2.1Obligations and liability
Complywith the instructions in the operating manual

basic requirement for safe handling and fault-free implement
operation.

Risksin handling the implement
The implement has been constructed to the state-of-the art and the
recognised rules ofsafety.However, operating the implement may
cause risks and restrictionsto
•the health and safetyoftheuser or third parties,
•the implement,
•other property.
Onlyuse the implement
•for the purpose for which it was intended,
•in aperfect state ofrepair.
Eliminate anyfaults immediatelywhich could impair safety.
Guarantee and liability
Our "General conditions ofsales and delivery"are always applicable.
These shall be available tothe operator, at the latest on the
completion ofthe contract. Guarantee and liabilityclaimsfor damage
to people or propertywill be excluded iftheycan be traced backto
one or more ofthe following causes:
•Improper use ofthe implement.
•Improper installation, commissioning, operation and
maintenance ofthe implement,
•Operation ofthe implement withdefective safetyequipment or
improperlyattached or non-functioning safetyequipment,
•Non-compliance with the instructions in the operating manual
regarding commissioning, operation andmaintenance,
•Unauthorised designchanges to the implement,
•Insufficient monitoring ofimplement parts which are subject to
wear,
•Improperlyexecuted repairs,
•Disasters through the impact offoreign bodies andActs ofGod.

2.2Representation of safetysymbols
Safetyinstructions are indicated bythetriangular safetysymbol and
the highlighted signal word.The signalword(danger, warning,
caution) describes the severityofthe risk, and carries the following
meaning:
DANGER
Indicates an immediate high risk which will result in death or
seriousphysical injury(loss of bodyparts or long term
damage) if not avoided.
If the instructions arenot followed, then this will result in
immediate death or serious physical injury.
WARNING
Indicates a mediumrisk, which could result in death or (serious)
physical injury if not avoided.
If the instructions arenot followed, then this may result in death
or serious physical injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a lowrisk which could cause minoror medium level
physical injury or damage to property if not avoided.
IMPORTANT
Indicates an obligation tospecial behaviour or an activity
required for proper implement handling.
Non-compliance with these instructions can causefaults on the
implement or disturbance to the environment.
NOTE
Indicates handling tips and particularly useful information.
These instructions will help you to use all the functions of your
implement in the best way possible.

2.3Organisational measures
The operator must provide the necessarypersonal protective
equipment as per the information provided bythe manufacturer ofthe
crop protection agent to be used, such as:
•Safetyglasses;
•Protective shoes
•Chemical-resistant overalls,
•Skin protection agents etc.

operated,

personnel.

2.4Safetyand protection equipment
Before starting up the implement each time, allthesafetyand
protection equipment must be properlyattached and fullyfunctional.

Faulty safety equipment
Faultyor disassembled safetyandprotection equipment can lead to
dangerous situations.
2.5Informal safetymeasures
As well as all the safetyinformation in this operatingmanual, comply
with the gener
al, national regulations pertaining to accident prevention
and environmental protection.
When drivingon public roads and routes you should complywith the
statutoryroad traffic regulations.

Comment:
A qualification equivalent to specialist trainingcan be obtained
fromseveral years' experience intherelevant field.
Onlya specialist workshop maycarryout maintenanceand repair
workon the implement, ifsuch workis additionallymarked
"Workshop". The personnelofa specialist workshop shallpossess
the appropriate knowledge and suitableaids (tools, lifting and
support equipment) for carrying out the maintenance and repair work
on the implement in awaywhich is both appropriate and safe.

2.7Safetymeasures innormal operation
Onlyoperate the implement ifall the safetyand protection equipment
is fullyfunctional.
Checkthe implement at least once a dayfor visible damage and
checkthe function ofthesafetyand protection equipment.
2.8Danger from residualenergy
Notethattheremaybe residual mechanical,hydraulic,pneumatic and
electrical/electronic energyonthe implement.
Use appropriate measures to informthe operating personnel. You can
find detailedinformation in the relevant sections ofthis operating
manual.
2.9Maintenance and repair work, fault elimination
Carryout prescribed setting, maintenance and inspection workin
goodtime.
Secure all media such as compressed air and the hydraulic system
against unintentional start-up.
Carefullyfix and secure larger assemblies to lifting gear when
carryingoutreplacement work.
Checkloosened threaded connections for tightness. When the
maintenance workis completed,checkthe functioning ofthe safety
devices.

2.10Design changes
You maymake no changes, expansions or modifications to the
implement without the authorisation ofAMAZONEN-WERKE. This
also applies whenwelding support parts.
Anyexpansion or modification workshallrequire the written approval
ofAMAZONEN-WERKE. Onlyuse modification and accessoryparts
approved byAMAZONEN-WERKE so that the type approval, for
example, remains valid in accordance with national and international
regulations.
Vehicles withan official type approval or with equipment connected to
a vehicle with avalid typeapproval or approvalfor road transport
accordingto the German road traffic regulations must be in the state
