I. Introduction
These Instructions For Use contain Information and Safety Precautions on the
PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor Nebulizer System. The PRONEB®ULTRA II
compressor is a AC-powered air compressor intended to provide a source of
compressed air for use with jet nebulizers. The PRONEB®ULTRA II compressor is
intended for adult and pediatric patients. Open the inside front cover to view
illustrations for setup of your PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor. The illustrations will
be referenced throughout these Instructions For Use. Separate Instructions For Use
are included with the enclosed PARI Reusable Nebulizer.
Before using your PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor, you should read and
understand the entire Instructions For Use for both the PRONEB®ULTRA II
Compressor, and the PARI Reusable Nebulizer. Take special note of all safety
precautions marked DDAANNGGEERRand WWAARRNNIINNGG. Save these Instructions For Use for
future reference.

Read all warnings and instructions before use. Use the
product only for its intended use as described in these
Instructions For Use. Improper use can result in serious or
fatal illness/injury, improper treatment or property damage.
Use only with nebulizers and tubing authorized by PARI for
this device. Other nebulizers and tubing may result in
improper treatment.
When using electrical and medical products, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from electrocution:
1. Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled
into a bathtub, sink, water, or other liquid. Do not place in or
drop into water or other liquid. Do not use while bathing.
2. Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water or other
liquid. Unplug immediately.
3. Always unplug this product immediately after using.
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from
electrocution, fire or burns and to reduce the risk of damage
and malfunction to the unit:
1. Before use, check the serial number label on the
bottom of the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor to ensure that
the voltage and current indicated on the unit correspond to
the voltage and current available.
2. Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug,
if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged,
or if it has been exposed to any liquids inside the case. Return
the product to an authorized PARI Service Center for
examination and repair.
3. Keep all electrical cords away from heated surfaces. Do not
overload wall outlets or use extension cords.
4. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug.
5. Never block the air vents of this product or place it on a soft
surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air vents may be
blocked. Keep the air vents free of lint, hair, and similar
substances. Blockage could cause excessive heat buildup. A
product should never be left unattended when plugged in.
6. Do not operate outdoors.
7. Do not operate where oxygen is being administered in a
closed environment such as an oxygen tent.
8. Never drop or insert any object into any openings.
9. Be sure the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor is unplugged
prior to cleaning.
10. Do not open or disassemble the PRONEB®ULTRA II
Compressor. Refer all servicing to an authorized PARI Service
Center.
11. This device needs special precautions regarding EMC and
must be installed and put into service according to the EMC
information provided in these Instructions For Use.
12. Portable and mobile RF communication devices
can disrupt electrical medical equipment. Technical
electromagnetic compatibility data is available in Section VI of
these Instructions For Use.

13. Use only with accessories, transducers, and cables authorized by PARI for this
device. Use of this device with unauthorized accessories, transducers, and cables
may result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic
immunity of the device.
14. This device should not be used adjacent to, or stacked with other equipment. If
adjacent or stacked use is necessary, this device should be observed to verify normal
operation.
15. Suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixture with air or
oxygen or nitrous oxide.
16. When the switch is in the off position and the compressor is not running there
will still be electrical potential inside the unit. To remove power from the compressor
the unit must be unplugged from the wall.
Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by or near the physically
or mentally impaired or children. Never use while sleeping or drowsy. This product
contains small parts that may present a choking hazard to small children. The tubing
also presents a strangulation hazard. Always use close adult supervision when
administering a treatment to a child. DO NOT LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED DURING
TREATMENTS.

IV. Getting Started
1. Check the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor packing box and make sure the
following basic components are included:

If you did not receive the components listed, please contact the dealer where you
purchased your PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor. Some models may include
additional accessories such as an instructional DVD, carrying case, disposable
nebulizer, etc.

