POLYETHYLENE TANKS AND HOSES
1. Owners/operators
of
chemical application
machines, including the SF550, must be
aware that some agricultural chemicals can
penetrate into the polyethylene
tank
wall
used
to
hold various liquids
for
agricultural
application and/or the walls
of
connecting
hoses. A CAUTION A
Use
of
different chemicals could create a
situation
in
which personal injury, crop, soil,
or
other damage could
occur
depending on the
properties
of
thechemicals involved.
2. There is a possibility
that
certain chemicals
subsequently introduced into the tank may
cause some leaching
of
a previously used
chemical from
the
tank
wall.
A CAUTION A
Prior use
of
certain chemicals may prevent
the
appropriate and safe use
of
other chemicals
later.
3.
Before making any decision regarding
the
later use
of
differentchemical solutions, the
owner/operator should consider
this
leech-
ingtraitand consulttheirchemicalsuppliers
regarding any potential effects.
4.
Repeated flushings between appropriate
chemical changes are recommended. (see
"FlushingThe LiquidSystem"
in
