This document contains general information on Petzl pulleys; for the
complete product information, see also the specific product instructions.
These instructions explain how to correctly use your equipment. Only certain
techniques and uses are described.
The warning symbols inform you of some potential dangers related to the use of
your equipment, but it is impossible to describe them all. Check Petzl.com for
updates and additional information.
You are responsible for heeding each warning and using your equipment correctly.
Any misuse of this equipment will create additional dangers. Contact Petzl if you
have any doubts or difficulty understanding these instructions.
1. Field of application
This equipment is personal protective equipment (PPE) used for fall protection.
Pulley for use only on rope.
This product must not be loaded beyond its strength rating, nor be used for any
purpose other than that for which it is designed.
WARNING
Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently dangerous.
You are responsible for your own actions and decisions.
Before using this equipment, you must:
- Read and understand all instructions for use.
- Get specific training in its proper use.
- Become acquainted with its capabilities and limitations.
- Understand and accept the risks involved.
Failure to heed any of these warnings may result in severe injury or death.
Responsibility

This product must only be used by competent and responsible persons, or those
placed under the direct and visual control of a competent and responsible person.
Gaining an adequate apprenticeship in appropriate techniques and methods of
protection is your own responsibility.
You personally assume all risks and responsibilities for all damage, injury or death
which may occur during or following incorrect use of our products in any manner
whatsoever. If you are not able, or not in a position to assume this responsibility or
to take this risk, do not use this equipment.
2. Nomenclature of parts
(1) Side plates, (2) Sheave, (3) Axle, (4) Sealed ball bearing, (4bis) Self-lubricating
bushings (depending on pulley type).
3. Inspection, points to verify
Your safety is related to the integrity of your equipment.
Petzl recommends a detailed inspection by a competent person at least once every
12 months (depending on current regulations in your country, and your conditions
of usage). Follow the procedures described at Petzl.com. Record the results on
your PPE inspection form: type, model, manufacturer contact info, serial number or
individual number, dates: manufacture, purchase, first use, next periodic inspection;
problems, comments, inspector’s name and signature.
Before each use
Verify there are no cracks, deformation, corrosion...
Verify that the sheaves turn freely and that they are not worn out. Verify the play
and deformation of the side plates. Verify that the sheaves do not rub against the
side plates.
During each use
Make sure that all pieces of equipment in the system are correctly positioned with
respect to each other.
It is important to regularly monitor the condition of the product and its connections
to the other equipment in the system.
4. Compatibility
For all of your applications, verify the compatibility of this product with the other
elements of your system (compatibility = good functional interaction).
- Attach your pulleys with locking carabiners.
- Verify the size and shape of the connectors (rope clamps must not be in contact
with the pulleys).
- Make sure to properly connect all of the pulley’s side plates.
- WARNING, if the rope’s diameter is too small, it can jam bewteen a sheave and
a side plate.
WARNING, dynamic movements of the load (yo-yo effect) and movements
due to the lifting effort can multiply the forces on the anchor and on other
elements of the system by a factor of two or more. Verify the strength
compatibility of the other elements in the system. Avoid shock loads.
- Any equipment used with the pulleys (anchors, ropes, locking connectors) must
conform to applicable standards and/or regulations.
Contact Petzl if you are uncertain about the compatibility of your equipment.
5. Strength
5A. Maximum working load
5B. Breaking strength
If you install a frame-loaded rope clamp (progress capture) on a pulley, the breaking
strength of the system is limited by the strength of the rope in the rope clamp, which
is from 4 to 6.5 kN for Petzl frame-loaded rope clamps, depending on the rope
used, (for other rope clamps, see the manufacturer’s specifications).
6. Efficiency
6A. Simple pulley system
Simple pulley system with progress capture
Theoretically (theoretical force), the force F necessary to raise a load P is equal to
the load P. In reality, there is friction in the system. For example with a carabiner, this
relationship is F = 2P and with a pulley, depending in its efficiency, the relationship
is F = 1,1 to 1.4 P.
6B. 2:1 hauling system
You need a longer rope (twice the haul distance).

