The ngerprint of an user is used as a
"key". A maximum of 200 ngers (maximum number of admin and user ngers) can be programmed on the locking
system. Two operang modes are available:
ADMIN FINGER AND USER FINGER
Admin and user ngers can be programmed on the locking system. The following funcons are possible with an
admin nger:
• Programming and deleng user ngers
• Programming addional admin ngers
• Deleng admin ngers
• Facility manager funcon and emergency opening
• Conguraon changes (e.g. operang mode, acvang / deacvang auto locking, reset to factory sengs)

Please note that these operang instrucons apply to dierent product versions. The package content therefore
depends on the respecve product variant. The product variants and mounng recommendaons shown here are
intended for wooden furniture with a thickness of 16-19 mm. With dierent wood thicknesses and materials, the
screws for fastening the lock must be adjusted and, if necessary, addional components such as a spacer must be
used.


MOUNTING ON WOOD
Only install the locking system when it is unlocked. Carry out all programming processes and funcon checks with
the cabinet door open. This gives you access to all components in the event of a malfuncon.
Hand-ghten all screws and nuts.
• Carry out a stepped drilling to mount the ngerprint module according to the following graphics.
• Fasten the ngerprint module with the fastening nut, e.g. with a socket wrench.
• Connect the cable of the ngerprint module to the lock in the correct posion.
• Assemble the lock according to the following graphics.
• Assemble the striker plate according to the following graphics.

MOUNTING THE BOLT PROTECTOR (not in version with xed bolt)
The bolt protector provided with the M410 can be used for addional protecon of the locking system against
external mechanical manipulaon. Depending on the purpose the lock M410 is being used for and where it is
installed, we recommend ng this addional, easy-to-mount protector.

GETTING STARTED AND CHANGING BATTERIES
Make sure that the lock and ngerprint module are correctly connected to each other with the connecon cable.
Make sure that the plug and the socket are connected in the correct posion. When connecng to the lock, the plug
contacts must point downwards to the circuit board in the lock. Insert the baery only aer connecng the lock with
the ngerprint module.
IMPORTANT: Only use one CR123A primary baery!

BOLT END POSITION SCAN FUNCTION
The locking system also has a bolt end posion scan funcon. If, during the locking process, the bolt does not reach
its end posion, the LED display ashes red for four mes. The lock is not locked. Check the correct mounng
posion of the lock, the bolt protector and the striker plate.

• There are long and short ashes, which are shown as follows. The ashing signals are available in dierent colors.

Furthermore, with some programming steps or warnings, there are long and short acousc signals in parallel to
the ashing signals (e.g. in the case of conguraon changes). This is represented as follows:
• Place the middle of the top nger joint on the reading eld. The enre area of the reading eld should be covered.
The ngerp is not read!
• Do not swipe your nger across the reading eld! If a nger cannot be detected correctly, the LED pulsates in light
yellow-green:

In this case, check the posion of your nger on the reading eld. Hold the corresponding nger again with light
pressure in the middle of the reading eld.
• In order to register admin or user ngers correctly, the ngers must be successfully registered six mes during the
programming process. When registering a nger, slightly vary the posion when placing the nger on the reading
eld. Do not change the nger to be learned during the learning process.
• All programming processes are carried out with the lock in opened posion.
• If you do not remove the admin nger from the reading eld during the programming steps, the LED ashes light
yellow-green connuously unl the nger is removed.
• If a programming process is not completed correctly, permission and conguraon changes will not be accepted.
The progamming process or the programming mode are cancelled aer 15 seconds of inacvity. The LED ashes
red.
• To exit the programming mode without making any changes, wait 15 seconds for the system to automacally
cancel the operaon.
• The admin nger must not be programmed as a user nger at the same me.
• It is highly recommended to program at least two admin ngers.
• For some programming processes, the learn buon on the lock must be pressed with the programming sck.

INSTALLATION MODE
During assembly, you have the opon of locking and unlocking the lock with any nger. In this mode, the basic
funcons (locking and unlocking) can be tested on the lock. There is no processing of ngerprints.

PROGRAMMING THE FIRST ADMIN FINGER
Irrespecve of the required operang mode, an admin nger must always be programmed in advance to further
programming and operaon. The admin nger can only be programmed when the lock is open. In order to program
an admin nger, the nger must be successfully read six mes by the ngerprint module. Aer the admin nger has
been programmed, the locking system is in the "assigned use" operang mode. If you want to use the lock in the
"shared use" operang mode, change the operang mode. To do this, follow the instrucons on page 16. It is highly
recommended to program at least two admin ngers. To do this, follow the instrucons on page 12.

A maximum of 200 dierent ngers (admin and user ngers) can be programmed per lock in the "assigned use"
operang mode. The lock must be in posion open. An admin nger that has already been programmed cannot be
programmed as a user nger.

DELETING AN ADMIN FINGER
Individual admin ngers can be deleted from the locking system. The locking system must be unlocked for this
procedure. An admin nger cannot delete itself. This means that in order to delete an admin nger (e.g.: admin
nger B), the programming mode must be started with another admin nger (e.g.: admin nger A), which remains
programmed into the system.
In order to delete all admin ngers at once, the locking system must be reset to the factory delivery status.

FACILITY MANAGER FUNCTION
A locked lock can be opened for 30 seconds with an admin nger. Aer 30 seconds, the lock locks automacally.
Aer automac locking, authorized user ngers can connue to be used both in the "assigned use" operang mode
and in the "shared use" operang mode.

ACTIVATE / DEACTIVATE AUTO LOCKING
In the "assigned use" operang mode, the auto locking funcon can be acvated and deacvated. For locks in
"shared use" mode, this funcon is skipped in the programming mode. This funcon is only suitable for locks with a
spring-loaded bolt. Aer acvang this funcon, the lock automacally closes aer 10 seconds, once the lock was
unlocked. The lock must be unlocked to acvate this funcon.

BATTERY WARNING
The locking system is equipped with a baery management system, which uses opcal and acousc signals to
indicate that the baery needs to be changed. The baery warning occurs in two phases:
Baery warning phase 1
Before an acon (locking / unlocking) is performed,
the system issues the baery warning. A reset or a
conguraon change is not possible. Please change
the baery.
The system issues the baery warning every 60
minutes.
Baery warning phase 2
The lock can only be unlocked. Conguraon chan-
ges, reset and closing procedure are not possible.
Before the lock opens, the baery warning is issued.
The baery must be changed immediately.
The system issues a low baery warning every 60
minutes.
FIRMWARE UPDATE
You have the opon of updang the rmware of the locking system via the micro USB socket on the lock. Firmware
updates for this locking system are only made available on the website www.lehmann-locks.com if required
(e.g. technical necessity). The LEHMANN Firmware Updater soware is required for this. Further informaon on
implementaon and installaon is available in the LEHMANN Firmware Updater soware.
DISPOSAL
Dispose the locking system according to local regulaons and guidelines. Remove the baery and dispose them
separately according to naonal regulaons. When disposing of parally discharged baeries, make sure that there
are no short circuits between the poles of the baeries (danger of explosion and re).
