furnituremanufacturing.

1.GENERALSAFETY RULES
This manualis anintegralpartofcuttingunitDD120LCandmustbecarefully
readbeforeusingitsinceitgivesimportantindicationswithregards toits safe
installation,useandmaintenance.Keepitwith care.
BeforeusingcuttingunitDD120LC,readcarefullythefollowinggeneralsafety
rules.
•PACKAGING.
Aftertakingoffthepackagingmakesurethatthecuttingunitisintact.In case
ofdoubtdonot useitandcontactan authorizedservicecentre.Donotleave
piecesofpackaging(plasticbags,foampolystyrene,boxes,etc.)withinthe
reachof childrenordisabledpersonssincetheyarepotentialsourcesofdanger.
•AVOIDDANGEROUSENVIRONMENTS.
PreventthecuttingunitDD120LCcomponents fromcomingincontactwith
damporwetsurfaces.
•KEEPCHILDRENAWAY.
Unauthorizedpersons,inparticularchildren,mustbekeptawayfromtheworking
area.
•FEEDCABLE.
Preventthefeedcablefromcomingincontactwithhotobjects,pointedsurfaces
orsharpedges.Neverpullthefeedcableofthemachine.It mustneverbe
replacedbytheuser.Ifnecessarycontactprofessionallyqualifiedstaff.
•KEEPTHE WORKINGAREAALWAYSINORDER.
Theworkplacemustalwaysbekeptinorderandwell lightened;liquidsoroil
tracesmustnotbepresent.
•ALWAYSUSECUTTINGUNITSDD120LCPROPERLY.
Usethecuttingunitsonlyto carryouttheworkstheyhavebeen designedfor;
donotusethemimproperly.
•OBSERVETHEUSEOFTHE TOOLS.
Donotcutexcessivelythickmaterialsandalwayscheckbladeconditions.
•AVOIDACCIDENTALSTARTINGS.
BeforeconnectingcuttingunitDD120LC,makesurethateverythingisinstalled
properly.
•CLOTHING.
Donotuselargeclothesoraccessoriesthatmightgetstuck inthemoving
parts.
•GOGGLESANDPROTECTIVEMETALMESHGLOVES.
Always usegoggles,protectivemetalmesh glovesapprovedbyRasor®during
useandmaintenanceoperations(accordingtoUNIEN388:2004standard).
•SPAREPARTS.
Duringmaintenanceandreplacementoperations useonlyoriginalspareparts.
Blademaintenancemust beonlyperformedbyRasor®technicians.
•INSTALLATION.
Anyinstallationthatisnot inconformitywiththesespecifications couldjeopardize
yoursafetyandcancelsthewarranty.

2.TRANSPORTAND PACKING
Thecuttingunitisdeliveredinasuitcase,insidewhich therearevarious options.Thecodeof
theorderedproductandits serialnumberareindicatedoutsidethepackage(see picture1).
Thefollowingaccessoriesarecontainedinabaginsidethepackage:
1) Circularblade;
2) Butterflywrenchforbladenutdisassembly.
3.PLATE DATA
Themanufacturer'sidentificationandECSTANDARD2006/42/ECconformityplate(see picture
below) islocatedonthefrontpartof thecuttingunit.
Theplate mustnotbe removedatall,evenifthemachineisresold.Alwaysreferto
theserialnumberwrittenontheplateitselfwhencontactingthemanufacturer.
Severalsafetywarningsareprintedonacardwhichisappliedto thecuttingunitfeeding
cable;suchwarningsmust bestrictlyfollowedbyeveryonedealingwiththemachine. The
companyisnottobeheldresponsiblefordamagetopropertyoraccidentsto
peoplewhich might occur iftheabove-mentionedwarnings arenotobserved.In
such acase,theoperatoristheonlypersonresponsible.

4. PRODUCTDESCRIPTION
ThefixturedescribedinthismanualisacuttingunitmodelDD120LCwhichcanbeassembled
onautomaticmachines(e.g.spreaders,computerizedcutting) bymeans of properholes
locatedin themotorrest.
DD120LCcanoperatecontinuouslyatveryhighspeedsanditcancutatvarious heights by
means of multipleinstallation.
Thankstotheslidingfootandto thesteelupperqualityof thebladesupplied,DD120LCis
suitablefortextileapplications,especiallyfornaturalfibres,mattressesandsponges,during
productionprocess.Thethree-phasemotor,withextremelycompactdimensions andextreme
reliabilitywith120 mmdiameterblades,guarantees cutswiththicknessupto 50mm,also
formultiplelayers.
Asharpenerassembledonthecuttingunitheadallowswhettingthebladeatanymoment
withoutdisassemblingit.Aftercarryingoutthisoperation,itispossibleto startcuttingagain.
Ahighpowermotor,perfectlybalanced,withahighnumberof revolutions andtotallyfree of
maintenance,reducesthevibrations to theminimum,thus makingthecuttingunitcomply
withEuropeanDirectiveNo.2002/44/ECconcerningtherisksderivingfrommechanical
vibrations.Themechanicalparts aremadeof highresistancesteel, bronzeandaluminium.

