Der Benutzer ist zur Einhaltung der Bestimmungen zur Inspektion und Wartung
elektrischer Installationen und mobiler Geräte verpichtet, die in
Gefahrenbereichen eingesetzt werden. Diese Inspektionen, Inspektionsintervalle
und die ordnungsgemäße Ausführung liegen in der alleinigen Verantwortung des
Benutzers.
1 Anwendungsbereich
Das i.roc®Ci70-Ex ist ein eigensicheres wasser-, staub- und stoßfestes PDA (Perso-
nal Digital Assistant) für den industriellen Einsatz in Bereichen mit erhöhter Explosi-
onsgefahr der Zonen1, 2, 21 und 22 entsprechend den Richtlinien 1999/92/EC (ATEX
137), 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) und dem IECEx-System.
2 Sicherheitshinweise
Diese Sicherheitsanweisungen enthalten Informationen und Sicherheitsbestimmun-
gen, die für den sicheren Betrieb unter den beschriebenen Bedingungen unbedingt
zu beachten sind. Die Nichtbeachtung dieser Informationen und Anweisungen kann
schwerwiegende Folgen haben oder einen Verstoß gegen die geltenden Bestimmun-
gen darstellen. Bitte lesen Sie diese Sicherheitsanweisungen sorgfältig durch, bevor
Sie das Gerät verwenden! Im Fall widersprüchlicher Informationen haben die Sicher-
heitshinweise Vorrang. Sollten Zweifel bestehen (unklare Übersetzung oder Druckfeh-
ler), ist die Version in englischer Sprache heranzuziehen.
3 Fehler und Beschädigungen
Sollten Gründe vorliegen, die auf eine Beeinträchtigung der Sicherheit des Geräts
hindeuten, darf das Gerät nicht mehr verwendet werden und ist unverzüglich aus dem
Ex-Bereich zu entfernen. Es sind Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um eine versehentliche,
erneute Verwendung des Geräts zu verhindern. Die Sicherheit des Geräts kann unter
folgenden Umständen beeinträchtigt sein:
• Das Gehäuse ist sichtbar beschädigt.
• Das Gerät wurde zu großen Belastungen ausgesetzt.
• Das Gerät wurde nicht ordnungsgemäß aufbewahrt.
• Das Gerät wurde beim Transport beschädigt.
• Die Gerätekennzeichnung oder Beschriftung ist nicht lesbar.
• Es treten Funktionsstörungen auf.
• Die zulässigen Grenzwerte wurden überschritten.
4 Sicherheitsbestimmungen
Für die Verwendung des Handheld-Computers i.roc®Ci70 -Ex wird vorausgesetzt,
dass der Benutzer die allgemein gültigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen beachtet und
das Konformitätszertikat gelesen hat, um einen fehlerhaften Einsatz des Geräts zu
vermeiden.
Folgendes ist zu beachten:
• Das Gerät ist vor starken Stößen zu schützen.
• Das Gerät ist vor ständiger UV-Strahlung zu schützen.
• Das Gerät darf nicht in der Nähe von Prozessen verwendet werden, bei de-
nen starke Ladungen auftreten.
• Um eine elektrostatische Auadung zu verhindern, ist Reibung am Gehäuse
zu vermeiden.
• Öffnen Sie das Gerät nicht in Ex-Bereichen.
• Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das Original-Akkumodul „AMCi70-Ex“.
• Es ist nicht zulässig, zusätzliche Akkusätze in Gefahrenbereiche
mitzunehmen.
• Das Akkumodul darf nur außerhalb des Ex-Bereichs und nur unter
Verwendung der folgenden Ladegeräte geladen werden:

• Das Akkumodul darf nur in einem Temperaturbereich von 0–45°C geladen
werden.
• Die Datenverbindung darf nur außerhalb des Gefahrenbereichs und nur mit
dem ecom Desktop Dock (Intermec Art. 852-920-001) oder dem ecom
Single Dock (ecom Art. AS0030301) hergestellt werden.
• Stellen Sie beim Laden des Akkus (außerhalb von Gefahrenbereichen) si-
cher, dass sowohl das Gerät als auch das Akkumodul staubfrei und nicht
verschmutzt sind.
• Es darf nur von der ecom instruments GmbH zugelassenes Zubehör verwen-
det werden. Weitere Informationen nden Sie auf der entsprechenden

• Es ist sicherzustellen, dass das Gerät nicht in Gefahrenbereiche der Zonen0
oder 20 verbracht wird.

