1. Lieferumfang
Das Süßwasseraquarium Formosa 50 hat folgenden Lieferumfang:
- Aquarium 50 x 60 x 50 cm
- Unterschrank mit Unterschrankfilter
- Edelstahltopffilter aquafresh 50
O tional:
- Beleuchtung ECOplant LED 2 x 18 W
Nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten sind Zeitschaltuhr, Heizung und eine Steckdosenleiste
2. Aufstellen des Aquariums
Das Aquarium kann direkt auf den im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Formosa Stand (Montage siehe
separate Anleitung für baugleichen Cubicus Stand) gestellt werden Zuvor sollte man aber die
Schrankplatte und die Unterseite des Aquariums von Schmutz befreien, damit es nicht zum Platzen
der Bodenscheibe durch Sandkörner oder ähnlich grobe Partikel kommt
Das Aquarium wird zunächst mit klarem Wasser gereinigt

14 Platz für Filterschwamm (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) Hier kann ein passender Schwamm
zwischen dem schwarzen Glas des Überlaufs und der hinteren Glasscheibe eingeklemmt werden
Der Schwamm sollte vom Bodengrund bis zur Unterkante des waagerechten Rücklaufrohres (11)
reichen Kamm Nr 13 muss umgekehrt eingeschoben werden und so den Überlaufkasten von
dieser Seite verschließen Der Schwamm verhindert, dass kleine Tiere, z B Garnelen in den
Überlaufkasten geraten Er sollte etwa 5 cm stark sein
Im Formosa 50 befindet sich hinter der schwarzen Scheibe, an der die Beleuchtung montiert werden
kann, ein Überlaufsystem bestehend aus Überlaufschacht mit Kämmen und einem geschlitzten Rohr,
durch das das Wasser zum Filter gelangt Im Unterschrank befinden sich zwei Hähne, die geschlossen
sein müssen, wenn der Topffilter abgenommen wird
Die Durchführungen müssen entsprechend Abb 1 und 3 montiert werden Vor Inbetriebnahme
grundsätzlich nachziehen Gleitring und Mutter werden zuvor von Hand angebracht und so weit wie
möglich angezogen Der Kunststoffgleitring muss bei allen Durchführungen immer auf der Seite der
drehbaren Mutter, die Gummidichtung auf der entgegengesetzten Seite der Scheibe angebracht sein

Um den Filter in Betrieb zu nehmen, stellt man ihn entsprechend Abb 2 im Unterschrank des Formosa
50 auf und schließt ihn wie abgebildet an Es ist unbedingt auf den korrekten Sitz aller Schläuche,
Schlauchsicherungen und Dichtungen zu achten, da andernfalls das Aquarium leer läuft
Wird der Filter am Aquarium angeschlossen, müssen die Schlauchsicherungen der Hähne angezogen
werden Man prüft den Topffilter und alle Schlauchanschlüsse auf Dichtigkeit und korrekten Sitz,
bevor man die Hähne öffnet Der Topffilter läuft automatisch voll Wasser Danach kann die Pumpe
gestartet werden, sie darf nicht längere Zeit trocken laufen
Der Filter darf nur aufrecht stehend betrieben werden Um den Filter zu reinigen, muss zunächst die
Pumpe vom Strom genommen werden Danach schließt man beide Hähne (Abb 2, Nr 6) Man stellt
den Filter in einen passenden Eimer, löst durch Drehen die Schlauchsicherungen an den beiden
Hähnen und zieht dann die Schläuche von den Stutzen ab Die Schläuche möglichst gerade über dem
Eimer halten, um Wasserschäden am Schrank zu vermeiden Wasserspritzer sind mit einem Tuch
umgehend zu entfernen
Werden die Hähne am Aquarium nicht geschlossen, besteht Gefahr, dass sich das Aquarium komplett
in den Unterschrank entleert Deswegen ist auch beim Betrieb des Topffilters unbedingt darauf zu
achten, dass die Deckeldichtung (Abb 5, Nr 10) korrekt eingelegt ist und der Deckel dicht schließt
Die Haltebügel der Verschlussklammern (Abb 5, Nr 16) müssen über den Haltelaschen des Deckels
(Abb 5, Nr 9) liegen und die Federverschlüsse am Filtergehäuse fest angedrückt sein

