Liability.
According to the laws governing product liability, the manufacturer and dealer are obliged to hand the
operating manual to the customer at the time of sale, and to instruct them in the recommended operating,
safety, and maintenance regulations. Confirmation is necessary to prove that the machine and operating
manual have been handed over accordingly.

- document A is to be signed and sent to Pöttinger,
- document B remains with the dealer supplying the machine,
- and the customer receives document C.
In accordance with the laws of product liability, every farmer is an entrepreneur.
According to the laws of product liability, property damage is damage caused by a machine and not to
it. An excess of Euro 500 is provided for such a liabilioty.
In accordance with the laws of product liability, entrepreneurial property damages are excluded from
the liability.
Attention! Should the customer resell the machine at a later date, the operating manual must be given
to the new owner who must then be instructed in the recommended regulations referred to herein.

Travelling with implement in tow
The attached implement influences the travelling
characteristics of the towing vehicle.
• Danger of tipping exists when working on slopes.
• The driving must be adapted to the corresponding
terrain and ground conditions.
• The towing vehicle is to
be sufficiently equiped
with weights at thefront
or at the rear in order to
guarantee the steering
and braking capacity (a
minimum of 20% of the
vehicle'stareweight on
the front axle).
• Transporting people on the implement is not
permitted.
Coupling and uncoupling the implement
• Danger of injury exists when coupling the implement
to the tractor!
• When coupling, do not stand between tractor and
implement while tractor is reversing !
• No-one must enter the area between tractor and
implement unless both vehicles have been secured
against rolling with wheel chocks !
• Drive shaft connection or disconnection is only to
be undertaken when the motor has stopped.

• The trailer‘s load limits (permitted axle load, support
load, total weight) maynot be exceeded.The relevant
details are located on the right side of the trailer.
• In addition, observe the power limits of the tractor
being used.

General safety
hints for the use
of this implement!
Before starting work
a. Before commencing work, the operator must be aware
of all operating devices and functions.The learning
of these is too late after having already commenced
operation!
b. Before commencing any work check that implement
is safe for road travel and operation.
c. The danger of being crushed or cut exists in the Pick-
up, cutting unit, tailgate and upper extension areas.
d. Before driving the vehicle, the driver must ensure that
nobody will be endangered and that no obstructions
are present. If the tractor driver does not have a clear
view of the roadway immediately behind the implement,
he must be guided when reversing.
e. Observe the safety information fixed to implement.
An explanation of what the individual graphic warning
symbols mean can be found on page 5.
f. Observe also the tips in the respective chapters and
in the supplement to this operating manual.
Checking before operation
The following tips should make preparing the implement
for operation easier. Detailled information for individual
points can be found in the respective chapters in this
operating manual.
1. Check that all safety equipment (covers, casings, etc.)
is in good condition and fixed in the proper positions
of protection on the implement
2. Grease and oil the implement according to the
lubrication chart. Check the gearing for tightness and
the oil level.
3. Check that tyres have the correct air pressure.
4. Check that wheel nuts are sitting firmly.
5. Ensure the correct p.t.o.-r.p.m.
6. Make the electrical connections to the tractor and
check that they are correct. Take note of the tips in
the operating manual!
7. Carry out the following adaptions:
• Drawbar height
• Cardan shaft length
8. Secure the implement only with the equipment
provided.
9. Cut drive shaft tocorrect length and checkthat overload
safeguard is functioning (see Supplement)
10. Check the electronic unit function.
11. Connect hydraulic lines to tractor.
• Check hydraulic hoses for damage and wear.
• Ensure the correct connection.
12. All swivelling parts must be secured against dangerous
position changes.
13. Check parking brake and service brake functions.

TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Tractor
To operate this machine the following tractor requirements are
necessary:
- Tractor power: from 52 kW / 70 hp
- Linkage: lower link cat. II
- Connections: see table “Necessary hydraulic and power
connections”
Ballast weight
The front of the tractor is to have sufficient ballast to guarantee braking
and steering abilities
At least 20% of the tractor’s tare weight on the front
axle!
Lifting gear (Three-point linkage)
- The tractor’s lifting gear (three-point linkage) must be designed for
the occurring load (see technical information).
- The lifting struts are to be set at the same length (4) using the relevant
adjusting equipment
(See the tractor manufacturer’s operator’s manual)
- If the lifting struts on the lower linkage can be fixed in various
positions, then select the back position. this will relieve the tractor’s
hydraulic unit.
- The limiting chain or lower link stabilisers (5) are to be set so that
the coupled implement CANNOT move sideways. (Safety measure
for transportation)
Hydraulic positioning control on the lifting gear
The lifting hydraulics are to be switched to positioning
control when:
- transporting
- coupling and uncoupling the machine
- the control has been switched off.