2. It is a good idea to always keep an extra PARI LC®
Reusable Nebulizer and extra compressor air filter on hand at
all times. You may need it if parts become lost or damaged.
V. Set-Up
1. Place the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor on a stable, flat
surface. Do not place on cushioned, upholstered, or carpeted
surfaces. Place the unit in an area that is clean and free of
dust. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeAA.
2. Check filter monthly or every 10-12 treatments. Details
regarding when to replace the filter are covered under
"Maintenance" on page 10.
3. Connect the polarized plug on the power cord to a
polarized wall outlet. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeBB. Open the
nebulizer package and read and follow the nebulizer's
Instructions For Use.
5. Clean nebulizer per nebulizer Instructions For Use.
6. It is important to firmly push the Wing Tip™ Tubing all the
way onto the air outlet of the compressor prior to starting the
treatment. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeCC. The tubing is designed
to fit tightly.
7. Turn compressor switch to ON position. Take treatment per
your nebulizer Instructions For Use.
8. Press compressor switch to OFF position at the end of
treatment.
9. Patients who use a 2.5 ml volume fill will generally find that
the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor will deliver the treatment
in less than 10 minutes. Treatment time is always a variable
based on the patient's age and condition. The PRONEB®
ULTRA II Compressor was designed for intermittent use to
deliver respiratory medications, not continuous use for
humidification or prolonged treatments (over 35 minutes at
one time). It is possible that with prolonged treatments the
tubing may get warm and disconnect from the PRONEB®
ULTRA II Compressor. If you are a patient and will be using the
PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor for back to back treatments
that are longer than 35 minutes combined, please contact
PARI Patient Connection at 11..880000..FFAASSTT..NNEEBB((332277..88663322)),,

Note: Your PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor has a nebulizer
holder on the rear of the unit. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeCC. This
nebulizer holder allows the nebulizer to be placed in the rear
of the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor with the Wing Tip™
Tubing attached.

VII. Maintenance Of The PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor
WWiinnggTTiipp™™TTuubbiinnggMMaaiinntteennaannccee::
If there is any moisture or condensation in the Wing Tip™ Tubing after the treatment,
let the compressor run with only the tubing attached for a few minutes. The warm air
from the compressor will dry the moisture or condensation in the tubing. Use a damp
cloth to wipe the exterior of the tubing.
FFiilltteerr::
The Air Filter on the front panel of the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor is bright
white. In time, the Air Filter will turn gray, which means it is time to replace it. You
must replace the filter immediately if it gets wet or becomes clogged. The Air Filter
will last for up to 500 hours before replacement. A good general rule is to replace
the Air Filter whenever you replace your PARI Reusable Nebulizer (every 6 months).
To remove the Air Filter, make sure the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor is turned
off. Use a coin to turn the Air Filter cover counter clockwise. Pull the cap and filter
out and remove the filter from the cap. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeDD. To replace the filter,
press the new filter into the cap with the open end visible. Place the cap and filter
back into the front of the compressor. Use the coin to turn the filter cover clockwise
to tighten. Refer to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeEE.