7 Wechseln des Akkus
Das Wechseln des Akkus ist nur außerhalb von Gefahrenbereichen zulässig. Beach-
ten Sie außerdem die folgenden Sicherheitsbestimmungen.
1. Wenn der Akku eingesetzt ist, schalten Sie den Handheld-Computer aus und
drehen Sie die Schraube des Akkumoduls mit einem geeigneten Torx-
Schraubendreher gegen den Uhrzeigersinn heraus.
2. Heben Sie das Akkumodul auf der unteren Seite an.
3. Die SIM- und microSD-Steckplätze benden sich unter einer Abdeckung im
Akkufach. Um dieses Fach zu öffnen, drehen Sie alle vier Schrauben mit ei-
nem geeigneten Schraubendreher heraus.
4. Setzen Sie Ihre SIM-Karte (nur WWAN-Version) und bei Bedarf eine mi-
croSD-Karte (max. 32GB) in die entsprechenden Steckplätze ein.
5. Setzen Sie das Akkumodul ein, indem Sie zuerst die Kontakte auf der
Oberseite des Akkumoduls in die entsprechenden Kontakte im Akkufach des
mobilen Computers platzieren. Drücken Sie das Akkumodul von der
Unterseite aus nach unten und ziehen Sie die Schraube des Akkus mit ei-
nem geeigneten Torx-Schraubendreher im Uhrzeigersinn fest.
6. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie die Schraube nicht überdrehen. Die Schraube
ist handfest anzuziehen.
7. Laden des Handheld-Computers: Der mit dem Handheld-Computer geliefer-
te Akku ist nicht vollständig geladen. Es wird empfohlen, den Computer vor
der ersten Verwendung 8Stunden zu laden. Die vollständige Kapazität des
Akkus ist nach 3-4vollen Lade-/Entladezyklen erreicht.
Achtung:
•
Es besteht Explosionsgefahr, wenn der Akku nicht ordnungsgemäß ausge-
tauscht oder Flammen ausgesetzt wird.
•
Schließen Sie den Akku niemals kurz.
•
Der Akku enthält keine Teile, die ausgetauscht werden können.
•
Das Akkugehäuse darf unter keinen Umständen geöffnet werden.
•
Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Ladezubehör von ecom (siehe Punkt 4).
•
Die Verwendung anderer Ladegeräte oder Akkus ist nicht zulässig. Der Explo-
sionsschutz ist nur bei Verwendung von Originalakkus gewährleistet.
•
Ausgemusterte Akkus sind ordnungsgemäß zu entsorgen.
•
Der Ladezustand des Akkumoduls muss spätestens alle sechs Monate über-
prüft werden, um einer Tiefentladung vorzubeugen.
•
Ist der Akku vollständig entladen, lässt sich der Handheld-Computer nicht ein-
schalten und im Display wird kein Ladevorgang angezeigt. Schließen Sie den
Handheld-Computer an das Ladegerät an. Nachdem der Ladevorgang einige
Minuten durchgeführt wurde, leuchtet die Status-LED auf und Sie können den
Handheld-Computer einschalten.
8 Sicherheitshinweise für den Akku
Beschädigte Akkumodule und Ladegeräte dürfen nicht weiter benutzt werden und
sollten zur Überprüfung zu ecom instruments GmbH geschickt werden.
Achtung:
•
Extreme Temperaturen können einen nachteiligen Einuss auf das Laden Ih-
res Akkumoduls haben.