Machine attachment
Hitching the machine to the lifting gear of the tractor.
- Link full floating axle to lower link
- secure coupling bolts (1) properly
- Secure with linch pin (3)
Connecting the cardan shaft
- Turn motor off and remove ignition key
- Clean and grease machine’s attachment profile and tractor’s p.t.o. shaft before attaching cardan shaft.
- Attach wide angle joint (4) to machine first. Then attach cardan shaft to tractor’s p.t.o. shaft
- To prevent protector cap on all shafts from turning, secure it with chain (5)
- Before operation, check lengths of drive shafts and
adapt if necessary (see chapter "Adaption of Drive
Shaft" in supplement B also).
Procedure for cutting to length

Connect hydraulic lines to tractor
- Turn p.t.o. off before connecting

Connect hydraulic lines to tractor
- Turn p.t.o. off before connecting
- Put lever (ST) on the control unit into the floatingposition
(0).
- Take care that snap-lock couplers are clean.
Single-action control unit
Should the tractor only have a single-action servo-valve,
then it is absolutely necessary to have an oil-return pipe
(T) fitted by a specialist.
- Connect pressure hose (1) to the single-action control
unit. Connect oil-return hose (2) to tractor’s oil-return
pipe
Double-action control unit
- Connect pressure line (1) and oil-return pipe (2).
(Pressure line is any line which goes to the pressure
filter on the machine)
LS Line (Optional extra)
- Connect load sensing line to LS connection on the
tractor.
- the tractor must be turned off for this

is carried out using the screw (7) on the

• Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
• Put lever (ST) on the control unit into the floatingposition
(0).
Variant: Power control / ISO bus
With the control panel switched on,
press “Transport position” button to
reduce any existing line pressure in
the machine’s hydraulics.
This makes connecting replacement
hydraulic lines easier.
• Close all stop valves(pos. A)
(only for machines without operating device)
• Disconnect hydraulic lines from tractor.
• Remove pull rope from tractor cabin.
- Place the electro-cable and hydraulic lines in hose
holder receptacle
• Swing jackstand down
- Disengage spring loaded bolt (B)
- Swing jackstand (5a) down and lock into place
• Disconnect cardan shaft (4)
• Firmly apply handbrake (1)
• Disconnect brake lines
Machines with air brakes
• Disconnect air hoses from tractor:
- disconnect red hose coupling first
- then yellow hose coupling
Machines with hydraulic brakes
• Disconnect hydraulic brake hose from rapid action
coupling on tractor
• Secure machine against rolling with wheel chocks
• Disconnect lower link
• Move tractor carefully away

Variant: Standard
• Open all stop valves (pos. E)
• Set servo-valve (ST) to raise briefly to release transport
safety device (T).
• Lower all rotary units using servo-valve (ST)
Tip: Leave the servo-valve (ST) on lower long enough
to allow the hydraulic cylinder to be fully extended.
Only this will guarantee optimum rotor ground
adaptation.

Decrease transport height
1. Swing hoop guard back
Swinging hoop guard back (6) back should only be
carried out when necessary, e.g. to reduce implement’s
total height
• Swing hoop guard (6) inward per rotor and secure with
spring cotter pin (6a)
2. Remove tine arms
Removal of tine arms (1) should only be carried out
when necessary, e. g. to reduce implement's total
height.
• Pin 4 tine arms (1) per rotor to the retaining bar on the
running frame and secure with linch pin (1a)

For safety reasons,

Variant: Power control / ISO bus
The step sequence for changing from working position to off-road position is realized automatically through the
control
The mechanical step sequence control is therefore not available!
Details of the setting possibilities:
- See chapter “Power control – CONFIG menu”
- See chapter “ISO bus – Terminal, Set menu)
Variant: Standard
Changing from working position to off-road working
position is carried out with a mechanical Step sequence
control.
Step sequence control: (mounted on the front right
rotor).
* For lifting:
Lifting the rear rotor begins path-offset *) to the front
rotor to enable the swath to be properly formed.
* For lowering:
Lowering the rear rotor begins path-offset *) to the
front rotor. This will not damage any possibly existing
swaths.
Setting possibilities:
The height of the front rotor is adjusted using the adjusting
screw (1) on the upper lift limit (oH).
Example: Screw adjusting screw (1) in -> the
front rotors are lifted higher in the off-road
position. (Base setting (GS): 360mm)
The path-offset of the rear rotor is adjusted using the
adjusting screw (2) on the lower lift (uH).
Example: Screw adjusting screw (2) in -> the
rear rotors are lifted sooner to the off-road
position. (Base setting (GS): 295mm)
Control rope (SZ)
The control rope (SZ) prevents a change from working
position or off-road position to transport position when
front right rotor is extended.
Be aware! Incorrectly set control rope
tension influences the step sequence control
function.

Only transport the machine in the transport position!
Driving on public roads
• Observe the official regulations of your country.
• Travelling on open roads may only be carried out as
described in chapter "Transport position".
• Protection devices must be in proper condition.

Button functions
Selection buttons for “Rotary units”
• These buttons have a selection function
- By pressing the button once the relevant rotary unit
is preselected or re-selected
• The swivelling function will then be carried out by
pressing the buttons
- “Raise selected rotary units from
working position to off-road position”
or
- “Lower selected rotary units from off-
road position to working position”
• To adjust the working width and working height the
relative rotary units are also selected with these
buttons
Take note!
When the
"STOP"button
is pressed then
all functions are
stopped
Buttons to start a swivelling function
- The buttons are tentative, that means the swivelling
function takes place only as long as the button remains
pushed
• By pressing this button all rotary units are
raised to the transport position
- For this all rotary units must be in the
off-road position
• By pressing this button all rotary units are
lowered to the off-road position
WORK-menu
The operating device starts after switching on using the WORK menu. With that the machine’s current function stand
are displayed.

Raking height menu
Menu function:
Set raking height of rotary units, save and set at zero
level.
- Select rotary units
- Set raking heights with the +/- button
- Press “Menu” button for 5 secs. Current raking
height is set at zero level
- “I/O” button – back to previous menu
- Load working height (press SHORT button).