The customer or the user of the PRONEB

Use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the PRONEB®
ULTRA II Compressor housing and Wing Tip™ Tubing. Refer
to ppaaggee22,,FFiigguurreeFF.
Never spray fluid into the ventilation slots on the PRONEB®
ULTRA II Compressor. Fluid could cause damage to the
electrical and compressor parts and could lead to a
malfunction. In the event that fluid enters the unit, return the
product to an authorized PARI Service Center for examination
and repair.
MMaaiinntteennaanncceeaannddRReeppaaiirr::
Never operate the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor if it is
improperly or incompletely assembled,or damaged. Use only
original PARI parts and attachments authorized by PARI
Service Center for the PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor. Use
of other parts and attachments may damage the unit or cause
improper treatment. Do not open or disassemble the
compressor unit at any time. Repairs, service and
maintenance should be carried out only by an authorized PARI
Service Center.
NNoottee::There are no user serviceable parts inside the
PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor case. Service by anyone
other than an authorized PARI Service Center voids warranty.
VIII. PRONEB®ULTRA II Compressor Limited
Warranty
PARI offers a standard five (5) year warranty on the PRONEB®
ULTRA II Compressor and its parts. The warranty period will
be printed on the serial number label located on the bottom of
the compressor. PARI warrants that the PRONEB®ULTRA II
Compressor and its parts will be free from defects in
workmanship and materials for a period of sixty (60) months,
from the date of first retail purchase of the equipment. This
warranty does not cover failures of the nebulizer, tubing, or
accessories. This warranty does not extend to failures
resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, alteration, use of
unauthorized service; parts or cleaning solutions, or failure to
comply with Instructions For Use. If the warranted equipment
should fail during the warranty period, PARI, at its option, will
repair or replace the equipment or parts at issue, provided the
claim is bona fide. It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser
to pack and return the equipment in a manner to avoid
shipping damage. The shipment must be prepaid to PARI
Respiratory Equipment, Inc. This warranty covers the cost of
labor incurred in the removal or replacement of the warranted
component parts at authorized PARI service centers only. To
make a claim under this warranty, notify the authorized service
center by calling PARI Patient Connection at:

III. Precauciones de Seguridad
PRECAUCIONES IMPORTANTES
LEA COMPLETAMENTE LAS INSTRUCCIONES ANTES DE
UTILIZAR EL PRODUCTO.
PPRREECCAAUUCCIIÓÓNN::la legislación federal de EE.UU. restringe la
venta de este dispositivo a un médico o por prescripción
médica. Utilícelo únicamente por indicación médica y con la
medicación prescrita.
Lea todas las advertencias e instrucciones antes de utilizar el
producto. Úselo únicamente para los fines previstos, tal como
se describe en estas Instrucciones de uso. Un uso
inadecuado puede ocasionar lesiones o enfermedades graves
o mortales, un tratamiento incorrecto o daños a la propiedad.
Use el producto únicamente con los nebulizadores y tubos
autorizados por PARI para este dispositivo. Otros tubos y
nebulizadores pueden producir un tratamiento inadecuado.
Cuando se utilizan productos médicos y eléctricos, y en
especial cuando hay niños presentes, se deben seguir
siempre las precauciones básicas de seguridad, incluidas las
siguientes:
Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones graves o mortales por
electrocución:
1. No coloque ni guarde el producto donde pueda caerse o
alguien pueda tirarlo a una tina o bañera, lavatorio u otro
depósito de agua o líquido. No lo sumerja ni lo deje caer en
agua u otro líquido. No lo use mientras se baña.
2. No intente sacar un producto que se haya caído en el agua
o en otro líquido. Desconéctelo inmediatamente.
3. Desconecte siempre el producto inmediatamente después
dE usarlo.
Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones graves o mortales por
electrocución, incendio o quemaduras y reducir el riesgo de
daños y problemas de funcionamiento de la unidad:
1. Antes de usar el compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II, revise la
etiqueta del número de serie en la parte inferior de la unidad
para asegurarse de que el voltaje y la corriente indicados
coincidan con el voltaje y la corriente disponibles.
2. Nunca utilice este producto si presenta daños en el cable
o en la clavija, si no funciona correctamente, si se ha caído o
dañado, o si le ha entrado líquido. Devuelva el producto a un
centro de servicio PARI autorizado para que lo revisen y lo
reparen.
3. Mantenga todos los cables eléctricos alejados de las
superficies calientes. No sobrecargue los enchufes de la
pared ni use extensiones.
4. Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (una patilla es
más ancha que la otra). Como medida de seguridad, este
enchufe entra en un solo sentido en un tomacorriente
polarizado. Si el enchufe no entra completamente en el
tomacorriente, pruebe a conectarlo en el otro sentido.
5. Nunca bloquee los orificios de ventilación del producto ni lo
coloque sobre una superficie blanda, como una cama o un
sillón, donde puedan quedar tapados los orificios de
ventilación. Manténgalos libres de pelusas, cabellos y
suciedad. El bloqueo de estos orificios puede ocasionar un
aumento excesivo de calor. Nunca deje el producto
desatendido mientras esté conectado.
6. No use el producto en exteriores.
7. No use el producto en lugares cerrados donde se esté
administrando oxígeno (por ejemplo, bajo una campana de
oxígeno).
8. Nunca inserte ni deje caer objetos en ninguna de las

