Verifone VX 805 with Elavon Processing
This document provides step-by-step instructions on installing the Verifone VX 805, configuring settings,
and processing transactions in CRE using Elavon through DataCap.
Note: You must have a Deployment ID for the computer acting as the NetEpay server created prior to
attempting this installation. You must also have a License for each station that is processing
transactions through the NetEpay server. If you do not have them, please contact your reseller or
processor for information on how to obtain them.

Installation notes:
The merchant is responsible for contacting their Reseller and obtaining a Merchant Number, as well as
having a Deployment ID created on DataCap’s PSCS Server prior to installation.
You must be running CRE/RPE version 12.8031 or higher to use this device. To install the required
version of CRE/RPE Windows 7 or above is required.
The click here for the pinpad’s supported application load for version supported by DataCap & Elavon.
The NETePay software only needs to be installed on 1 station which will act as the DataCap server.
It is recommended to install the NETePay Software on a back office computer that can act as a server.
The VX 805 driver, dsiPDCX software, and dsiEMVUS software needs to be installed on each station
that will process card payments.
A settlement command (manual settlement or auto settlement set in CRE/RPE) CANNOT be sent to the
processor from CRE/RPE. The settlement must be set to auto settle through the processor.
Device encryption is configured by the processor prior to deployment.

Installing the VX 805 driver
Download the VX 805 driver from the following link:
http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/Manufacturer/Verifone/VX805_Driver.zip
1. Locate the downloaded file
VX805_Driver.zip. Right-click on the
file and extract its contents.
2. Right-click on the VX805_Driver.exe
file that was just extracted and click on
Run as administrator.
3. Accept the agreement and click on
Next.

4. Wait while the driver installs. When it
is finished the installer window will
close automatically.
5. On the VX 805, take the USB
connector,
6. and connect it to any available USB
port on the computer.

7. The screen should display a Welcome
message when fully booted.
8. In Windows, go to Control Panel >
Device Manager.
9. Expand the Ports branch. You should
now see the VX 805 with a COM port
assigned to it in parenthesis. This is
usually configured for COM9.

10. In Windows Control Panel > Programs
and Features,
11. Look for entry named Verifone Vx
Installer version should also be
created if the driver installed correctly.

Installing dsiEMVUS control (required on each PC using a VX 805)
Download the latest dsiEMVUS control software for Elavon from the following link, Select NETePay5.0 to expand the list,
and select Elavon Host EMV –ELH.
1. Under dsiEMVUS 1.** Click on Download.
2. Right-click on the dsiEMVUS-100-
Install201*****-W8.exe file and click on
Run as administrator.
3. Click on Next.

4. Accept the agreement and click Next.
5. Enter a User Name and Organization
then click Next.
6. Click on Install.

7. Click on Finish.
8. Click on Yes when prompted to restart.

Installing dsiPDCX control (required on each PC using a VX 805)
Download the latest dsiPDCX control software for Elavon from the following link, Select NETePay5.0 to expand the list,
and select Elavon Host EMV –ELH.
1. Under dsiPDCX 1.5*, click on
Download.
2. Right-click on the dsiPDCX-15*-
Install201*****-W8.exe file
and click on Run as
administrator.
3. Click Next.

4. Accept the agreement and click
Next.
5. Enter a User Name and
Organization then click Next.
6. Click Install.

7. Click Finish.
8. Click on Yes when prompted to
restart.

Installing NETePay (required on PC that will act as DataCap server only)
Download the latest NETePay software Elavon from the following link, Select NETePay5.0 to expand the list, and select
Elavon Host EMV –ELH.
1. Under Install NETePay Elavon–RCH
5.06.**, click Download.
2. Click Agree.
3. Locate and right-click on the
DSIClient250-386-Install20121029-W8
you downloaded and click on Run as
administrator.

4. Click Next.
5. Accept the agreement and click Next.
6. Click Install.

7. Click Finish.
8. Click on Yes when prompted to restart.
9. In Programs and Features you should
now see an entry for the NETePay
installation.
10. Locate DSIElavonIP_Host.exe. It can
typically be found at the following path
on your computer after the NETePay
installation:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Datacap
Systems\NETePay
Right-click on the file
DSIElavonIP_Host.exe and select Run as
administrator.
11. The first time it is run, you will need to
click on Obtain Serial Number.

12. If NETePay is successful in obtaining a
serial number but is unable to locate
merchant parameters for the assigned
serial number, you will see the dialog
box on the left.
The dialog contains the 10-digit serial
number that was automatically assigned
to NETePay. Click OK.
13. This dialog box indicates that NETePay
has not yet retrieved merchant
parameters from Datacap’s PSCS server.
It cannot operate until these parameters
are downloaded.
Click OK and you will be returned to the
NETePay main status window.
14. Click Setup >Setup Information.
15. You will see the Setup Merchant
Parameters screen. Click Load New
Parameters.

16. Click Yes to Attempt Acitvation.
17. Click I Have My Deployment ID.
18. In the dialog box that displays, enter the
Deployment ID you received, then click
OK.
19. Click Yes, This is the Correct Merchant.
If the information is not correct, click
Cancel and retry entry from the
beginning of Step 17.
20. If NETePay successfully retrieves the
parameters associated with the entered
DeploymentID from the PSCS server, you
will see the dialog box on the left. Click
OK and you will be brought back to the
Setup Merchant Parameters screen.
Hit OK from the Setup Merchant
Parameters screen to exit.
Important Note: NETePay must always be running to process transactions. We recommend the default
location in the POS system tray.

Configuring settings in CRE/RPE (required on each PC that will process card payments)
1. Go to Options/Manager > Setup >
Setup Screen.
2. Under the Payment Processing:
Click on the Processing tab and select
Credit/Debit; under the Payment
Processor dropdown, select DataCap;
3. under the Processing Company
dropdown, select Elavon;
4. under IP Address, enter the IP address
of the PC where you installed the
NETePay software;
5. Select Verifone VX805 under the
Pinpad dropdown
6. Enter the Merchant Number; enter the
Terminal Number (if provided by
processor)
7. Click Update to save your changes.
If you are prompted for an unlock code, and you
do not know how to obtain one, please read the
unlock code guide for more information.

Configuring cash back with a debit card & EBT Cash sales
1. Go to Options/Manager > Setup >
Setup Screen.
2. Go to Payment Processing > Other
Options; in the Max Debit Cashback
field, any amount greater than 0to
enable the cashback feature for debit
and EBT sales. To disable the cashback
function, enter 0in the field.
3. NOTE the amount entered in this field
does not determine the maximum
cashback amount allowed with the
sale, this is configured by Datacap.