Zwischen dem Vlies (Abb 5, Nr 12) und dem Schwamm (Abb 5, Nr 13) können je nach
gewünschter Filterart (chemisch, mechanisch, biologisch) geeignete Filtermaterialien eingebracht
werden Der Filter muss bei Bedarf, spätestens sobald sich der Durchfluss merkbar verringert,
gereinigt werden
Grobschmutz wird im Filter von den dort siedelnden Bakterien in gelöste, anorganische Verbindungen
(z B Nitrat, Phosphat, usw ) umgewandelt Um das zu vermeiden, sollten die Grobfilter (Abb 5, Nr
12 und 13) regelmäßig gereinigt werden Biologische Filtermaterialen spült man, sofern sie gereinigt
werden müssen, mit lauwarmem Wasser ab, um die anhaftenden Bakterien nicht zu schädigen
5. Beleuchtung
LED-Beleuchtung ECO lant (o tional, siehe se arate Anleitung)
Die ECOplant (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) wird mit zwei Halteschrauben und dem mitgelieferten
Halter mittig auf der Trennscheibe zur Filterkammer befestigt
6. Garantie
AB Aqua Medic GmbH gewährt eine 24-monatige Garantie ab Kaufdatum auf alle Material- und
Verarbeitungsfehler des Gerätes Auf die Dichtigkeit des Beckens gewähren wir eine Garantie von
drei Jahren Als Garantienachweis gilt der Original-Kaufbeleg Während dieser Zeit werden wir das
Produkt kostenlos durch Einbau neuer oder erneuerter Teile instand setzen (ausgenommen
Frachtkosten) Im Fall, dass während oder nach Ablauf der Garantiezeit Probleme mit Ihrem Gerät
auftreten, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler
Diese Garantie gilt nur für den Erstkäufer Sie deckt nur Material- und Verarbeitungsfehler, die bei

1. Product descri tion

2. Set-U of the aquarium
The aquarium can be placed directly on the included Formosa stand (see separate manual for
identical Cubicus stand) Beforehand, the cabinet plate and the lower surface of the aquarium should
be cleaned to prevent the bottom pane of glass from bursting through grains of sand or any dust
particles
First of all, the aquarium has to be cleaned with clear water

14 Space for the filter sponge (not included in shipment) There, an appropriate sponge can be
clamped between the black glass of the overflow and the rear glass pane The sponge should
come up from the ground to the lower edge of the horizontal return tube (11) Comb No 13
should be inserted reversed and close the overflow box that way from the side The sponge
prevents that little animals like shrimps get caught in the overflow box The sponge should be
about 5 cm thick
In the Formosa 50, there is an overflow system behind the black pane to which the light can be
mounted The system consists of an overflow shaft with combs and a slotted pipe through which the
water enters the filter In the cabinet, there are two valves that must be closed if the pot filter is
removed
The bushings have to be installed according to Fig 1 and 3 Always re-tighten before use The slide
ring and nut have to be mounted manually beforehand and tightened as much as possible The rubber
slide ring must always be attached to the side of the rotable nut, the rubber gasket on the opposite
side of the pane