These tests were done with new 8 mm semi-static ropes and a mass of 80 kg, at
low speed.
7. Progress capture systems
WARNING: For systems with progress capture, before each use, verify the rope is
correctly installed and test the progress capture system (verify the rope jams in the
desired direction). Pulley efficiency can vary depending on the condition of the rope:
wet and/or icy.
8. Positioning and redirection
When using a directional pulley, be aware that the load on the pulley (and its anchor)
varies according to the angle formed by the rope.
9. Additional information
This product meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on personal
protective equipment. The EU declaration of conformity is available at Petzl.com.
When to retire your equipment:
WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one
use, depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage
(harsh environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures,
chemicals...).
A product must be retired when:
- It has been subjected to a major fall (or load).
- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.
- You do not know its full usage history.
- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment...
Destroy these products to prevent further use.

3. Contrôle, points à vérifier
Votre sécurité est liée à l’intégrité de votre équipement.
Petzl conseille une vérification approfondie, par une personne compétente, au
minimum tous les 12 mois (en fonction de la réglementation en vigueur dans votre
pays et de vos conditions d’utilisation). Respectez les modes opératoires décrits
sur le site Petzl.com. Enregistrez les résultats sur la fiche de vie de votre EPI : type,
modèle, coordonnées du fabricant, numéro de série ou numéro individuel, dates
: fabrication, achat, première utilisation, prochains examens périodiques, défauts,
remarques, nom et signature du contrôleur.
Avant toute utilisation
Vérifiez l’absence de fissures, déformations, corrosion...
Vérifiez la bonne rotation des réas, l’usure des réas. Vérifiez le jeu et la déformation
des flasques. Vérifiez l’absence de frottement entre les réas et les flasques.
Pendant l’utilisation
Assurez-vous du bon positionnement des équipements les uns par rapport aux
autres.
Il est important de contrôler régulièrement l’état du produit et de ses connexions
avec les autres équipements du système.
4. Compatibilité
Vérifiez la compatibilité de ce produit avec les autres éléments du système dans
chacune de vos applications (compatibilité = bonne interaction fonctionnelle).
- Connectez vos poulies avec des mousquetons à verrouillage.
- Vérifiez la taille et la forme des connecteurs (les bloqueurs ne doivent pas être en
contact avec les poulies).
- Veillez à bien connecter tous les flasques de la poulie.
- ATTENTION, une corde de diamètre trop petit peut se coincer entre le réa et le
flasque.
ATTENTION, les mouvements dynamiques de la masse (effet yo-yo) et le
hissage dynamique peuvent multiplier par deux (voire plus) les efforts sur le
point d’ancrage et les autres éléments du système. Vérifiez la compatibilité
de résistance des autres éléments du système et évitez les chocs.
- Les éléments utilisés avec les poulies doivent être conformes aux règlements en
vigueur (ancrages, cordes, connecteurs à verrouillage).

5. Résistance
5A. Valeur d’utilisation maximum
5B. Charge de rupture
Si vous installez un bloqueur à gâchette (anti-retour) sur une poulie, la charge de
rupture du système est limitée par la résistance de la corde dans le bloqueur, c’est-
à-dire de 4 à 6,5 kN suivant les cordes pour les bloqueurs Petzl à gâchette, (pour
les autres bloqueurs voir les spécifications du fabricant).
6. Rendement
6A. Renvoi simple
Renvoi simple avec anti-retour
Théoriquement (force théorique), l’effort F nécessaire pour soulever une charge
P est égal à cette charge P. En réalité, il y a des frottements. Par exemple sur un
mousqueton F = 2P et sur une poulie, suivant le rendement de cette poulie, le
rapport est F = 1 à 1,4 P.
6B. Mouflage 1/2
Vous avez besoin d’une longueur de corde supplémentaire (deux fois la hauteur de
déplacement).
6C. Mouflage 1/3 avec anti-retour
6D. Mouflage 1/4 avec anti-retour pour les poulies doubles
Ces tests ont été réalisés avec des cordes neuves semi-statiques de 8 mm de
diamètre et une masse de 80 kg en vitesse lente.
7. Systèmes anti-retour
ATTENTION, pour les systèmes avec anti-retour, avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez le
sens d’installation de la corde et testez le blocage de la corde. Le rendement des
poulies peut varier en fonction de l’état de la corde : mouillée et/ou gelée.
8. Positionnement et renvoi
Soyez attentif aux efforts engendrés en fonction des angles lorsque vous utilisez une
poulie en renvoi de charge.
9. Informations complémentaires
Ce produit est conforme au règlement (UE) 2016/425 relatif aux équipements de
protection individuelle. La déclaration de conformité UE est disponible sur Petzl.