•
Werfen Sie das Akkumodul nicht ins Feuer.
•
Schließen Sie das Akkumodul nicht kurz.
•
Entsorgen Sie das Akkumodul gemäß den lokalen Bestimmungen.
•
Werfen Sie das Akkumodul nicht in den gewöhnlichen Hausmüll.
In Ihrem i.roc®Ci70 -Ex werden hochwertige Lithium Ionen-Zellen eingesetzt. Diese
Zellen haben im täglichen Gebrauch zahlreiche Vorteile, wie geringes Gewicht und
hohe Kapazitäten bei dennoch kompakter Bauform. Außerdem weisen die Zellen so
gut wie keinen Memory-Effekt auf.
Dennoch tritt auch bei diesen Zellen eine natürliche Alterung ein, die die Funktion der
Zelle beeinträchtigt. Moderne Zellen haben heutzutage eine Lebensdauer von etwa
500 Ladezyklen, was bei täglicher Nutzung einer Nutzungsdauer von etwa 2 Jahren
entspricht. Nach dieser Zeit nimmt der Alterungsprozess rapide zu, sodass die Zellen
nach 500 Ladezyklen als technisch defekt gelten. Die Zellen können sich zudem auf-
blähen und schlimmstenfalls Ihr Gerät irreparabel schädigen.
Aus diesem Grund sollten Akkus mit Lithium-Zellen spätestens nach 2 Jahren oder
nach Erreichen einer Akkukapazität von 50% des Ausgangswertes ausgetauscht wer-
den.
Achtung:
Der in diesem Gerät verwendete Akku kann bei unsachgemäßer Verwendung
Brände oder Verletzungen durch Chemikalien verursachen. Der Akku oder die
Akkuzellen dürfen nicht geöffnet, zerlegt, verbrannt oder Temperaturen über
60 °C ausgesetzt werden.
9 Zubehör
Es dürfen nur die folgenden Tragegeräte in den Gefahrenbereich mitgenommen wer-
den:

Nur der folgende Scan-Griff darf in Gefahrenbereichen in Kombination mit dem
i.roc®Ci70-Ex verwendet werden:

10 Kopfmodule
Die folgenden Kopfmodule sind erhältlich. Nur die im Folgenden genannten Kopfmo-
dule dürfen mit dem i.roc®Ci70 -Ex verwendet werden. Ein Austausch ist nur in den
ecom Servicecentern möglich.