To take the filter into operation, set it up in the cabinet of Formosa 50 and connect it according to
Fig 2 It is important to pay attention to the correct position of all hoses and sealings since otherwise
the aquarium drains dry
When the filter is connected to the aquarium, the tube sealings of the valves must be tightened The
pot filter and all tube connections have to be checked for leaking and proper fit before the valves are
opened The pot filter automatically runs full of water Afterwards, the pump can be started, it must
not run dry for a longer time
The filter may only be operated in an upright position To clean the filter, the pump has to be
unplugged Then, both valves (Fig 2, No 6) have to be closed The filter has to be put into a suitable
bucket, the tube sealings of both valves have to be released by turning them and then the tubes can
be pulled of the connecting piece Keep the tubes as straight as possible over the bucket to avoid
water damage to the cabinet Water splashes should be removed with a cloth immediately
If the valves aren’t closed at the aquarium, there is a risk that the aquarium will be completely
emptied into the cabinet Therefore, it is also essential to ensure that the lid’s sealing (Fig 5, No
10) is inserted correctly and the lid closes tightly when operating the pot filter The retaining brackets
of the clamps (Fig 5, No 16) have to be put over the grooves of the lid (Fig 5, No 9) and the spring
locks have to be pressed firmly to the filter housing

Suitable filter material can be placed between the fleece (Fig 5, No 12) and the sponge (Fig 5, No
13) depending on the desired filter type (chemical, mechanical, biological) The filter has to be
cleaned, if necessary, as soon as the flow decreases at the latest
Coarse waste is converted in dissolved anorganic compounds (e g nitrate, phosphate, etc ) in the
filter of the bacteria settled there In order to avoid this, the coarse filters (Fig 5, No 12 and 13)
should be cleaned regularly Biological filter are rinsed with warm water if they have to be cleaned
to avoid damaging the adherent bacteria
5. Illumination
LED illumination ECO lant (o tional, see se arate manual)
The ECOplant (not included in shipment) is screwed with two screws and the supplied holder centrally
on the separating wall of the filter chamber
6. Warranty
Should any defect in material or workmanship be found within 24 months of the date of purchase AB
Aqua Medic GmbH undertakes to repair or, at our option, replace the defective part free of charge –
always provided the product has been installed correctly, is used for the purpose that was intended
by us, is used in accordance with the operating instructions and is returned to us carriage paid The
warranty term is not applicable on the all consumable products
Proof of Purchase is required by presentation of an original invoice or receipt indicating the dealer’s
name, the model number and date of purchase, or a Guarantee Card if appropriate This warranty
may not apply if any model or production number has been altered, deleted or removed,
unauthorised persons or organisations have executed repairs, modifications or alterations, or damage
is caused by accident, misuse or neglect We regret we are unable to accept any liability for any
consequential loss

2. Installation de l’aquarium
L’aquarium peut être directement installé sur le support (Formosa Stand) compris dans le colis (pour
le montage voir le mode d’emploi séparé pour le Cubicus Stand) Il faut nettoyer auparavant le
plateau du meuble et la face inférieure de l’aquarium afin d’éviter que des grains de sable ou autres
particules se glissent entre le meuble et la cuve provoquant l’éclatement de cette dernière
Il faut ensuite nettoyer l’aquarium avec de l’eau pure

coincer ici une mousse adaptée entre le verre noir du trop plein et la vitre arrière La mousse
doit aller du sol au bord inférieur du tuyau de retour vertical (11) Le peigne Nr 13 doit être mis
en place en position inverse et ainsi fermer le côté du bac de trop plein La mousse empêche
l’entrée d’animaux comme des crevettes dans le bac de débordement Il doit y avoir 5 cm de
mousse
Dans l’aquarium Formosa 50, un système de trop plein est placé derrière la vitre noire Il est possible
de monter l’éclairage sur cette vitre Le système de trop plein est composé de peignes et tuyaux à
ouvertures ce qui permet à l’eau d’atteindre le filtre Dans le meuble il y a deux robinets qui doivent
être fermés lorsque l’on désire enlever le filtre cuve

Les passages (passe paroi) doivent être installés selon les schémas 1 et 3 Resserrer avant la mise
en service L’anneau et l’écrou sont mis en place manuellement et serrés tant que faire se peut
L’écrou doit toujours être placé dans tous les passages du côté de l’écrou, le joint en caoutchouc du
côté opposé de la vitre

