å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty carton to
avoid scratching your unit or the floor.
å To begin assembly, push a SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER (7F)
into the large holes in the ENDS (A and B). Repeat this step for
the BOTTOMS (F, G, and R) and UPRIGHTS (L and M).

å Turn twenty-seven CAM SCREWS (8F) into the PRINTER
SHELF MOLDING (K) and LEGS (H, O, P, Q, S, and T).

å Turn four BLACK 9/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (32S) into
the ENDS (A and B) until the shoulders of the SCREWS
rest on the surfaces of the ENDS.
å NOTE: Do not overtighten the SCREWS.
å Slide the END MOLDINGS (C) onto the ENDS (A and B).
Line up the grooves in the MOLDINGS over the heads of
the SCREWS in the ENDS.
å NOTE: If the MOLDING comes up o of the SCREWS,
remove it and slide it on again. The MOLDINGS should be
even on both edges of the ENDS.
Apply pressure with your hands
as you guide the MOLDINGS over
the SCREWS and onto the ENDS.

å First, fill the exact two holes shown in the RIGHT END (A) 1/4 to 1/2 full with
GLUE (177M). Then, insert two WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away
the excess GLUE.
å NOTE: Be sure to position the parts exactly as shown.
å Now, fill the holes in the LEGS (H and S) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (177M).
å Fasten the LEGS (H and S) to the RIGHT END (A). Tighten six HIDDEN CAMS.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWELS in the RIGHT END insert into the LEGS.
Wipe away the excess GLUE.

å NOTE: You have the option to fasten your CABINET
RAILS to the upper, center, or lower set of holes on the
UPRIGHTS depending on where you want the PRINTER
SHELF to be positioned in your unit.
å Fasten the CABINET RAILS (Y and Z) to the
UPRIGHTS (L and M). Use four GOLD 5/16" FLAT
HEAD SCREWS (3S).
å NOTE: The CABINET RAILS are marked "CABINET
RIGHT" and "CABINET LEFT" for easy identification.

Tighten four TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS.
How to use the SAUDER TWIST-LOCK®FASTENER
1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the hole of the
adjoining part.
NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must remain fully
inserted in the hole of the adjoining part while locking
the FASTENER.
2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips screwdriver as tight
as possible.

å IMPORTANT: If you purchased the 422983 Hutch, finish drilling through the
four holes shown in the TOP (V) before fastening the UPRIGHTS (L and M).
å NOTE: You will need someone's help in this step.
å First, fill the holes in the LEGS (H, P, Q, and T) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (177M).
Then, insert four WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away the
excess GLUE.
å Now, fill the exact four holes shown in the TOP (V) 1/4 to 1/2 full with
GLUE (177M).
å Fasten the UPRIGHTS (L and M) to the TOP (V). Tighten four TWIST-LOCK®
FASTENERS.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWELS in the LEGS insert into the TOP. Wipe
away the excess GLUE.

å Carefully turn your unit over onto its front edges.
å Fasten a METAL BRACKET (4G) to the TOP (V). Use a
BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (1S).
å Lay the BACKS (U) onto the LEGS (O, Q, S, and T) and
BOTTOMS (F and R) with the top edge of the BACKS
against the bottom surface of the TOP (V).
å Fasten the BACKS (U) to your unit using the NAILS (1N).
Do not stand the unit upright without the
BACK fastened. The unit may collapse.
