1. Check the green light on the control panel, indicating connection to the
230V mains supply.
2. Open the toilet lid and seat.
The ventilation fan starts automatically.
3. Place a bag in the bowl. Use a new bag for each visit to the toilet
4. Lower the seat. The toilet is ready for use.
5. Make use of the toilet. If the amount produced is small, pour in a cup of water, in order
to increase the weight sufficiently for the bag to fall down.
6. Close the toilet lid.
7. Press the ”Start” button for 1 - 2 seconds. A beep acknowledges the start of the inci-
neration process. The hatch opens and the bag with contents falls down. When the
hatch closes, incineration begins. The toilet is now ready for the next visit.
8. A yellow light on the control panel indicates that incineration is in progress. The light
will be on during the entire incineration process.
9. The length of the incineration process varies with the amount of waste being proces-
sed.
How to use Cinderella Classic
Valuable information for users of Cinderella
1. Always remember to place a bag in the toilet bowl before use. Do not prepare a bag for the next user.
2. The toilet lid must always be down when the toilet is not being used. The incineration process cannot begin until the lid
is in the lowered position.
3. After the completion of the incineration process, the yellow light on the control panel turns off. The fan stops when the
temperature in the incineration chamber has cooled to 85°C. (This will occur about 1 to 1.5 hour after completion of the
incineration process).
4. The toilet should not be connected to the mains during thunderstorms.
5. It is possible to disconnect the mains cable when leaving the house for longer periods of time, for example if not being
used during the winter months. Note: The yellow light must be turned offbefore disconnecting the mains. The battery will
begin recharging as soon as the toilet is reconnected to 230V mains power.

1. Wait until the toilet has cooled and the fan has stopped. The ash container becomes very hot
during the incineration process.
2. Remove the toilet’s front hatch.
3. Turn the ash container towards the right until the handle is pointing directly towards you. Pull
the ash container out in a straight line.
4. Remove the ash container insert and empty the ash. The ash is clean, dry, free of germs and has
no odour. The ash may be used as fertilizer concentrate. No restrictions apply to the disposal
of the ash.
5. Clean the container insert to remove salts from urine and charred deposits. (This is described
in detail on page 8, Maintenance). The incineration process will be more efficient after the ash
container has been carefully emptied and cleaned.
6. Remember to replace the container insert before reinstalling the ash container assembly in the
toilet.
7. Turn the ash container to the left until it stops. The toilet will not start unless the container is
correctly positioned. (The red and yellow lamp will stop flashing when the ash container is in
the correct position).
Emptying indicator
The most important maintenance operation is to empty the ash container at regular intervals. The toilet is equipped with an
indicator notifying you when it is time to empty the ash container.
After about 100 incinerations, lights on the control panel will start flashing yellow and red, indicating that it is time to empty
the ash container. In addition, a beeper will beep quickly 10 times when you lift the lid.
After 130 incinerations, the lid will be automatically locked. The red and yellow light will be permanently on, and the beeper
will sound. It will not be possible to use the toilet until the ash container has been emptied.
Flammable liquids, burning objects, cigarettes and similar items must never
be placed in the toilet bowl and/or ”flushed” into the toilet.
Emptying the ash container
It is recommended that you should empty the ash container once a week, or when the system indicates that the container
should be emptied.

