COMcan beused for:
· Programmingand monitoring;
· CSDPC-PCdatatransmission;
· PC-FAX-transmission offaxmessagesfromyourPC;
· CSDorhigh-speedGPRS connectiontotheInternet;
· SMS sendingandreceiving.
7.1.Programming, Monitoring
Install theEasyGatePCManagersoftwareavailableon the included CD-ROMinto

TheEasyGatePCManagercontainsan easymonitoringtooltoo.Withthistoolyou
can identifythe GSMprovider’sname,signalstrength,GSMmodule,SIM,andsoon
duringEasyGateoperation.
7.2.CSDPC-PCDataTransmission
TheCSDmodeprovidesdatatransmissionintheGSMnetworkatthe maximum
transmissionrateof14400bps.It works likeaclassicconnection oftwomodems(AT
commandsATD,ATH,ATA,etc.).Connectioncanbe madewithanotherGSMmodem
oraPSTNmodem.
Caution! Datacallsand faxcallsfromthe PSTNcomeasvoicecalls(the telephone
line on EasyGaterings)becausean analognetworkisunabletodistinguisha
modem/faxcall.Therefore,itisnecessarytohaveaspecialtelephone numberfor

7.3.FAXTransmission-PC-FAX
EasyGateallowsfaxtransmissionsfromyourPC.However,do notconfusethe PC-
Faxservicewithastandardfaxservice– nofax machinecanbeconnectedtothe

and transmit documents.
Toenablethe PC-Faxservice,install the faxmodemdriverfromthe EasyGateCD-

programdesignedforSIEMENSdatamodules(MC39i,MC45,orMC46)can workwith
EasyGate.TheWinFaxprogramfromSymantechasbeensuccessfullytestedforthis
purpose.
7.4.CSDor High-SpeedGPRSDataConnection to Internet
ToconnecttotheInternet, install thefaxmodemdriverfromtheEasyGateCD-ROM

7.4.1.CSDor GPRS DataConnection?
ThemaximumCSDtransmissionrateis14400 bps.GSMconnection isreserved for
the wholetimeofconnectionand callsarecharged accordingtothe connectiontime.
TheCSDmodecanprovide dataconnection oftwoPCs.
