1.GENERALSAFETY RULES
ThismanualisanintegralpartofbenchcutterD100andmustbecarefully
readbeforeusingitsinceitgivesimportantindicationswithregardstoits safe
installation,useandmaintenance.Keepitwithcare.
BeforeusingbenchcutterD100,readcarefullythefollowinggeneralsafety
rules.
•PACKAGING.
Aftertakingoffthepackagingmakesurethatthebenchcutterisintact.In
caseofdoubtdonotuseitandcontactanauthorizedservicecentre.Donot
leavepiecesofpackaging(plasticbags,foampolystyrene,boxes,etc.)within
thereachofchildrenordisabledpersonssincetheyarepotentialsourcesof
danger.
•AVOIDDANGEROUSENVIRONMENTS.
PreventthebenchcutterD100components fromcomingincontactwith
damporwetsurfaces.
•KEEPCHILDRENAWAY.
Unauthorizedpersons,inparticularchildren,mustbekeptawayfromthe
workingarea.
•FEEDCABLE.
Preventthefeedcablefromcomingincontactwithhot objects,pointed
surfacesorsharpedges.Neverpullthefeedcableofthemachine.Itmust
neverbereplacedbytheuser.Ifnecessarycontactprofessionallyqualified
staff.
•KEEPTHE WORKINGAREAALWAYSINORDER.
Theworkplacemustalwaysbekeptinorderandwell lightened;liquidsoroil
tracesmustnotbepresent.
•ALWAYSUSEBENCHCUTTERSD100PROPERLY.
Usethebenchcuttersonlytocarryouttheworkstheyhavebeendesigned
for;donotusethemimproperly.
•OBSERVETHEUSEOFTHE TOOLS.
Donotcutexcessivelythickmaterialsandalwayscheckbladeconditions.
•AVOIDACCIDENTALSTARTINGS.
BeforeconnectingbenchcutterD100, makesurethateverythingisinstalled
properly.
•CLOTHING.
Donotuselargeclothesoraccessoriesthatmightgetstuck inthemoving
parts.
•GOGGLESANDPROTECTIVEMETALMESHGLOVES.
Always usegoggles,protectivemetalmesh glovesapprovedbyRasor®during
useandmaintenanceoperations(accordingtoUNIEN388:2004standard).
•SPAREPARTS.
Duringmaintenanceandreplacementoperations useonlyoriginalspareparts.
Blademaintenancemust beonlyperformedbyRasor®technicians.
•INSTALLATION.
Anyinstallationthatisnotinconformitywiththese
specifications couldjeopardizeyoursafetyandcancelsthe
warranty.

3.PLATE DATA
Themanufacturer'sidentificationandCESTANDARD2006/42/CEconformityplate(see picture
below) islocatedonthefrontpartof thebenchcutter.
Theplatemust not beremovedatall,evenifthemachineisresold.Alwaysreferto theserial
number(writtenontheplateitself)whencontactingthemanufacturer.
Severalsafetywarningsareprintedonacardwhichisappliedto thecutterfeedingcable;
such warnings must bestrictlyfollowedbyeveryonedealingwith themachine.Thecompany
isnot to beheldresponsiblefordamageto propertyoraccidents to peoplewhichmight
occuriftheabove-mentionedwarningsarenot observed.In suchacase,theoperatoristhe
onlypersonresponsible.

Thefixtures describedin this manualis abench cuttermodelD100 which is usedin orderto
quicklycutfabricsinthetextileindustryandothermaterials.It isextremelyversatileand
powerful,itrequireslittlemaintenanceandhasverylowmanagementcosts.Thanksto the
useof twostonesto sharpentheblade,aslidingfootandaneffectivecuttingsystemwith
circularblade,thebenchcuttercancutdifferentmaterials,suchasnaturalfibers,cotton,
linen,silkandwoollen yarn.
Thesmall dimensionsof theblade(100mm)andthelightweight(only3000g) of the
cutter,makeitideallysuitedforsmall radius cutprofileson materialswith thickness upto 3,5
cm.Thewideslidingbearingbaseallowstheoperatorto slidethecutteronthetable
withoutefforts.Asharpenerassembledonthecutterheadsallowswhettingthebladeat
anymomentwithoutdisassemblingit.Aftercarryingoutthisoperation,itispossibleto start
cuttingagain.Ahighpowermotor,perfectlybalanced,withahighnumberof revolutions
andtotallyfree of maintenance,reducesthevibrations to theminimum,thus makingthe
benchcuttercomplieswithLegislativeDecree No. 187 dated19/8/2005,whichadopts
EuropeanDirectiveNo.2002/44/CEconcerningtherisksderivingfrommechanicalvibrations.The
mechanicalparts aremadeof highresistancesteelandbronzeandrequirelubricationafterseveral
workinghours.