9. Asegúrese de que el compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II esté desconectado antes de
limpiarlo.
10. No abra ni desarme el compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II. Todas las operaciones
de servicio deben realizarse en un centro de servicio PARI autorizado.
11. Este dispositivo posee precauciones especiales relacionadas con la

14. No use el dispositivo junto o sobre otros equipos. Si es indispensable utilizarlo

16. Cuando el interruptor está en la posición “Off” y el compresor no está en

Es necesaria una estrecha vigilancia cuando se utiliza este producto en lugares
donde hay niños o personas con limitaciones físicas o mentales. Nunca lo utilice
mientras duerme o si está somnoliento. Este producto contiene piezas pequeñas

IV. Para Empezar
1. Revise el contenido de la caja del compresor PRONEB®
ULTRA II y asegúrese de que incluya los siguientes

Si no recibió todos los componentes indicados, póngase en
contacto con el distribuidor que le vendió el compresor
PRONEB®ULTRA II. Algunos modelos pueden incluir
accesorios adicionales, como un DVD de instrucciones, un
estuche, un nebulizador desechable, etc.
2. Es conveniente tener siempre disponibles un nebulizador
reutilizable PARI LC®adicional y otro filtro de aire para el
compresor. Puede necesitarlos si las piezas se pierden o se
dañan.
V. Instalación
1. Coloque el compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II sobre una
superficie plana y estable. No lo coloque sobre superficies
blandas, tapizadas o alfombradas. Coloque la unidad en un
lugar limpio y sin polvo. Consulte la ppáággiinnaa22,,ffiigguurraaAA.
2. Revise el filtro una vez al mes o cada 10-12 tratamientos.
La información referente a cuándo hay que cambiar el filtro se
describe en "Mantenimiento", en la página 20.
3. Conecte el enchufe polarizado del cable de alimentación a
un tomacorriente polarizado en la pared. Consulte la ppáággiinnaa22,,
ffiigguurraaBB.
4. Abra el paquete del nebulizador, y lea y siga las
instrucciones de uso correspondientes.
5. Limpie el nebulizador como se indica en las instrucciones
de uso.
6. Es importante insertar firmemente el tubo Wing Tip™ hasta
el fondo de la salida de aire del compresor antes de iniciar el
tratamiento. Consulte la ppáággiinnaa22,,ffiigguurraaCC. El tubo está
diseñado para que ajuste perfectamente.
7. Encienda el interruptor del compresor (posición ON).
Administre el tratamiento siguiendo las instrucciones de uso
del nebulizador.
8. Apague el interruptor del compresor (posición OFF) cuando
termine el tratamiento.
9. Los pacientes que usan un volumen de 2,5 ml observarán
que el compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II administra el
tratamiento en menos de 10 minutos. El tiempo de
tratamiento varía siempre según la edad y el estado del
paciente. El compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II está diseñado
para administrar medicamentos respiratorios de forma
intermitente y no para un uso continuo como humidificador ni
para tratamientos largos (de más de 35 minutos en una sola
sesión). Es posible que con un tratamiento largo el tubo se
caliente y se desconecte del compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II.
Si es usted un paciente y tiene previsto usar el compresor
PRONEB®ULTRA II de manera alterna con otra persona en
tratamientos con una duración combinada de más de 35
minutos, póngase en contacto con el servicio de atención al
paciente de PARI (PARI Patient Connection), llamando al 11--

Nota: su compresor PRONEB®ULTRA II tiene un soporte