Mise au rebut :
ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un produit
après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d’utilisation, environnements d’utilisation
: milieux agressifs, milieux marins, arêtes coupantes, températures extrêmes,
produits chimiques...).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :
- Il a subi une chute importante (ou effort).
- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n’est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute
sur sa fiabilité.
- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d’utilisation.
- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d’autres équipements...).
Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

1. Rozsah použití

ktorý je určený.

3. Kontrolne body
Pred každým použitím
Skontrolujte, či na výrobku nie sú žiadne praskliny, deformácie, korózie, atď .Overte voľný chod kotúča a jeho
opotrebenia. Overte pohyb a prípadnou deformáciou bočníc. Skontrolujte, či kotúče nedrhnú o bočnice.
Počas používania
Vždy sa presvedčte, či sú jednotlivé prvky systému spojené ači sú vzájomne v správnej pozícii. Je dôležité
pravidelne kontrolovaťstav výrobku a jeho spojenie s ostatnými prvkami systému. Podrobnosti o periodických
prehliadkach jednotlivých osobných ochranných pracovných prostriedkov nájdete na webových stránkach
www.petzl.com/ppe alebo na špeciálnom CD-ROMu .Ak máte akékoľvek pochybnosti o stave výrobku,

4. Zlučiteľnosť
Pri každom použití si overte, či je tento výrobok zlučiteľný s ostatnými súčasťami vašej výbavy (zlučiteľnosť =
dobrá spolupráca jednotlivých prvkov systému).
Kladky pripojujte spojkami s poistkou zámku.
Overte veľkosť a tvar spojek (blokanty sa nesmú dotýkať kladiek).
POZOR, lano o malom priemere sa môže zablokovať medzi bočnicou a kotúčom kladky.
UPOZORNENIE, dynamické pohyby bremena ("jo jo efekt") a pohyby vzniknuté zábermi pri vyťahovaní
môžu znásobiť sily v kotviacich bodoch a jednotlivých elementoch systému dva i viackrát. Overte si
pevnosť ostatných prvkov systému. Vyhnite sa rázovému zaťaženiu.
- Akékoľvek ostatné vybavenie používané s kladkami (kotviace
prostriedky, lana, spojky, atd.) musí odpovedať daným normám alebo
predpisom. Ak máte pochybnosti o zlučiteľnosti výrobku, kontaktujte
firmu Petzl.

