The manufacturing serial number is engraved on the machine housing; write
this number on the guarantee certificate in the end of this manual. This
information is very important for identifying your machine when technical
support or part replacement are needed.

TheNogueiraCompanyisconcernedaboutthe
safety of people involved in operating and
performing maintenance procedures on the
Forage Chopper. During the course of
developing the design for this machine, we
have considered every detail, in order to avoid
unexpectedaccidents, which could occur while
operating the machinery. We have designed
safety shielding to do away with dangerous
situations. However, there are some
components and parts, due to their functions,
whichcannotbecompletelyshielded.
We recommend carefully reading this manual,
before turning on the machine. It contains
informationnecessary foroperatingthe Forage
Chopper safely. Remember, keeping people
healthyand their physical integrity must always
be considered to the upmost. We have
prepared this manual so that you will become
familiar with operating the machine for the first
time. If you have any questions or doubts,
please, feel free to get in touch with us at our
resellers, dealers, or at our Technical support
department.
SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
- The Forage Chopper PN-Master 3000 has
been developed exclusively to chop forages to
animalfood.
-When supplythe machine,neverintroduct the
handsintothefeedingchute.
- In order to obtain the maximum efficiency and
quality of chopped material, maintain a
constantanduniformfeeding.
-Tomoresecurityfastenthemachineonaeven
andrigidsurface.
- Never use the machine to chop tree branchs
oranotherrigidmaterial.
- Never attempt to adjust or repair components
withthemachineinmovement.
- Do not leave the Forage Chopper in a place
that can be operated by children or not quality
people.
- Never try to clean or remove remnants of
product while the machine is turned on. This
type of procedure can only be done while the
motor is turned off and the machine is
completelymotionless.
- Never try to open the machine while it is
operating.
- Never touch the belts or gears while the
machine is turned on. Keep your hands away
frommovingpartsandcomponents.
- Keep the safety labels in good conditions and
legible.Replacethemwhenevernecessary.
-Keep the shieldsandprotections in theproper
places and do not operate the machine without
them.
There are safety adhesive labels on the
machine; there are warning, containing safety
alert symbols and specific instructions, for the
purpose of protecting the safety of the operator
andotherpeople.
This warning refers to dangerous situations,
which may result in serious accidents and be
lifethreatening,iftheinstructionsarenotstrictly
abidedby.
This type warns on dangerous situations and
informs on necessary precautions in order to

Safety

Whenever it is necessary to handling the
machine when it is still in the box, use a fork lift
properlyandneverliftitusingstrapsorcranes.
Whenitisnecessarytoliftthemachineoutside
of the box, use appropriate straps and fasten
themtotheadequateplaces.
HANDLING THE MACHINE WITH
A WINCH OR FORKLIFT
1- The machine must be turned off and
disconnected from the tractor when performing
any kind of maintenance and lubrication
procedures.
2- Pay attention to the types and quantities of
lubricants recommended for diverse parts and
components.
Whenever it is necessary to transport the
machine longer distances, or it is necessary to
travelonpublic roads,it mustbetransportedby
truckoronasemi-trailertruck.
The machine must be completely inside the
truckbodyoronthesemitrailercarryingit.

- Moving parts, due to inertia, continue moving
even after the machine is turned off. Before
touchinganypart, disconnectfrom itsactuation
source, look and listen to make sure there is no
movement. Only touch a part when you are
sureitismotionless.Alwayspayattention!
- It is prohibited for people to stand on any part
of the machine while operating. Whenever it is
necessary to get on the machine for any
adjustmentor repair,turnoffthe motor and wait
until the components/ parts are completely
motionless.
- Keep people and animals away from the pick-
upareaofthemachinewhileitisoperating.
- Do not place the machine on cement blocks,
hollow bricks, of other supports which can
crushfromaprolongedweightload.
- If you notice any abnormality in the operation,
vibrations, different noises etc., turn off the
machine immediately. Check and eliminate the
causebeforeturningonagain.

PN-MASTER 3000
The Forage Chopper PN-Master 3000 has
simple and efficient running. It is designed to
chop corn, sugar cane, sorghum, elephant
grass etc., as much to make silage as to daily
ration.
The product is inserted through the feeding
nozzle (1). In the machine housing the impeller
(2) chop the product and throw out the particles
fromthechute(3).Thechuteisrotative,allowing
throw out the product to any direction. The
deflector (4), is adjustable to set the particles
throwheight.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
BEFORE OPERATING
Assemblyofthedetachedparts
The parts described below are delivered
disassembled to facilitate the machine
transport.Assembleitaccordingnextsteps:
Feedingnozzle(1)
Install the feeding nozzle (1) according picture
asideandfastenitthroughpin(1a)andcotterpin
(2b),which aretogetherwiththe detacheditems
thatfollowthemachine.
Rotarydischargetube(2)
Install the discharge tube (2) on the nozzle (2a)
according picture below, fastening it with three
bolts(2b),threesprings(2c)andsixnuts(2d).
Note:
Observe the correct assemble position
oftheelementsbyside.
Fastenthenuts(2d)to press the spring
(2c), so that it is possible to rotate the
chute(2)manuallywithoutdoingalotof
effort.

Rack(3)
If the rack (3) is disassembled, assemble it
accordingnextsteps:
a) Assemble the rubber cushion (3a) according
detail below, using the bolts (3b) + plain washer
+springwasher+nut.
b)Assemble the rails (3c) on illustrated position
below, using a bolt on each side (3d) + two plain
washers+onenut.
c) Install the spindles (3e) according the picture,
usingthreenuts(3f)onrearpart.
NOTE: All the bolts, nuts and washers used in
thatassemblywhichfollowthemachine.

