properly abided by, assures good operation, safety, and durability of your
NOGUEIRA ENSILING MACHINE. We recommend carefully reading it, before
beginning to operate the machine.
There is an identification plate fastened on the machine, which displays the
manufacturing serial number. Write this number on the guarantee certificate on
this manual.
This information is extremely important for identifying your machine.

Safety
- Read the instruction manual before turning on
the machine. Pay close attention and respect all
the operating and safety recommendations
while operating. SHARE THIS INFORMATION
WITHOTHERUSERS.
- Do not operate the machine while or after
drinking alcoholic beverages or medications
which affect your normal condition. Pay
attention to what you are doing and use your
good sense. Any lack of attention while
operating the machine can result in a serious
accident.
-Disconnectthetractormotorbeforeperforming
any maintenance job on the machine. Never try
to perform any repairs while the machine is
turnedon.Alwayspaycompleteattention!
- Before turning on the machine, check if there
areanytoolsorotherobjectsonit.
- Look around the machine before turning it on.
Keep animals and spectators away at a safe
distance, away for the pick-up area. Be
especiallycarefulofchildren.
- Wear personal protective equipment - PPE
while operating the machine. Exposure to noise

orloss.Wearearplugsandsafetyglasses.
-Neveropenthemachinewhenitisoperating.
- Never touch the belts or gears when the
machine is operating. Keep your hands away
frommovingparts.
- Dress appropriately for operating the machine.
Keep long hair tied up and do not wear loose-
fitting clothing. Remove rings, chains, and any
other objects which can become stuck in the
movingpartsormechanisms.
- Keep the safety labels in good condition and
legible.Replacethemwhenevernecessary.
- Keep the shielding and protections in the
proper places and do not operate the machine
withoutthembeinginstalled.
-Itisprohibitedforpeopletostandonanypartof
the machine while operating. Whenever it is
necessary to get on the machine for any
adjustmentorrepair,disconnectthepowertake-
offfromthetractorandwaituntilthecomponents
/partsarecompletelymotionless.
- Never try to clean or remove products, straw
etc., while the machine is turned on. Turn off the
motor and wait until all moving parts stop before
cleaninganypartofthemachine.
- Never leave the machine operating when
nobodyisthere.Alwaysturnoffthemotorbefore
leavingtheoperatingarea.
- If you notice any abnormality in the operation:
vibrations, different noises etc., turn off the
machine immediately. Check and eliminate the
causebeforeturningonagain.
-Ifitisnecessarytoworkonthemachinewhenit
is raised by the hydraulic system, it must be
raised safely. Hydraulic mechanisms can lower
without any reason or from leakage in the
system,andcauseanaccident.
- Do not place the machine on cement-blocks,
hollowbricks,orother supports which can crush
fromaprolongedweightload.

- Never operate the machine in closed
surroundings and without any ventilation, the
gases released from the tractor motor (diesel or
gasoline)arehighlypoisonoustoyourhealth.
- Moving parts, due to inertia, continue moving
even after the machine is turned off. Before
touching any part, disconnect from its actuation
source, look and listen to make sure there is no
movement.Onlytouch a part whenyouare sure
itismotionless.Alwayspayattention!
- Before starting to install the electric motor,
make sure the local electric power is
disconnected.
- The pick-up nozzle-chute cover (fig.04) was
designed to guarantee more safety while being
operated, preventing the hands from reaching
the pick-up rollers, thus avoiding accidents with
serious injuries. Do not take off the cover.

APPLICATION PICK-UP NOZZLE-CHUTE
WHAT IS SUPPLIED WITH THE MACHINE
NEVER OPERATE THE ENSILING MACHINE
WITHOUT THE PROTECTIVE COVER.
ACTUATION
The Nogueira Ensiling Machines were designed
for shredding forages plants which were
previously harvested, such as: sugarcane,
glasses, sorghum, corn etc., used for making
forageforsilageordailyanimalfeed.
Before installing the nozzle-chute in the
machine, the protective shield cover must be
installed. The cover was designed to guarantee
safety during operation, preventing hands from
reaching pick-up rollers, thus avoiding
accidents.
- Screw the protective cover on the Nozzle-
Chute.
-Instructionmanual;
- Pick-up and unloader nozzle-chutes (they are
unassembled);
- PTO Driveshaft (only for tractor actuated
models);
- Number 8 and 16 cutting adjustment gears
(onlyformodelsEN-9F3B,EN-12BeEN-12F4).
-Donotletanybodyremovetheprotectivecover.
The actuation options are available with
accessories actuated by high or low RPM
electricmotors,dieselorgasolinemotors,tractor
powertake-off(categoryII),which at least30HP
and540RPM.
Note: The actuation method depends on the
ensiling machine model and the accessories
used, which are ordered based on your specific
need.
The EN-6180 model is available only actuated
byhighRPMelectricmotor.

ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLY
The pick-up and unloader nozzle-chutes are not
assembled on the machine in order to facilitate
shipment.
InstallingthePICK-UPNOZZLE-CHUTES
Fasten the nozzle-chutes straps to the existing
hooks on the machine, as shown in the following
figures.
-Placethestrapsinthehooks -Lownozzle.
-Highnozzle.
-Thisnozzle-chuteisassembled.
Installing the UNLOADER NOZZLE-CHUTE
(HighorLowNozzle).
Assemble the narrow and wide clamps and
fasteningscrewsinthesequenceshownbelow.

Electric motor actuation
- The electric motor must be installed by a specialized professional mechanic. The cabling size and
installeddevicesmustcomplywiththecurrentlyenforcedsafetystandards.
- We recommend assembling the machine in a flat and clean location, which is free of oil, grease,
foreign bodies, and protected from the sun and rain.Any water in the assembling location increases
thedangerfromelectricalshock.
-Theremustbespacearoundthemachineallowingunobstructedandsafemovementfortheoperator
andtheproductbeingoperated.
ModelEN-6180
The EN-6180 model ensiling machine is equipped with longer stands, including fastening for the
electricmotor.
Performthefollowinginstructionsforassemblingthemotorandthebeltshields:
1-Removethepulleyfromthemachine. 2-Placethemotoronthebracket,butwithoutthe
fasteningscrews.

Electric motor actuation (continuation)

The metallic stand for assembling the electric
motor in the ensiling machine is equipped with
special rubber feet which do away with the need
forfasteningtheassemblytotheground.
1-Placethemachineonthemetallicstand,inthe
placedisplayed in the abovefigure. Fasten the 4
feettothestandrails.
7- Install the pulley belts. Stretch the belts using
thestretcherpresentonthestand.

manual.
2- Place the motor on the stand rails (as
displayedintheabovefigure).
3-Alignthepulleys(machine/motor).

Diesel or gasoline motor actuation
The metallic stand for assembling the diesel or
gasoline motor in the ensiling machine is
equippedwithspecial rubber feetwhichdoaway
with the need for fastening the assembly to the
ground.
2- Place the motor on the stand rails (as

3-Alignthepulleys(machine/motor).
4-Fastenthemotortotherails using the screws,

Coupling to the tractor and installing the driveshaft
Coupling the ensiling machine to the three-point linkage of the tractor hydraulic system (first the first
lowerarmsandthentheupperarm).
Ifitisnecessarytoshortenthedriveshaft,proceedasfollows:
-Separatethetwopartsofthedriveshaft(male/female);
-Couplethe“female”sidetothetractorpowertake-offandthe“male”sidetothemachine;
-Placethetwopartsofthedriveshaftside-by-sideandmarktheplaceforcutting,leavingabout25mm
ofplay,oneachend(seethefollowingfigures);
-Removethedriveshaft,cuttheextrapartsofffromthemaleandfemalesides;
-Thenassemblethedriveshaftagain,seeiftheendsarealigned,asshowninthefollowingfigure.
EnsilingmachineinstalledwithTRAILERORATRAILERBASE:
Connectthetowinghitchtothetractortowingbar.Intheseversions,generally,itisnecessarytocutthe
driveshaft.Ifnecessary,proceedasdescribedabove.
NOTES:
- The parts cut from the solid and tubular parts of the driveshaft must be the same length. It is
necessarytoleaveaminimumof25mmofplayatbothendsofthedriveshaft.
- The instructions for cutting, lubricating, maintenance, and installing the driveshaft protective cover
arefoundanddescribedinthepamphletsuppliedbythemanufacturer.
- It is the exclusive responsibility of the authorized Nogueira reseller to prepare the driveshaft and try
outforthefirstoperationofthemachine.
CAUTION
Aftercoupling,carefullycheckifthedriveshaftiswell-latchedtothetractorand
machine axles. If the moving driveshaft disengages, it can result in a serious
accident.

Before turning on the ensiling machine

Ensiling machine models EN-9F3B, EN-12B e EN-
12F4 are supplied without oil in the transmission
gearbox.
Before turning on the machine for the first time,
remove the cover and fill the gearbox with 1 liter of
SAE140oil.
Ensiling machines models EN-9F3B and EN-12B, defines the cutting sizes based on a pair of gear
wheels. The figure below shows all the possible cutting settings and the pair of corresponding gear
wheels.
NOTES:Allthecuttinggearwheelsarenumbered.
The gear wheels 6 and 22 (optional) are not supplied with the machine, but they can be purchased
fromaNogueirareseller.