Pour la mise en service du filtre dans le meuble Formosa 50, on l‘installe et le raccorde comme
détaillé sur la schéma 2 Il faut veiller au bon positionnement de tous les tuyaux, au bon serrage des
tuyaux et joint afin d’éviter les fuites d’eau
Lorsque le filtre est raccordé à l’aquarium, il faut resserer les tuyaux On vérifie l’étanchéité du filtre
cuve et de tous les raccordements avant d’ouvrir les robinets Le filtre cuve se remplit
automatiquement avec l’eau On peut ensuite mettre la pompe en route, elle ne doit pas fonctionner
trop longtemps à sec
Le filtre ne doit fonctionner qu’en position verticale Pour nettoyer le filtre, il faut d’abord débrancher
la pompe du secteur Ensuite on ferme les deux robinets (schéma 2, Nr 6) On place le filtre dans
un seau adapté, on ouvre par rotation les sécurités des deux robinets et on retire ensuite les tuyaux
Maintenir les tuyaux si possible verticalement au dessus du seau, afin d’éviter des dégats d’eau au
niveau du meuble Il faut essuyer les éclaboussures avec un chiffon
Si les robinets ne sont pas fermés, il y a un risqué que l’aquarium se vide totalement dans le meuble
C’est pourquoi lors de l’utilisation du filtre cuve il faut absolument veiller à ce que le joint du couvercle
(schéma 5, Nr 10) soit correctement positionné et que le couvercle ferme correctement Le
verrouillage des pinces de fermeture (schéma 5, Nr 16) doit se trouver au dessus des onglets du
couvercle (schéma 5, Nr 9) et les fermetures à ressort doivent être pressées fortement contre le
corp de filtre

Entre l’élément de filtration (schéma 5, Nr 12) et la mousse de filtration (schéma 5, Nr 13) il est
possible d’insérer divers matériaux de filtration (chimique, mécanique, biologique) Il faut nettoyer
le filtre dès que le débit diminue sérieusement
Les grosses impuretés sont transformées dans le filtre en composés inorganiques solubles par les
bactéries (p ex nitrates, phosphates, etc) Afin d’éviter cela il faut régulièrement nettoyer les
préfiltres (schéma 5, Nr 12 et 13) On rince les matériaux biologiques dans la mesure où il faut les
nettoyer avec de l’eau tiède afin de ne pas endommager les bactéries
5. Eclairage
Eclairage LED ECO lant (en o tion voir instructions sé arées)
L‘ECOplant (non compris dans le colis) est fixé sur le support central à l’aide de deux vis de fixation
et du support fourni vers le compartiment de filtration
6. Garantie
AB Aqua Medic GmbH garantit l’appareil 24 mois à partir de la date d’achat sur tous les défauts de
matériau et de fabrication L’étanchéité du bac est garantie trois ans La preuve de garantie est
constituée par la facture originale Durant cette période nous remettons le produit gratuitement en
état(sauf frais de port) En cas de problème avec votre appareil durant ou en fin de garantie veuillez
vous adresser à votre revendeur
Cette garantie ne vaut que pour le premier acheteur Elle ne couvre que les défauts de matériau et
de fabrication, dus à un usage raisonnable Elle n’est pas valable en cas de dommages survenus
durant le transport ou une manipulation inadaptée, à la négligence, une mauvaise installation ainsi
que des interventions ou des modifications effectuées par des entreprises non autorisées

2. Installeren van het aquarium
Het aquarium kan direct op het bijgesloten Formosa onderstel geplaatst worden (zie de aparte
handleiding voor de identieke Cubicus onderkast) Voor u dit doet dient u de bovenkant van de kast
en de onderkant van het aquarium goed schoon te maken Dit om eventueel barsten van de glazen
onderkant tgv zandkorrels of andere vuildelen te voorkomen
Allereerst moet het aquarium goed schoon gemaakt worden met schoon water