Maintenance
In order to ensure the best possible operation of your Cinderella toilet, you should spend some time on preventive maintenan-
ce. Good maintenance implies lower costs of operation. Some simple measures are illustrated below, and should be perfor-
med about once a year or every 1000 incinerations (e.g. every second time you change the package of bags).
Cleaning the ash container
Empty the ash from the ash container insert. Remove salts from urine and
burned deposits by pouring hot water into the bowl and leaving it to soak
for 15 - 30 min. Clean with a brush. Do not use any sharp objects which
could damage the acid-resistant surface.
Clean the pipes
In order to maintain good air flow through the pipe system, it must be chec-
ked or cleaned at least once a year (or after every 1000 incinerations).
Disconnect the toilet from the pipe. Remove the ventilator cowl and
T-piece bottom lid. Check that the pipes are clean on the inside. Use ordi-
nary equipment for sweeping pipes if necessary. Clean the bottom lid with
drain holes.
Clean the catalyser
1. Disconnect the toilet from the ventilation pipe and remove the ash con-
tainer.
2. Clean the catalyser pipe using a knife, then vacuum carefully inside
and around the pipe.
3. Connect the toilet to the ventilation pipe. Pour one litre of water into
the ash container while it is still outside the toilet. Replace the ash con-
tainer and perform one incineration procedure without using the bag
and paper. This procedure will clean out the catalyser.
Cleaning the surface
Use ordinary cleaning agents for cleaning. Note: Do not use any pro-
ducts containing chlorine (Chlorine gas will cause damage to all types
of metal over time). Also note that the toilet must have cooled down.
1. Lock the toilet in the open position by opening the toilet lid and holding
the start button down for 1 - 2 seconds. The hatch inside the toilet bowl
will be in the open position until the toilet lid is placed in the lower posi-
tion. A safety function ensures that the hatch only can be locked in the
open position when the toilet is cool.
2. Clean the entire toilet bowl. This includes the wings located on the
movable part of the bowl. Place the toilet lid in the lower position. The
hatch to the incineration chamber will close. It is possible to use paper
towels which may be dropped into the incineration chamber.

It is important to act immediately if irregularities such as odour, insufficient incineration or any malfunctions arise, in order to
avoid consequential damage and unnecessary costs of repair. Normally, the ash should be grey and contain no pieces of pa-
per. If the incineration process is incomplete or there are any odours, we recommend flushing through the catalyser. A video

Frequently asked questions/answers
Is it necessary to use a paper bag for each visit to the toilet?
Yes. A new bag must be used every time.
Is it possible to use different types of bags?
The manufacturer of Cinderella strongly recommends the use of original bags for Cinderella Classic and Gas.
Original bags must always be used during the complaint period (5 years). If faults/consequential damage arises due to the
use of non-original bags, the guarantee will be voided and the liability will fall on the customer.
How should the ash be handled?
The ash is clean, free of germs and odourless. It can be dispersed in nature or disposed along with ordinary household waste.
How often should the ash container be emptied?
It is recommended to empty the ash container once a week or when indicated on the control panel. Many cabin owners have
made it a habit to empty the ash container when arriving at the cabin, as the toilet is cool. The toilet uses less energy and the
incineration process works better when the ash container is emptied often.
Can the toilet be used while the incineration process is in progress?
Yes. An ongoing incineration process is interrupted when the toilet lid is opened. After use of the toilet, the incineration pro-
cess continues.
Is it possible to use recycled toilet paper in the toilet?
Yes. The use of recycled paper causes no problems.
Does the toilet need to be connected at all times?
No. You may disconnect the power cable when leaving the cabin/house whenever there is a risk of thunderstorms. The toilet
may be disconnected when the yellow light is extinguished. The battery will keep the fan working during the afterburning
process and cooling period. When the power cable is reconnected, the toilet will recharge the battery.
Is it necessary to start the incineration process every time Cinderella is used?
Yes. The incineration process begins when pressing the ”Start” button. It is important to start the incineration process at once
in order to avoid any odours and avoid corrosion problems.
What is the purpose of the ”Reset” function?
The ”Reset” function interrupts all ongoing processes and returns the toilet to the stand-by position. (If the toilet is still hot,
the toilet fan will start operating in order to cool down the system). This function is used in connection with error messages.
What is meant by ”average use” of Cinderella?
Cinderella is primarily intended for cabins and the leisure market, but also used in several other contexts. According to av-
ailable research, ”Average use” is defined as follows: 5 persons, 3 -4 times a day for 60 days of use (reference is made to
surveys regarding use of cabins), which implies about 900 to 1200 incinerations per year. In order to ensure the best possible
operation of your Cinderella, you should spend some time on preventive maintenance. Good maintenance work also means
lower operating costs. Simple maintenance tasks should be carried out once a year or every 1000 incinerations (e.g. every
second time you start using a new package of paper bags).
