1.1SafetyCheck
BeforeinstallingtheHomeGateway,checkallthebelowlisteditems:
1.Electricsafety
Ensurenoinammable,conductiveormoistobjectsandnoageing-cables
aroundtheequipment.Placeallelectricalappliancessafely.
2.Equipmentposition
�Installtheequipmentinaventilatedenvironmentavoidofanyelectricde-
vicesnearby.
�Placetheequipmentonastableandatsurface.
�Theequipmentmustbeprotectedfromsunshine.Itmustbekeptaway
fromelectro-magnetinterference.
�Theequipmentmustbeprotectedfromheatandwatersources.
�Ensurethepowersupplyisavailable.Theuctuationrangeofinputvoltage
shouldbeintherangeof±10%.Donotsharethepowersocketwithother
electricaldevices.

IPTVandvoiceoverIPservicesthroughtheDSLorGEuplink.Itsupportsthe
followingfeatures:

�ItsupportsDual-BandconcurrentWi-Fiupto300Mbps(compatiblewithIEEE
802.11n,2.4GHzcompliantequipment)and1.3Gbps(compatiblewithIEEE
802.11ac,5GHzcompliantequipment).
�ItprovidesmultiplelinesviatheFXSphoneports.
�ItsupportsIPv4/IPv6dualstackmechanismforIPv6networkmigration.
�ItsupportsTR-069,includingTR-098datamodelandTR-104voiceprovi-

button.WhenthecorrespondingindicatorsonthefrontpanelareOn,youcan
enjoyvariousservicesprovidedbytheserviceprovider.
Note:
Thewirelessnetworkscopeisaffectedbythenumberofwalls,wallthickness,
walllocations,wallmaterials,ceilings,andotherobjects.Meanwhile,thema-
terialtypesandbackgroundRFnoisealsoaffectthewirelessnetwork.
Tomaximizethewirelessnetworkscope,complywiththefollowingmethods:
1.ReducethenumberofwallsandceilingsbetweentheZXHNH268Aandother
networkdevices.
Eachwallorceilingreducesthewirelessnetworkscopeby1to30meters.
ProperlyplacetheZXHNH268Atoreducethenumberofwallsandceilings.
2.Complywiththestraightlineprinciplebetweennetworkdevices.
At45degreeangle,awallwiththethicknessbeinghalfameterisasthickas
onemeter.Toreceivemoresignals,devicesneedtobeplacedtoenablethe
signalstobetransmitteddirectlythroughwallsorceilings.
3.Thewirelessnetworkscopeisalsoaffectedbybuildingmaterials.
Thescopeisaffectedbysolidmetaldoorsoraluminumstuds.Trytoplace
accessingpoints,wirelessrouters,andcomputers,andthensignalscanbe
transmittedthroughdrywallsoropenchannels,forexample,FRPproducts,
metalproducts,insulatedwalls,lingcabinet,bricks,andconcreteweaken
thewirelesssignals.
4.MakesurethattheZXHNH268AwiththeWiFifunctionkeepsfarawayfrom
thefollowingdevices:
Keepatleasttwometersfarawayfromelectricaldevicesorcomponents
thatgenerateRFnoise.Signalsaregreatlyweakenedorevencompletely
disappearedbya2.4GHzwirelessmobileorX-10,forexample,amicrowave
oven,homesecuritysystem,bluetoothdevice,oricebox.

Note:
Eventhroughthe2.4GHzwirelessmobileisnotused,thesignalsgenerated
bythexedphonealsointerferewiththewirelessnetwork.
3.3CongureYourInternet
1.OpenabrowseronyourcomputerornotebookPCthatisconnectedtothe
router,andthenenterhttp://192.168.20.1intheaddressbar.
2.Attheloginscreen,typeadminintoboththeUsernameandthePassword
eldsandclickLogin.(Therearetwoaccounts,includingusername"ad-
min"/password"admin"orusername"user"/password"user"."admin"has
fullrightsand"user"haslimitedrights.)

4Troubleshooting
�AllindicatorsareOffwhentheZXHNH268AequipmentispoweredOn.
FirstmakesurethatyouhaveinsertedthepoweradapteroftheZXHNH268A
intoaworkingpowersocketandthattheZXHNH268Ahasbeenpowered
On(theswitchbuttonispresseddown).IftheindicatorsarestillOffafter
conrmationoftheaboveitems,maybethehardwareisdamaged.Youmay
contactlocaloperatorformaintenance.Neverdismantletheequipmentby
yourself.
�Sometimes,theDSLuserscannotaccesstotheInternetnormally
FirstcheckwhethertheZXHNH268Aisinthenormalstate(Checkthein-
dicatorsaccordingtothisusermanual).Ifyes,thecomputerorapplication
networkmaybefaulty.ThisisunrelatedwithDSL.IftheZXHNH268Aisab-
normal,checkthestatusofindicatorsonebyonetoremovethefault.
Itissuggestedtocheckthefollowingitemsbeforeseekinghelpfromoperator:
i.TheDSLtelephonecableconnectorsareproper.
ii.TheDSLisawayfromthepowercableandlarge-powerelectronicdevices.
iii.Notelephoneextensionsandfaxmachinesareconnectedbetweenthe
DSLincominglineandsplitter.
iv.Thesplitterhasbeeninstalledcorrectly.
v.TheZXHNH268Ahasgoodheatdissipationratio.

�WhatarereasonsforDSLsynchronizationfailure(alsoreferredaslink
downorlinkestablishmentfailure)?
IftheDSLsuddenlyfailstobesynchronized(linkdown)duringapplication,
usuallytheLinkindicatorontheZXHNH268AwillnotbeOn.Itissuggested
tocheckthefollowingstepsonebyone:
i.Firstcheckthequalityofincomingcablesandincomingcableconnectors.
ii.InstalltheZXHNH268Acorrectlybasedontheuserguidance.Minimize
thenumberoftaps.
iii.CheckwhetherthetelephonecablesandDSLareingoodconnectionor
whetherthetelephonecablesarenormal.
iv.TrytodisconnectthesplitteranddirectlyconnecttheZXHNH268Atothe
incomingusercableend.Ensuretheproblemisnotduetoimproperinstal-
lationorincominguserlinequality.IftheDSLcanbesynchronizedagain,
itmeansthatinstallationoftheincomingusersideisimproper.Pleasere-
installitaccordingtotheuserguide.
v.IftheDSLstillfailstobesynchronizedwhentheZXHNH268Aisconnected
totheincomingusercableend,contacttheoperatorstocheckwhetherit
isduetoexternallinefailureorZXHNH268Afailure.
vi.Ifthesplitterproblemisdetermined,calltheoperatorformaintenanceor
replacement.
vii.Iftheproblemisduetotheendofceequipmentfailure,calltheoperator
toconrmit.
viii.ToolongconnectioncablebetweenthesplitterandZXHNH268Amay
causepooranti-interferenceperformanceandsynchronizationdifculty.
Therefore,theconnectioncableshouldnotbetoolong.
