BeforeinstallingtheVDSL2equipment,checkallthebelowlisteditems:

Ensurenoinammable,conductiveormoistobjectsandnoageing-cables
aroundtheequipment.Placeallelectricalappliancessafely.
2.Equipmentposition
�Installtheequipmentinaventilatedenvironmentavoidofanyelectricde-
vicesnearby.
�Placetheequipmentonastableandatsurface.
�Theequipmentmustbeprotectedfromsunshine.Itmustbekeptaway
fromelectro-magnetinterference.
�Theequipmentmustbeprotectedfromheatandwatersources.
�Ensurethepowersupplyisavailable.Theuctuationrangeofinputvolt-

TheZXHNH268NisaVDSL2accessdevice,whichsupportsmultipleline
transmissionmodes.Inuserside,itprovidesfour10/100Base-TEthernetin-
terfaces,andthewirelessuseraccessincompliancewiththeIEEE802.11b/g/n
standard.Itcanprovidethetransmissionofbroadbanddataservice,whichis
suitableforusinginawiderangeofbothresidential(in-home)andcommercial
(ofces,apartments,hotels,warehouses)networkapplications.

rangeofmultimediaservices,youarerecommendeduseacomputerwith
suchcongurationsas:abovePentiumIII,64Mmemory,10Gharddisk,
graphicacceleratingadapterwithabove2Mdisplaymemory,audioadapter
andsoundbox.

button.WhenthecorrespondingindicatorsonthefrontpanelareOn,youcan
enjoyvariousservicesprovidedbytheserviceprovider.
ForaMODEMwiththeWiFifunction,forexample,aZXHNH268N,itswireless
networkscopeisaffectedbythenumberofwalls,wallthickness,walllocations,
wallmaterials,ceilings,andotherobjects.Meanwhile,thematerialtypesand
backgroundRFnoisealsoaffectthewirelessnetwork.
Tomaximizethewirelessnetworkscope,complywiththefollowingmethods:

1.ReducethenumberofwallsandceilingsbetweentheZXHNH268Nand
othernetworkdevices.
Eachwallorceilingreducesthewirelessnetworkscopeby1to30meters.
ProperlyplacetheZXHNH268Ntoreducethenumberofwallsandceilings.
2.Complywiththestraightlineprinciplebetweennetworkdevices.
At45degreeangle,awallwiththethicknessbeinghalfameterisasthick
asonemeter.T oreceivemoresignals,devicesneedtobeplacedtoenable
thesignalstobetransmitteddirectlythroughwallsorceilings.
3.Thewirelessnetworkscopeisalsoaffectedbybuildingmaterials.
Thescopeisaffectedbysolidmetaldoorsoraluminumstuds.Trytoplace
accessingpoints,wirelessrouters,andcomputers,andthensignalscanbe
transmittedthroughdrywallsoropenchannels,forexample,FRPproducts,
metalproducts,insulatedwalls,lingcabinet,bricks,andconcreteweaken
thewirelesssignals.
4.MakesurethattheZXHNH268NwiththeWiFifunctionkeepsfarawayfrom
thefollowingdevices:
Keepatleasttwometersfarawayfromelectricaldevicesorcomponents
thatgenerateRFnoise.Signalsaregreatlyweakenedorevencompletely
disappearedbya2.4GHzwirelessmobileorX-10,forexample,amicrowave
oven,homesecuritysystem,bluetoothdevice,oricebox.
Note:
Eventhroughthe2.4GHzwirelessmobileisnotused,thesignalsgenerated
bythexedphonealsointerferewiththewirelessnetwork.
4Troubleshooting
�AllindicatorsareOffwhentheZXHNH268NequipmentispoweredOn.
FirstmakesurethatyouhaveinsertedthepoweradapteroftheZXHN
H268NintoaworkingpowersocketandthattheZXHNH268Nhasbeen
poweredOn(theswitchbuttonispresseddown).Iftheindicatorsarestill
Offafterconrmationoftheaboveitems,maybethehardwareisdamaged.
Youmaycontactlocaloperatorformaintenance.Neverdismantletheequip-
mentbyyourself.

�Sometimes,theVDSL2userscannotaccesstotheInternetnormally
FirstcheckwhethertheZXHNH268Nisinthenormalstate(Checkthein-
dicatorsaccordingtothisusermanual).Ifyes,thecomputerorapplication
networkmaybefaulty.ThisisunrelatedwithVDSL2.IftheZXHNH268Nis
abnormal,checkthestatusofindicatorsonebyonetoremovethefault.
Itissuggestedtocheckthefollowingitemsbeforeseekinghelpfromoper-
ator:
i.TheVDSL2telephonecableconnectorsareproper.
ii.TheVDSL2isawayfromthepowercableandlarge-powerelectronic
devices.
iii.Notelephoneextensionsandfaxmachinesareconnectedbetweenthe
VDSL2incominglineandsplitter.
iv.Thesplitterhasbeeninstalledcorrectly.
v.TheZXHNH268Nhasgoodheatdissipationratio.

�WhatarereasonsforVDSL2synchronizationfailure(alsoreferredas
linkdownorlinkestablishmentfailure)?
IftheVDSL2suddenlyfailstobesynchronized(linkdown)duringapplica-
tion,usuallytheLinkindicatorontheZXHNH268NwillnotbeON.Itis
suggestedtocheckthefollowingstepsonebyone:
i.Firstcheckthequalityofincomingcablesandincomingcableconnectors.
ii.InstalltheZXHNH268Ncorrectlybasedontheuserguidance.Minimize
thenumberoftaps.
iii.CheckwhetherthetelephonecablesandVDSL2areingoodconnection
orwhetherthetelephonecablesarenormal.
iv.TrytodisconnectthesplitteranddirectlyconnecttheZXHNH268Ntothe
incomingusercableend.Ensuretheproblemisnotduetoimproperin-
stallationorincominguserlinequality.IftheVDSL2canbesynchronized
again,itmeansthatinstallationoftheincomingusersideisimproper.
Pleasereinstallitaccordingtotheuserguide.
v.IftheVDSL2stillfailstobesynchronizedwhentheZXHNH268Niscon-
nectedtotheincomingusercableend,contacttheoperatorstocheck
whetheritisduetoexternallinefailureorZXHNH268Nfailure.
vi.Ifthesplitterproblemisdetermined,calltheoperatorformaintenanceor
replacement.
vii.Iftheproblemisduetotheendofceequipmentfailure,calltheoperator
toconrmit.
viii.ToolongconnectioncablebetweenthesplitterandZXHNH268Nmay
causepooranti-interferenceperformanceandsynchronizationdifculty.
Therefore,theconnectioncableshouldnotbetoolong.
