manual contain operating instructions and when properly abided by assure
good operation, safety, and durability of your NOGUEIRA Forage Wagon.

There is an identification plate fastened on the machine, which displays the
manufacturing serial number. Write this number on the guarantee certificate
in the end of this manual. This information is extremely important for
identifying your machine.

- Never try to clean or remove scraps of products when the machine is turned on. Disconnect from
the power take-off and wait until the machine is completely motionless before touching any part of
themachine.
- Keep away from the conveyor belt, decompactor roller and the unloader helix transporter while
operating.
-Neverputyourhands,feet,oranyotherpartofyourbodynearthemovingconveyorbelt,rollers,or
helixtransporter.
-Whileunloading,stayoutsideoftheareawheretheproductisbeingunloaded.Alwayskeepasafe
distancefromthemachinewhenitisoperating.
- Never touch the chains or gears when the machine is turned on. Keep your hands away from the
movingparts.
- Keep the safety adhesive labels in good condition and legible. Replace them whenever
necessary.
- Keep all the shields and protections in their proper locations and do not operate the machine
withoutthembeinginstalled.
- It is prohibited to stand on the tow hitch, feed mixer, or inside the wagon when it is operating or
transporting a load. Whenever, it is necessary to get on the machine to perform any adjustment,
repair, or manual moving of a store product, disconnect the wagon from the power take-off of the
tractor,removetheignitionkey,andwaitforalltheparts/componentstobemotionless.
-Nevertrytocleanorunblocktheunloaderhelixtransporterortheconveyorbeltwhenthemachine
isturned on.Always turnoffthe tractorand removethe ignitionkey beforeperforming anycleaning
ormaintenancejobonthemachine.
-Donottrytoremovethesafetyshieldswhenthemachineisturnedon.
- Disconnect the power take-off and remove the ignition key from the tractor before stretching the
chainsorunloaderconveyorbelt.
- Moving components, due to inertia, continue moving for some time even after the machine is
turned off. So, before touching any component or part, disconnect the actuation source, look and
listen to see if there is any sign of movement. Only touch the component if you are sure it is
motionless.Alwayspaycloseattention!
-Ifitisnecessarytoworkonthemachinewhenitishydraulicallysuspended,itisnecessarytoplace
it on supports for extra safety. Hydraulic mechanisms can slip without warning or due to leakage
andcauseanaccident.Neverbraceamachineoncementblocksorhollowbricksorothersupports
astheycancrushundertheprolongeffectfromtheheavyload.
-Examinethelocationbeforestartingtowork.Putmarkingsindangerousplacesorwherethereare
obstacleswhichcanbedangeroustooperatingthemachine.

- If you observe any abnormality in the operation: vibrations, different noises etc., turn off the
machineimmediately.Checkandeliminatethecausebeforeturningitonagain.
-Neveroperatethedriveshaftwithoutthesafetyshielding.
- Never operate the machine inside closed environments and without ventilation, as gases are
releasedbythetractormotor,whicharetoxicandextremelyharmfultoyourhealth.
-Thetractormustalwaysbemaneuverable.Placecounterweightsonthefronttirestokeepenough
contactwiththeground.
- Be especially careful when coupling and uncoupling the machine from the tractor. Check to see if
thecouplingpiniswell-latched.Alwaysinstallthecotterpinsothepindoesnotunlatchaccidentally.
- When towing the machine carrying a load; we recommending being careful and slowing down in
ordertoavoidaccidents.
- Pay extra attention when working on sloped terrains. If you notice any imbalance, reduce
acceleration.Alwayskeepthetractorengagedwhengoingdownhill.
- When driving the tractor with the machine on public roadways, obey the current valid legislations
regardingthemaximumheightoftheload,especiallywhengoingunderoverpasses.
- Never leave the tractor when the machine is turned on. Stop the motor, disconnect it from the
powertake-off,engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromtheignitionbeforegettingout.
- Comply with and do not exceed the maximum load capacity recommended for your Forage
Wagon.
-Donotusethisequipmentforapplicationswhicharenotmentionedandconsideredunacceptable
in the manual and not authorized by the manufacturer. Making adaptations or using after-market
partscan compromise theoperation, be dangerousto the safetyof the operator,andinvalidate the
guarantee.
-Bepreparedincaseofanaccident.Keepafirst-aidkiteasilyaccessible.Knowhowtouseit.
- Follow the safety recommendations and pay attention. Lack of attention while operating can
causeaccidents.

Safety adhesive labels
Read the instruction manual before
turning on the machine. Pay close
attention to all the operating and safety

Turn off the tractor and remove the key
from the ignition before performing any
maintenance, adjustment, lubrication,
cleaning jobs etc., on the machine.

Coupling to the tractor
TheForageWagonmustbecoupledtothetractortowhitch.
NOTE:Itcanalsobeuseddirectlyinharvesting,coupletoaNogueiraForageHarvester.
COUPLINGTOTHETRACTOR:
RemovethecouplingpinfromtowhitchA.
DrivethetractortowardsthemachinesothatthetowbarfitsintothetowhitchoftheForageWagon.
InsertthecouplingpinAandlatchB.
IMPORTANT:RemembertoinsertlatchBinthecouplingpin.
NOTES:
Usethejacktoadjusttheheightofthetwohitch.
After coupling, retract the jack and place it in the retracted position. The Wagon with 2 axles is not
equippedwithajack.