11 Reparaturen
Reparaturen dürfen nur von der ecom instruments GmbH oder von Fachbetrieben
und Servicecentern durchgeführt werden, die von der ecom instrumentsGmbH au-
torisiert wurden, da die Sicherheit des Geräts nach der Reparatur überprüft werden
muss. Der Reparaturbegleitschein steht im Servicebereich unter at www.ecom-ex.
com zum Download bereit.
12 Reinigung, Wartung und Lagerung
• Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen des Handheld-Computers nur ein geeignetes
Tuch oder einen Schwamm. Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen keine lösungsmit-
telhaltigen Reiniger oder Scheuermittel.
• Es wird empfohlen, die Funktionsfähigkeit und Genauigkeit des Geräts alle
zwei Jahre vom Hersteller überprüfen zu lassen.
• Wird das Gerät für einen längeren Zeitraum nicht verwendet, ist das
Akkumodul zu entnehmen und sein Ladezustand in regelmäßigen Intervallen
zu überprüfen.
• Der zulässige Lagertemperaturbereich von -20°C bis +60°C darf nicht un-
ter- oder überschritten werden.
• Das Akkumodul darf nur in einem Temperaturbereich von -20°C bis +60°C
(maximal 1Monat) oder in einem Temperaturbereich von -20°C bis +25°C
(maximal 1Jahr) aufbewahrt werden.
13 Entsorgung
Alte Geräte der ecom instruments GmbH können entsprechend der EU-Richtlinie
2002/96/EC und der in Deutschland seit dem 16.03.2005 geltenden Bestimmung für
Elektroaltgeräte zur kostenlosen Entsorgung an uns zurückgeschickt werden. Die mit
der Rücksendung an die ecom instruments GmbH verbundenen Kosten trägt der
Sender.
Entsprechend Artikel 1, Abschnitt18 und Artikel 2 des Gesetzes zur Neuregelung
der abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für Batterien und Akkumulatoren vom
25.Juni2009 sind wir zur Angabe der folgenden Informationen verpichtet.
Ihr Gerät enthält einen wiederauadbaren Lithium-Akku.
Entladene Batterien oder wiederauadbare Akkus, die nicht mehr aufgeladen werden
können, dürfen nicht mit dem Rest- oder Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Alte Batterien
und Akkus können schädliche Substanzen enthalten, die Ihre Gesundheit gefährden
und die Umwelt belasten. Bitte geben Sie Batterien/wiederauadbare Akkus zurück.
Die Rückgabe ist kostenlos und gesetzlich vorgeschrieben. Entsorgen Sie entladene
Batterien bzw. Akkus nur in dafür vorgesehenen Behältern und isolieren Sie die An-
schlüsse von Lithium-Akkus mit Klebeband.
Achtung:
Der in diesem Gerät verwendete Akku kann bei unsachgemäßer Verwendung
Brände oder Verletzungen durch Chemikalien verursachen. Der Akku oder die Ak-
kuzellen dürfen nicht geöffnet, zerlegt, verbrannt oder Temperaturen über 60 °C
ausgesetzt werden. Muss der Akku entsorgt werden, entnehmen Sie ihn wie unter
Punkt 7 beschrieben aus dem Gerät. Die zuvor beschriebenen Entsorgungsbe-
stimmungen gelten auch für Altgeräte. Alle Batterien und Akkus können recycelt
werden. Kostbare Rohstoffe wie Eisen, Zink und Nickel lassen sich zurückgewin-
nen und erneut verwenden. Das Symbol hat die folgende Bedeutung: Batterien
und wiederauadbare Akkus dürfen nicht mit dem normalen Müll oder Hausmüll
entsorgt werden.

14 Garantie und Haftung
Entsprechend den allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen gewährt die ecom instru-
mentsGmbH für dieses Produkt eine Garantie von 2Jahren auf Funktion und Ma-
terial unter den angegebenen und zulässigen Betriebs- und Wartungsbedingungen.
Ausgenommen sind alle Teile, die einem Verschleiß bzw. einer Abnutzung unterlie-
gen (z.B. Akkus). Für den im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Ex-Akku gewähren wir eine
Herstellergarantie von 6 Monaten. Diese Garantie gilt nicht für Produkte, die nicht
ordnungsgemäß verwendet, verändert, vernachlässigt oder bei Unfällen beschädigt
wurden. Gleiches gilt für Geräte, die unzulässigen Betriebsbedingungen ausgesetzt
oder unsachgemäß verwendet wurden. Sämtliche Mängelansprüche im Rahmen die-
ser Garantie können durch Rücksendung des fehlerhaften Produkts an den Hersteller
beseitigt werden. Wir behalten uns das Recht vor, das Gerät zu reparieren, zu verän-
dern oder auszutauschen.
Die zuvor genannten Garantiebedingungen gelten ausschließlich für den Käufer. Sie
gelten exklusiv und ersetzen alle anderen vertraglichen oder gesetzlichen Verpich-
tungen. Die ecom instruments GmbH übernimmt keine Haftung für besondere, direk-
te, Begleit- oder Folgeschäden sowie für Verluste, beispielsweise Datenverlust, un-
abhängig davon, ob diese infolge einer Verletzung der Garantieverpichtung, durch
gesetzmäßiges und ungesetzmäßiges Handeln, Handeln in gutem Glauben usw. ver-
ursacht wurden.
Da die Beschränkung der gesetzlichen Garantie sowie der Ausschluss oder die Ein-
schränkung von Begleit- und Folgeschäden in bestimmten Ländern nicht zulässig
sind, gelten die zuvor genannten Beschränkungen und Ausschlüsse möglicherwei-
se nicht für jeden Käufer. Sollte eine Bestimmung dieser Garantiebedingungen nicht
gültig sein oder durch ein zuständiges Gericht für nicht vollstreckbar erklärt werden,
bleibt die Wirksamkeit und Gültigkeit der anderen Teile dieser Garantiebedingungen
davon unberührt.