8.USE WARNINGS
We recommendfollowingtheindications belowinorderto alwaysworkinsafetyconditions.
·All theoperations must becarriedoutcomplyingstrictlywiththesafetyrulesof the
countrywherethedeviceisto beinstalled.
·ItisSTRICTLYFORBIDDENto smokeduringtheinstallationoradjustmentoperations of
thebenchcutter.
·TheCustomerundertakesto complywithandmakehisstaffobservealltherulesand
regulationsinforceconcerningsafety,preventionof accidentsandhealthinthework
place.Therefore,theCustomerassumestheresponsibilitytostrictlyfollowalltherulesand
regulations inforce,as wellasthespecialprovisionsinforceinsportandpublicinstallations
theCustomerdeclaresto knowafterreceivingall therelativenecessaryinformation.
·Thebenchcutterworksalsowithouttheirsafetyprotectivedevice.Thisprotectivedevice
must NEVERberemoved.
·Alwayschecktheresistanceof thematerialto becutandthekindofbladewhichisbeing
used.
·TheCustomershallequiphisownpersonnelwithalltheindividualsafetyprotectionsfor
theexecutionoftheworks,aswellaswiththeoneswhichmightbeprescribedbythe
Manufacturerduetospecificdangerconditionsoftheplantoroftheareawherethe
personnelmust work.
·Onlyoneoperatormustusethebenchcutteralwaysstandingbehindtheguidehandle.
Donot makeanyadjustmentwhilethebladeisworkingorwhiletheelectricplugis
connected.
·Always payattentionto theelectriccablepositiontopreventitfrom beingcutordamaged
bytheblade.
·ItisallowedtoassemblebenchcutterD100onmachinesO.E.M.onconditionthattheir
originalstructureisnot modified.Otherwise,theinterventionmust becertifiedbyRasor®.
9.ELECTRICCONNECTION

Firstlymakesurethatthelinesareableto feedthecuttercorrectly,incompliance
withthesafetyrules (forthefeaturerequiredseepar.5).
We suggest installingamagnetothermicsafetydevicebeforethecutterandcheck
thatthegroundcircuitiseffective.Beforeworkingonthefeedingcablepull the
plugout.Check thatelectricconnections andprotections
correspondto thedrivingforceandtheplatedatavalues
(voltageandcurrent),requiredbythedifferentelectric
circuits.Possiblefaultygroundconnectionsmaketheworking
conditions unsafe.Possibledamagesarenotchargedto Rasor®.
ByreferringtotheEC 11-27/1standardalltheworks carrying
outbymeans of electriccurrentmustbeperformedbyastaff,
whohasbeenprovidedwithallthedevicesrequiredbythe
above-mentionedstandard.Fortheworkscarriedoutunder
voltage,itisnecessarythattheemployercertifiesthe
suitability,againstformativeprocesses.As thecutterD100 is
suppliedwithoutplug,theusermust useaplughomologatedin
thecountryinwhichthecutterisused.IntheEuropeanCountries
aShukoplugisrequired(see picture 3).Theelectriccableis
equippedwithyellowandgreengrounding.Neverchangethe
lenghtofthecablesupplied.

Eventhoughthebenchcutterissafe,operatorsmust payattentionto preservetheirand
otherpeople’ssafety.
LAttheendof theworkingoperations,themotorcouldbeveryhot.
LThecuttingbladecanworkevenwhentheprotectivedeviceisdisassembled.
Tousethebenchcuttermanually,proceedasfollows:
1)Laythematerialto becutonatable;
2)Connectthecutterto theelectricfeeding(see picture4);
3)Putthematerialonthecuttingfoot;
4)Adjustthefrontmobileprotectionaccordingto thethicknessof thematerialtobecut;
5)Enabletheswitch;onceithasbeen enabled,itlights with agreen light(seepicture5);
6)Press thestartingleverafterhavingmovedthesafetycatch(see picture6);
7)Push thebenchcutterto thedesireddirection,bytryingto putthematerialinfront
of itselfasstretchedaspossible,preventingitfromcurlinginthefrontpartof the
cutter. Towork,thecuttermust beplacedonasurfaceandmust slidebymeans of
therollsplacedundertheslidingplatform.
NOTE:
Thethrustonthebenchcuttermustbeas uniformaspossible.Tocarryoutlinearcuts with
precision(andto followpredeterminedpaths),wealsorecommendusingthearrowpoint
(see point“A”inpicture7).