Driveshaft preparation and coupling
Beforeoperatingthedriveshaft,itisnecessarytoverifyifthelengthisadequateforthetractor.Most
ofthetimes,itcanbeusedwithoutanyneedforadjustments.
If the driveshaft is too long or too short, adjust the tractor tow bar, adjusting it to the distance
between the machine and the tractor (consult your tractor manual for instructions on adjusting the
towbar).Beforecuttingthedriveshaft,checkallpossiblemannerstouseitintheoriginalsize.Ifitis
necessary to decrease the length, cut equal sizes pieces from the tube and the bar. Also cut the
plasticcovershield.
CHECKINGTHEDRIVESHAFTLENGTH
Before coupling the driveshaft and the machine is hitched, and then turn the steering wheel of the
tractor towards either side (right or left) and then drive the tractor in reverse until the tire almost
touchesthetowhitchofthemachine.Afterthat,followingtheinstructionsbelow:
-Separatethetwopartsofthedriveshaft(maleandfemale).
- Couple the female part to the power take-off of the tractor and the male part to the axle of the
machine.
-Placethemaleandfemalepartssidebyside(fig.07).
-Checkifthereisenoughofplay,50mmatleast,onbothendsofthedriveshaft.
-Ifnecessary,marktheendsforcutting,andleaveatleast50mmplay(fig.07).
-Removethedriveshaftfromthemachineandthetractorandcuttheends.
-Jointhetwopartsofthedriveshaftwhilekeepingtheforksaligned(fig.10).
-Couplethefemalesidetothetractorandthemalesidetotheaxleofthemachine.
WARNING! If there is not enough of play, the driveshaft can be damaged when turning the
machine.

thenperformthefirsttryoutactuationofthemachine.

Driveshaft preparation and coupling
After cutting the parts, use a file to do the finishing on the driveshaft. Lubricate with a thin layer of
grease.
After installing the driveshaft, fasten the safety chains so that it can articulate in any operating
conditions.
Thecutpiecesofthedriveshaftmustbethesamelength.
Itisalwaysnecessarytocheckthelengthofthedriveshaftwhenusingadifferentmodeloftractor.
Cleanand lubricate thepower take-offaxles(in the tractorand themachine)before couplingto the
driveshaft.
Seethedetailedcuttinginstructionsonthepamphletattachedtothedriveshaft.
Alwaysassemblethedriveshaftafteraligningtheends:
We recommend in normal operating conditions for the machine to move in a straight line and
contact area between the male and female parts to be at least 2/3 of the length of the closed
driveshaft (measurement L in the following figure). In the most critical conditions, when making
sharpturns,thismeasurementcannotbelessthan1/3ofthelength(fig.12).
When operating, the articulation angle of the driveshaft cannot exceed 15 (degrees) (fig.13). We
recommenddisconnectingthepowertake-offwhenturningthecoupledmachine.

Height adjustment of the (VFN 5000) unloader
Operation
The VFN 5000 is shipped from the factory adjusted to the typical unloading height. Its chassis is
equippedwith adevice foradjustingthe unloadingheight, makingitpossible toadapt thewagon to
diversefeedingtroughheights.
Beforeturningonthewagon,checkthefollowing:
-Makesure,therearenopeopleofanimalsnearby.Theymustbekeptawayatasafedistancefrom
themachine.
-Makesurethedriveshaftiswelllatched(tothetractorandthewagon).
AftertheWagonisproperlycoupled,startthetractormotor,turnonthepowertake-offandincrease
theaccelerationlittlebylittle,untilreaching540RPM(inmosttractors,540RPMinthepowertake-
offcorrespondstobetween1700to2100RPMonthetachometer).
IMPORTANT:While filling the Wagonfrom harvesting, do not unload the product around the
decompactor rollers. The excess product around the rollers hinders the operation of these
rollers,whichcancausethefusetobreakwhenstartingtounloadintothefeedtrough.
During the first few hours of operation, constantly check the unloading conveyor belt.
Removeanyexcessiveplay,byadjustingthechains,asdescribedinthismanual.
ADJUSTMENT:
-RemovescrewsAfromthe3turnbucklesB.
-Usingarod,turnthe3turnbucklesB,movingthewagonbodyequally.
-Whenyoureachthedesiredheight,assemblethe6screwsagainA.
CAREFUL!
Do not perform the following described adjustment without first securely
immobilizing the machine (with chocks). We recommend letting the authorized
NogueiraResellerperformthisadjustment.

Unloader options
Dispenser (optional)
-HELIXTRANSPORTER:
This is recommended for unloading corn,
sorghum, sugarcane, and grasses, except for
pre-driedproducts.
Wagons equipped with Feed Dispensers are
supplied only with a helix transporter system,
whichare alsoresponsible formixing feedwith
forage.
Connect the two hoses from the hydraulic
systemtocontrolthequantitycomingoutofthe
dispenser, activate the hydraulic control valve
and watch the movement of the pointer on the
dispenser scale, until it reaches the desired
position.
The DISPENSER makes it possible to automatically add feeds to forage. Open the two covers
present on the top part of the wagon and load the product. In the back of the dispenser, there is an
opening from where the added product is unloaded and mixed with the forage. The flow of the
product is controlled by a valve and based on its opening, it controls the quantity of the product
addedtotheforage.

There is a dispenser scale found on the front cover of the wagon, for defining the product flow. The
settingsonthisscaledefinetheprecisebalanceofthemixture.
-CONVEYORBELTFORPRE-DRIED:
The rubber conveyor belt is especially
designed for unloading pre-dried products,
such as: alfalfa, oatmeal, ryegrass, coast-
cross,rhodes,tifton,andothersfromanyother
type of harvest, it can also be used for corn,
sorghum,sugarcaneorgrasssilage.

Openthedispenseragain(the pointerin5)positionand letitflowfor1 minute.Weightheunloaded
product,andthisishowtocalculatetheflowperkg/min.
IMPORTANT: The above test measures the actual flow of the product in the 5 position, then to
increaseordecreasetheflow,movethescaletomoreorless,basedonyourneeds.
