Safety Instrucons
Intended Use
The posioner is a laboratory device as dened
by DIN EN 61010-1. It is intended to be used in
interior spaces and in an environment which is
free of dirt, oil and lubricants.
In accordance with its design, the posioner
is intended for posioning and adjusng of
loads at dierent velocies. The posioner is
not intended for applicaons in areas in which
a failure would present severe risks to human
beings or the environment.
The intended use of the posioner is only
possible when completely mounted and con-
nected and only in combinaon with a suitable
controller.
The posioner may only be installed, operated,
maintained and cleaned by authorized and
appropriately qualied personnel.
Installaon
If the drive screw of the posioner is not co-
vered, there is a risk of serious injury from hair,
jewelry or clothing becoming trapped.
XShield areas with rotang components.
XDo not work on an unprotected posioner
with loose hair, hanging jewelry or loose-t-
ng clothing.
There is a risk of minor injuries from crushing
between the moving parts of the posioner or
the load and a xed part or obstacle.
XUse protecve structures to keep limbs
away from areas in which they could be
seized by moving parts.
XMaintain safety distances in accordance
with DIN EN ISO 13857.
Electrostac discharge can damage the posi-
oner.
XIf the posioner is supplied with an ESD
protecve cap: Remove the ESD protecve
cap from the connector rst, when connec-
ng the posioner to the controller.
Mechanical forces can damage or misalign the
posioner.
XObserve the maximum permissible forces
(see manual).
XInclude the masses of the moved posio-
ners in mul-axis systems in the calcula-
ons.
Manually moving the plaorm can cause increa-
sed wear on posioners with a gearhead.
XOnly move the plaorm of posioners with
a gearhead manually if there is no other
possibility for moon.
Collisions can damage the posioner, the load
to be moved and the environment.
XMount the posioner and the load so that
the load cannot get jammed or blocked, or
collide with objects in the workspace.
Unsuitable mounng can warp the posioner
and reduce the accuracy.
XMount the posioner on an even surface
with similar thermal expansion properes
(for recommended evenness, see manual).
A cable break leads to a failure of the posi-
oner.
XInstall the posioner so that the cable is
not bent or squeezed too severely during
operaon.
Heat produced during operaon can aect your
applicaon.
XInstall the posioner so that your applica-
on is not aected by the dissipang heat.
Start-Up
Operang voltages that are too high or incor-
rectly connected can cause damage to the
posioner.
XOnly use compable controllers.
XObserve the operang voltage range of the
posioner (see manual).
XObserve the correct pin assignment (see
manual).
The posioner can carry out an unintenonal
moon when being connected to the controller.
XBefore connecng the posioner, check
whether a macro is dened as the start-up
macro in the controller and cancel the
selecon if necessary.