Install the Forage Chopper on the rack (3) and
fasten it with four bolts (4a) + plain washers and
thenuts.

Electricmotor
IMPORTANT: Seerequiredmotorpoweronthis
manual.
Install the motor on the rails (3c) and fasten it
withthebolts(4b)+plainwashersandnuts.
c) Make the alignment between the motor’s
pulley and the machine’s pulley (5), moving the
motoraccordingnecessary.
d) If you get the alignment, re-tighten the nuts
(4b).

a) Remove front cover (5a) releasing four nuts
(5b-twoupperandtwounder).
b) Install the pulley (5) on motor axle with one
key.
NOTE: Incase it is necessary to movethemotor
transversely (see arrows below) to do the
assembly of the pulley (5), loosen the screws
(4b).

When you operate the forage chopper, adjust the
chute position (1) and the deflector (2) according
nextsteps:
Chute(1)
Turn the chute manually according desired
position. If necessary, release the nut (1a) to turn
thechuteeasily.Then,retightenthenuts(1a)alittle
bit.
Deflector(2)
Loosen the wing nut (2a) and position the deflector
asdesired.
The more lifted up is the deflector, higher and far
awaytheproductwillbethrownandvice-versa.
Then,re-tigtenthenut(2a).

a)Turnthechute(1)tothedesireddirection,accordinginstructionsonpreviouspage.

d) Put the product on feeding nozzle (3) on continuously way as possible and in quantity compatible
withthemachineandfeedingnozzlecapacity.
NOTE:Thenewbundlemustbeplacedoverthepreviousone,sothemachinehasbeenmoreuniform
amountofproductcomingin.
Thatitwillalwaysdoauniformandonselectedsizecut.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS CHOPPER KNIVES
SHARPENING
Greaselubricatingpoints
Lubricate each 8 work hours or daily the rear
and frontal bearing chopper (see pictures
below),usingagreasepump.
Recommendedgrease
LithiumsoapbasegreaseGrade2.
Note:
Lubricate after a work period,
because the grease flows better
whenthemachineisstillwarn.
Use the common sense regarding
the amount of grease to be applied.
Avoidoverstatement!
This operation is more important on machine
maintenance, because aim at good
performanceanddurabilityoftheknives(1).The
sharpeness should be made in such a way to
preserve the characteristics of the knives and
thetemperingofthesteel.
Sharpen the knives when you see that the
qualityoftheparticlesisdecreasing.
Procedure:
a) Loosen the latch (2) and open cover (3) from
themotorcompartment;
b) Lock the impeller (4) with a wood shim to
avoidthatitturnduringboltremoval(5);
c) Remove bolts and nuts (5) and remove the
knives(1).

IMPORTANT:Sharpenalwaysalltheknives!
d) Sharpen each knife with an appropriate
emery, avoiding overheating and variation on
wirecolor.
Seethepicturebelow:
IMPORTANT:
- Don’t cool hot knifes with water. It can cause
lashing.
- Do not sharpen the knife chamfered surface,
butthecuttingedgeonly.
Maintainthecuttingangle.
Notes:
1- Hold the knifes (1) on correct
position (inclination), according
picture aside, to maintain the cutting
angle.
2- Its necessary to use glasses and
glovestomakethesharpening.
3- If the knives don’t make possible
more sharpening or turning, replace
thekit.
Neverreplaceonlyoneoftheknives.
e) Let the impeller (4) locked with a wood shim
and reinstall the knifes (1), observing the correct
fastening position: the face with the chamfer
should be returned for the rear of the Forage
Chopper,accordingtopicturebelow.
f) VERY IMPORTANT: After to assemble and to
tighten all knives, check the gap between knifes
and the counter knife, according instructions on
nextitem.

This adjustment must be done after the
sharpenornewknifesinstallation.
a) Remove the feeding chute (1) loosing the pin
(2).
b) Loosen (but don’t remove) the impeller
fasteningbolts(3).
c) Displace the impeller (4) manually forward,
approximatingtheknifes(5)nearestaspossible
againstthecounterknife(6).
IMPORTANT: It cannot have interference
betweentheknivesandcounter-knifeduringthe
operation. Therefore, Nogueira recommends a
minimumgap0,05to0,15mm.
d) Check the gap through feeding nozzle (7),
turningtheimpeller(4)manuallyandslowly.
e) After the adjustment, tighten the bolts (3) to
fastentheimpeller(4)oncorrectposition.
f) Reinstall the chute (1) and close the impeller
compartmentcover.

IMPORTANT: The counter knife has four operation edges (positions) (A, B, C and D), according
illustratedbelow:

Whenallsidesareworn(rounded),replaceit.
NOTE: Counter knife with rounded edge cause unlevel cut, product shredding and waste driving
power.
Todisassemblethecounterknife,removethenuts(2).
Thereafter the counter knife assembly check the play between the knives and impeller,
accordingdescribedonpreviousitem.

Check the belt tension (1) every 50 work hours
orweekly.
Todoit:
a) Remove front cover (5a) loosing the four nut
(3-twoupperandtwolower).
b) Check the tension pressing the belts (1) at a
pointindicatedoncentralpoint.
The belt clearance must be between 5 mm
and10mm.
c) To adjust the clearance, if necessary, move
themotorlongitudinally(seearrowsaside).
Todoit:
-Loose(don’tremove)thefournuts(4);
-Loosethenut(5)ofthetightenerspindles(6);
- Fasten the nut (7), moving the motor as
necessary;
-Ifadjusted,fastenthenuts(5and8);
-Reinstallthecover(2).

Notes:
1- Grease, oil and dust attack the
belts, generating premature
damaging. Therefore, maintain the
beltsalwaysveryclean.
2- If the belts present drying, peeling
and/ or free fibers, change them
immediately.