It isadvisableforcuttingunitDD120LCownersto verifythecompliancewiththestandard
concerningsafetyof workers:Italianlegislativedecree 81/08.
Themaximum acousticpressurelevelemittedbycuttingunitDD120LCisabout60 dB(A).
Noisetests havebeen carriedoutin compliancewith StandardUNIENISO11202:2010. The
devicenoiselevels,measuredatdifferentdistances(withoutanysoundwavefilteringsystem),
varyintheextentof fewdb (A).
CuttingunitDD120LChasbeendesigned,manufacturedandassembledto cutanykindof
fabricsormaterials,withtheexceptionof metal,plasticorwood,bymeans of rotarycircular
blades.Thisequipmentmust not work:
-in areas proneto explosions;
-in presenceof finedustorcorrosivegases;
-on wetordampmaterials;
- tocutplastic,metalandwoodenmaterials.
Itisforbiddentousecuttingunit DD120LC for purposesdifferentfromtheabove-
mentionedones.

8.USE WARNINGS
Werecommendfollowingtheindications belowin ordertoalwaysworkinsafetyconditions.
·Alltheoperationsmustbecarriedoutcomplyingstrictlywiththesafetyrulesofthe
countrywherethedeviceistobeinstalled.
·ItisSTRICTLYFORBIDDENtosmokeduringtheinstallationoradjustmentoperationsof
thecuttingunit.
·TheCustomerundertakestocomplywithandmakehisstaffobserveall therulesand
regulationsinforceconcerningsafety,preventionof accidentsandhealthinthework
place.
Therefore,theCustomerassumestheresponsibilitytostrictlyfollowalltherulesand
regulations inforce,aswell asthespecialprovisions inforceinsportandpublic
installationstheCustomerdeclarestoknowafterreceivingalltherelativenecessary
information.
·Thecuttingunitworksalsowithoutitssafetyprotectivedevice.This
protectivedevicemustNEVERberemoved.
·Alwayschecktheresistanceofthematerialto becutandthekindofbladewhichis
beingused.
·TheCustomershallequiphisownpersonnelwithalltheindividualsafetyprotections
fortheexecutionoftheworks,as wellaswiththeoneswhich mightbeprescribedby
theManufacturerduetospecificdangerconditionsoftheplantoroftheareawherethe
personnelmustwork.
·Donotmakeanyadjustmentwhilethebladeisworkingorwhiletheelectricplugis
connected.
·Alwayspayattentionto theelectriccablepositionto preventitfrombeingcutor
damagedbytheblade.
·ItisallowedtoassemblecuttingunitDD120LConmachinesO.E.M.onconditionthat
theiroriginalstructureisnotmodified.Otherwise,theinterventionmustbecertifiedby
Rasor®.
Firstlymakesurethatthelinesareabletofeedthecuttingunitcorrecltly,incompliancewith
thesafetyrules(forthefeaturerequiredseepar.5).
Wesuggestinstallingamagnetothermicsafetydevicebeforethecuttingunitandcheckthat
thegroundcircuitiseffective.
Beforeworkingonthefeedingcablepulltheplugout.Checkthatelectricconnectionsand
protectionscorrespondtothedrivingforceandtheplatedatavalues (voltageandcurrent),
requiredbythedifferentelectriccircuits.
ByreferringtotheCEI 11-27/1standardalltheworkscarriedoutbymeansofelectriccurrent
mustbeperformedbyastaff,whohasbeenprovidedwithallthedevicesrequiredbythe
above-mentionedstandard.
Fortheworkscarriedoutundervoltage,itisnecessarythattheemployercertifiesthesuitability,
againstformativeprocesses.Thecuttingunit DD120LCissuppliedwithelectriccable
connectedtotheconnectorblocklocated besidethemotor.
Theusermustconnectthecuttingunittothemains (thecable complies withtheCEI 20-22
III Standard). Neverchangethelengthofthecablesupplied.Ifitisnecessary,usealonger
cableandreplacetheonesupplied.

10. RESIDUALRISKS
Eventhoughthecuttingunitissafe,operatorsmust payattentionto preservetheirandother
people’ssafety.
LAttheendof theworkingoperations,themetalparts couldbeveryhot.
LThecuttingbladecanworkevenwhentheprotectivedeviceisdisassembled.
WARNING
Theoperatormust arrangeadisconnettingswitchonthesupplylineinorderto switchoff the
machine,ifnecessary.
Toconnectthenewcableopenthecover“A”byunscrewingthe
4cross-slottedscrews“B”(seepicture3).Connectthephase
cableto theterminalboard.Theminimum sectionof the
connectingcablesmust bedeterminedbytheoperatorincharge
oftheinstallation.
WerecommendusingsafetycablesandsocketsIMQapproved.
Checktheconnectionbyenablingthecuttingunitandverify
therotationdirection.Thecuttingunitis providedwithearthing
(yellow-greencable).Possiblefaultyearthingconnectionsmay
causeunsafe workingconditions.Possibledamagesarenot at
RASOR®s.r.l.charge.
Theelectricfeedingmustbesuppliedbyalineprotectedagainst
overcurrentbymeansoftheautomaticswitch(magnetothermal)ordelayedfuseswitha
suitabledimensions.Thecurrentofthesafetydevicesmustbeaslowaspossibleconsidering
themax.absorptionof themachine(seeidentificationplate).