5. Hodnoty
5A. Maximálne povolené pracovné zaťaženie
5B. Mez pevnosti v ťahu
Pokiaľ na kladku pripojíte blokant s rukoväťou (vyťahovací systém s poistkou proti preklzu), je mez pevnosti v
ťahu limitovaná pevností lana v blokantu, čo je hodnota okolo 4 - 6,5 kN u blokantu s rukoväťou firmy Petzl, v
závislosti na použitom lane (u blokantu iných značiek preštudujte ich návody k použitiu).
6. Účinnosť kladkostrojov:
6A. Jednoduchý kladkostroj:
Jednoduchý kladkostroj s poistkou proti preklzu Teoreticky (teoretická sila) je sila F potrebná ku zdvihnutiu
bremena P rovná váhe bremena. V skutočnosti v systému pôsobí trenie. Napríklad so spojkou je tento vzťah F =
2P a s kladkou v závislosti na jej účinnosti je to F = 1,1 až 1,4P.
6B. Kladkostroj 2:1
Je treba dlhšie lano (dvojnásobok zdvíhanej výšky).
6C. Kladkostroj 3 : 1 s poistkou proti preklzu6D. Kladkostroj 4 : 1 s poistkou proti preklzu u dvojitých
kladiek
Tieto skúšky boli prevádzané s 8 mm statickým lanom a 80 kg záťažou, pri malých rýchlostiach.

Všeobecné informácie:
U systémoch zamedzujúcim preklzu pred každým použitím najprv skontrolujte správnu inštaláciu lana a preveďte
skúšku funkčnosti (overte zablokovanie lana v správnom smere).
Pri použití kladky k zmene smeru lana si uvedomte, že zaťaženie kladky (a kotviaceho bodu) závisí na uhle lana.
Životnosť / Kedy vaše vybavenie vyradiť
Životnosť textilných a plastových výrobkov značky Petzl je maximálne 10 rokov od dáta výroby. Neobmedzená u
výrobkov z kovu.
POZOR: niektoré výnimočné situácie môžu spôsobiť okamžité vyradenie výrobku už po prvom použití, to závisí na
druhu, intenzite a prostredí v ktorom je výrobok používaný (znečistené prostredie, ostré hrany, vysoké teploty,
chemikálie, atd.).
Výrobok musí byť vyradený pokiaľ:
- Je starší než 10 rokov a vyrobený z plastu alebo textílií.
- Bol vystavený ťažkému pádu alebo veľkému zaťaženiu.
- Neprejde periodickou prehliadkou. Ak máte pochybnosti o jeho spoľahlivosti.
- Nepoznáte jeho úplnú históriu používania.
- Sa stane zastaralým vzhľadom k legislatíve, normám, technikám alebo zlučiteľnosťou s ostatným vybavením,
atd.
Znehodnotením vyradeného vybavenia zabránite jeho ďalšiemu použitiu.
Periodické prehliadky
Okrem kontroly pred a behom používania výrobku musí byť prevádzaná pravidelná periodická prehliadka (revize)
odborne spôsobilou osobou. Frekvencia pravidelných periodických prehliadok (revízií) musí byť daná spôsobom a
intenzitou používania výrobku. Petzl doporučuje prevádzať tieto prehliadky jedenkrát každých 12 mesiacov.
Pre ľahšiu sledovateľnosť výrobkov neodstraňujte akékoľvek označenie, štítky alebo nálepky.
Výsledky revízií by mali byť zaznamenané v evidenčných listoch s týmito údajmi: druh prostriedku, typ, informácie
o výrobcovi, sériové číslo alebo individuálne číslo, dátum výroby, dátum predaja, dátum prvého použitia, dátum
ďalšej periodickej prehliadky, problémy, komentáre, meno a podpis inšpekcie a užívateľa.

Skladovanie, doprava:
Výrobok uschovávajte na suchom, tienistom mieste mimo dosah UV žiarenia chemikálií, vysokých teplôt, atd.
Pokiaľ je to nutné výrobok očistite a osušte.
Úpravy a opravy:
Úpravy a opravy mimo prevádzky firmy Petzl sú zakázané (mimo vymeniteľných dielov).
3 roky záruka
Na vady materiálu a vady vzniknuté vo výrobe. Nevzťahuje sa na vady vzniknuté: bežným opotrebením a
roztrhnutím, oxidáciou, úpravami alebo opravami, nesprávnym skladovaním, nedostatočnou údržbou,
nedbalosťou, nesprávnym použitím.

PETZL nie je zodpovedný za následky priame, nepriame alebo náhodné ani za škody vzniknuté v priebehu