Thebladesharpeningiscarriedoutwiththecutteron,
byloweringtheproperlever(1,Pict.8),untilthecutting
edgeoftherotatingbladeisreachedandtheexternal
edgeissharpened.
Tocarryoutagoodsharpening,lowerthelever
progressively(1,Pict.8),byavoidingabruptmovements
andanextremepressureontheleveritself,inorderto
protecttheemerywheelfromwearordamage.The
sharpeningproceduremustbecarriedoutcarefullyin
particularwhenawornbladeisreplacedwithanew
one.Inthiscase,anextremepressureonthesharpening
levermaydamagethecuttingprofileofthenewblade,
compromisingitscorrectuse.Therefore,wesuggest
adjustingtheemerywheelasfollows,afterassemblinga
newbladeonthecutter.
·Disconnectthedevicefromthepowersupply.
·Loosenthethreesharpenerscrews(2,Pict.9),
butdonotremovethem.
·Manuallylowerthesharpenersothattheemeries
comeintocontactwith thecuttingbladeprofile,
asshowninpicture10;thewheelsmustnot
penetrateintotheblademorethan2mm(Pict.
10).
·Manuallyrotatethethreadedbushes (3,Pict.9)
bybringingcloserthetwoemeriesandkeeping
adistancebetweenthemof1-1.2mm.
·Tightenthescrews(2,Pict.9)andsharpenthe
bladeaccordingto themodespreviously
described.
NOTE:duringthisoperationcheckthattheemerywheelsstartrotatingsimultaneously,
bringingnearormovingawayoneofthetwowheelsto getasimultaneous movementof
them.
Aftermanysharpeningoperations,thebladediameter
diminishesprogressively:inthiscase,thefoot(A,Pict.8)
must bebroughtagainnearthebladecuttingprofile.To
carryoutthisoperationdoasfollows:
·Disconnectthedevicefromthepowersupply.
·Overturnthecutterbyputtingthemotoron
theworkingsurface.
·Loosenbutdonot removethescrew(B,
Pict.11)andletthefootslidealongtheproper
groove,puttingitnearthebladeuntilitcomes
closetoit.
·Tightenagainthescrewbykeepingthefootinthisposition
(B,Pict.11).

Every3-4workinghours,itisnecessaryto lubricatethe
pairof gears.Tocarryoutthisoperation,removethe
protectiveplug“A”locatedonthemotorsupportof the
benchcutterandfill itwithlubricatinggreaseRasor.Screw
plug“A”againfewturns.Screwplug“A”afewturns
every2-3workinghours(see picture12).
Theblademust neverbedirtywithgreaseoroil.
Ifthebladeisnomoreabletocut(evenafterrepeatingthe
sharpeningoperationseveraltimes)itisnecessaryto replace
it.Tocarryoutthisoperation,usebutterflywrench“1”and
drift“3”lockingtheblade(showninpicture13).
Toreplacetheblade,proceedasfollows:
1) Usesomeprotectiveglovesincompliancewith
LegislativeDecree 242 dated19 March1996 (useof
personalprotectiondevices);
2) Removethefixedrearsafetyprotection“A”(see picture
14)byunscrewingthecross-slottedscrew“C”and
thecross-slottedscrew“D”bymeans of theproper
screwdriver(not suppliedbythemanufacturer)and
byextractingwasher“E”asshowninpicture15.
Removethemobilefrontsafetyprotection“B” (see
picture14)byunscrewingpin“F”andbyextracting
washer“G”asshowninpicture15.
3) Insertdrift“3”(see picture13)into hole“H”,soasto
lock theblade(theholeon theblademust correspond
to theoneonthestructure).
4) Usebutterflywrench“1”to unscrewnut“L”andremove
blade“M”(see picture16).
5) Replacethewornbladewiththenewone“2”,being
carefultocenterthebladeontheshaft,inthecorrect
position,andremembertoassembleitwiththeside
withthewritingRasorpositionedtowardstheexternal
sideofthebenchcutter.
6) Assembleall thecomponents againandcarryoutthe
sharpening.

Rasor®ElettromeccanicaS.r.l. benchcutterhasa12 monthwarrantyfromthedateindicated
onthelast pageof thismanual,exceptincaseof differentwrittenagreements.
Thewarrantycoversallmanufacturingandmaterialdefects.Replacementandrepairoperations
arecoveredonlyifcarriedoutbyourcompanyandatourworkshop.
Thematerialto berepairedmust besentCARRIAGEFREE.
Oncethemachinehasbeenrepaired,itwill besentCARRIAGEFORWARDto thecustomer.
Thewarrantycoversneithertechnicians'interventiononsitenorthemachinedisassembly
fromtheinstallationplace.
Ifforpracticalreasons,oneof ourtechnicians issentto thepremises,thecustomerwill be
chargedthecosts plus thetravellingexpenses.
Thewarrantydoesnot include:
+failurecausedbywronguseorassembly,
+failurecausedbyexternalagents,
+failurecausedbylack of maintenanceorneglicence;
+bladesandparts subjectto wear.
WARRANTYFORFEITURE:
+Incaseof arrearageorotherbreachesof contract,
+Wheneverchangesorrepairsarecarriedoutonourcutterswithoutourprior
authorization,
+Whenevertheserialnumberistamperedwithorcancelled,
+Wheneverthedamageiscausedbyimproperuse,badtreatment,bumps,fallsand
othercausesnot dueto normalworkingconditions,
+Whenevertheunitseemstamperedwith,dismantledorpreviouslyrepairedby
unauthorizedstaff,
+Incasethebenchcuttersareusedforpurposesthataredifferentfromtheones
describedinthis manual.
All repair operations carriedoutunderwarrantydonotinterruptits duration.
All disputeswill be settledin thecourt ofjusticeofMilan(Italy).