12.BLADESHARPENING
Aftermanyhoursof acontinuativeuseof thecutting
unit,orifitshouldnot beableto cutanymore,itis
necessaryto sharptheblade.
Tocarryoutthisoperation,startthebladeandpress
sharpener“2”locatedonitfor3-4seconds(bypressing
push button“1”,asshowninpicture6).
Repeattheoperation 2-3times.
Ifthesharpeningoperationisnot effective,check the
wearof emerygrindingwheel“3”(see picture7).If
emerygrindingwheel“3”istoo wornordirty,replace
itafterdisassemblingthebladebymeans of theproper
tool.
11.INSTALLATION AND USE
Toinstall andusethecuttingunit,proceedasfollows:
1)Fixthecuttingunitonlevelsquares orangles byusingthetwothreadedholes “A”for
5MA screwslocatedinthebladeholdersupport(seepicture4).
NOTE
Thecuttingunitcanbeinstalledin anyposition/angle:vertically,laterallyanditcanbeturned
upsidedown.Itisnotcompulsoryforthealuminiumbasetotouchthemachinetable.
2)Laythematerialto becut;
3)Connectthecuttingunitto theelectricfeeding;
4)Putthematerialonthecuttingbase;
5)Adjusttherightandleftmobileprotectioncovers“B” and“C”accordingto thethickness
ofthematerialtobecut(see picture5);
6)Carryoutthecuttingoperation.
NOTE
CuttingunitDD120LCcanworkinafixedposition(thematerialhasto bemoved) oritcan
moveforwardwhilethematerialiskeptinthesameposition.Makesurethematerialto becut
isproperlystretched,preventingitfromcurling.

Ifthebladeisnomoreabletocut(evenafterrepeating
thesharpeningoperation severaltimes)itisnecessaryto
replaceit.Tocarryoutthisoperation,usebutterflywrench
“1”(showninpicture8).
Toreplacetheblade,proceedasfollows:
1) Usesomeprotectiveglovesincompliancewith
ItalianLegislativeDecree81/08.
2) Removethetwoadjustingknobs“A”and“D”of
therightandleftprotection covers“C”and“F”by
removingthetworelativewashers“B”and“E”
(seepicture9).
3) Unscrewscrews“M”andremovecounterblade“L”,
thenunscrewnut“G”byusingabutterflywrench
“1”andremoveblade“H”(see picture10).
4) Replacethewornbladewiththenewone“2”,
beingcarefultocenterthebladeonthegear,in
thecorrectposition;weremindyoutoassemble
itsothatthesidewiththewritingRasorcanbe
seenbytheoperator.
6)Assembleallthecomponentsagainandcarryout
thesharpening.

14.SLIDING FOOTREGULATION
Foragoodcut,thecircularblademust alwaysbrush against
theslot endof theslidingfoot(withouttouchingit!).
Whenthebladewears,its diameterisreducedandtherefore
theslidingfootmust bebroughtagainneartheblade.Inorder
to reachthisgoal:
1) Unscrewscrew“A”underthebaseandbringthesliding
footneartheblade(see pictures11 and12).
2) Tightenscrew“A”againandcarryoutsomecuttests
(see picture12).

on thelast pageof this manual,exceptin caseof differentwritten agreements.
Thewarrantycoversallmanufacturingandmaterialdefects.Replacementandrepairoperations
arecoveredonlyifcarriedoutbyourcompanyandatourworkshop.Ifin-warrantygoods
needto berepaired, thecustomermustalwayssendthecompletemachinetoRasor®.
Singleunitswill notbe repairedunderwarranty.
Thematerialto berepairedmust besentCARRIAGEFREE.

Thewarrantycoversneithertechnicians'interventiononsitenorthemachinedisassembly
fromtheinstallationplace.
Ifforpracticalreasons,oneof ourtechnicians issentto thepremises,thecustomerwill be
chargedthecosts plus thetravellingexpenses.
Thewarrantydoesnot include:
+failurecausedbywronguseorassembly,
+failurecausedbyexternalagents,
+failurecausedbylack of maintenanceorneglicence;
+blades andparts subjectto wear.
WARRANTYFORFEITURE:
+Incaseof arrearageorotherbreaches of contract,
+Wheneverchangesorrepairsarecarriedoutonourcuttingunits withoutourprior
authorization,
+Whenevertheserialnumberistamperedwithorcancelled,
+Wheneverthedamageiscausedbyimproperuse,badtreatment,bumps,fallsand
othercausesnot dueto normalworkingconditions,
+Whenevertheunitseemstamperedwith,dismantledorpreviouslyrepairedby
unauthorizedstaff,
+Incasethecuttingunits areusedforpurposesthataredifferentfromtheones
describedinthismanual.
All repair operations carriedoutunderwarrantydonotinterruptits duration.
All disputeswill be settledin thecourt ofjusticeofMilan(Italy).