1 Application
The i.roc® Ci70 -Ex is an intrinsically safe water-, dust- and impact resistant PDA for
industrial application in areas with an increased risk of explosion in zone 1, zone 2,
zone 21 and zone 22 in accordance with directive 1999/92/EC (ATEX 137) and 94/9/
EC (ATEX 95) and IECEx System
2 Safety precautions
These safety instructions contain information and safety regulations which are to be
observed without fail for safe operation in the described conditions. Non-observance
of this information and these instructions can have serious consequences or it may
violate regulations. Please read these safety instructions carefully before starting to
use the device! In the event of conicting information the details specied in the safety
precautions shall apply. In case of any doubt (in the form of translation or printing er-
rors) the English version shall apply.
3 Faults and damage
If there is any reason to suspect that the safety of the device has been impaired, it
must be withdrawn from use and removed immediately from the Ex-area. Measures
must be taken to prevent it from being restarted accidentally. The safety of the device
may be compromised, if for example:
• There is visible damage to the housing.
• The device has been subjected to excessive loads.
• The device has been improperly stored.
• The device has been damaged in transit.
• Device markings or inscriptions are illegible.
• Malfunctions occur.
• Permitted limit values have been exceeded.
4 Safety regulations
Use of the i.roc® Ci70 –Ex handheld computer assumes that the operator observes
the conventional safety regulations and has read the certicate of conformity in order
to eliminate faulty operation of the device.
The following points are to be observed:
• The device has to be protected against strong impacts.
• The device must be protected against permanent UV-radiation.
• The unit should not be used in close proximity to processes generating high
charges.
• Friction of the housing should be avoided as far as possible for electrostatic
reasons.
• Do not open the device inside Ex-areas.
• Use only the original battery module ”AM Ci70 –Ex”.
• It is not allowed to carry extra battery packs into the hazardous areas.
• The battery module may only be charged outside the Ex-area and only by
using the designated charging devices:

7 Changing the battery
Changing the battery is allowed only outside hazardous areas.
Please also observe the following safety regulations.
1. If the battery is mounted, switch off the handheld computer and turn the
battery module’s screw anti-clockwise with a suitable torx screwdriver.
2. Lift the battery module at the lower side.
3. The SIM and microSD slots are located under a cover in the battery
compartment. To open it unscrew all four screws using a suitable
screwdriver.
4. Insert your SIM card (WWAN version only) and – if needed – a microSD card
(max. 32 GB) into the referring slots.
5. Insert the battery module by rst placing the contacts on the top side of the
battery module into the respective contact in the mobile computer’s
housing in its battery compartment. Press the battery module down at the
lower side and tighten the screw of the battery clockwise with a suitable torx
screwdriver.
6. Do not overtighten the screw. It needs to be fastened hand-tight.
7. Charge the handheld computer: The battery supplied with the handheld
computer is not fully charged. It is recommended to charge the computer for
eight hours before using it for the rst time. The full capacity of the battery is
reached after 3 - 4 complete charge / discharge cycles.
Note:
• There is a risk of explosion if the battery is not exchanged properly or if it is
exposed to a ame.
• Do not short-circuit the battery.
• The battery does not contain any parts that can be exchanged.
• The casing of the battery should not be opened under any circumstances.
• Only use ecom charging accessories (see point 4).
• The use of other chargers or batteries is not permitted. Ex-protection cannot be
guaranteed in this case.
• Used batteries are to be disposed of properly.
• The charge level of the battery module should be checked after six months at
the latest in order to prevent deep discharge.
• If the battery is completely discharged, the handheld computer will not switch
on and the display will not show a charging process. Connect the handheld
computer to the charger. After charging for a few minutes the status LED will
appear and you can switch on the handheld computer.
8 Safety Precautions for the Battery
Damaged batteries and chargers should be removed from use and sent to ecom
instruments GmbH for inspection.
Note:
• Extreme temperatures can have an adverse effect on charging the battery
module.
• Do not dispose of the battery module in a re.
• Do not short-circuit the battery module.
• Dispose of the battery module in accordance with local regulations.
• Do not dispose of the battery module with normal household waste.
High quality lithium-ion batteries are used in your i.roc®Ci70 -Ex. These batteries have
numerous advantages in everyday use, such as a low weight and high capacity in a
nevertheless compact construction. In addition these batteries also exhibit practically
no memory effect. However, these batteries are susceptible to a natural ageing pro-
cess which impairs their functionality.
Modern batteries today have a lifespan of around 500 charge cycles, which, when
used daily, corresponds to a service life of approximately 2 years. The ageing process
increases rapidly after this period, which means that the batteries are deemed techni-
cally defective after 500 charge cycles. Moreover, the battery cells could expand and
cause irreparable damage to your device in a worst case scenario.
For this reason rechargeable batteries with lithium cells should be replaced after 2
years at the latest or after reaching a battery capacity that is 50% of its initial value.
Note:
The battery used in this unit poses a re hazard and can cause chemical injuries if it is used
improperly. Neither the battery nor the battery cells should be opened or disassem-
bled and they should not be burned or exposed to temperatures exceeding 60 °C.

11 Repair
Repairs are to be conducted by ecom instruments GmbH or by personnel or service
centers authorized by ecom instruments GmbH, because the safety of the device
needs to be tested after repairs are implemented. The actual repair report sheet can
be downloaded from the service area at www.ecom ex.com.
12 Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage
• Only use a suitable cloth or sponge to clean the handheld computer. Do not
use any solvents or abrasive cleaning agents when cleaning.

• It is recommended that you have the functionality and accuracy of the phone
inspected by the manufacturer every two years.
• If the unit is going to be stored for a prolonged period, remove the battery
module from the unit and check its charge condition at regular intervals.
• Do not exceed the permissible storage temperature range of
-20 °C ... +60 °C.
• The battery module should only be stored within a range of
-20 °C to +60 °C (for up to one month) or within a range of -20 °C to +25 °C
(for up to one year).
13 Disposal
Old electrical devices as well as „historical“ old electrical devices from ecom instru-
ments GmbH are supplied for disposal at our expense and disposed of free of charge
in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC and the German electrical law of
16/03/2005. The costs associated with returning devices to ecom instruments GmbH
are to be borne by the sender.
In accordance with Article 1, Section 18 and Article 2 of the Act revising the law
of Waste-Related Product Responsibility for Batteries and Accumulators (Gesetz zur
Neuregelung der abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für Batterien und Akkumu-
latoren) dated 25 June 2009, we are obligated to provide the following information.
Your device contains a rechargeable lithium battery.
Depleted batteries or rechargeable batteries that can no longer be recharged should
never be disposed of along with normal or household waste. Old batteries can contain
harmful substances that are hazardous to health and damaging to the environment.
Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries. Return is free of charge and re-
quired by law. Please only dispose of discharged batteries in the designated contain-
ers and tape the terminals of lithium batteries.
Note:
The battery used in this unit poses a re hazard and can cause chemical injuries if
it is used improperly. Neither the battery nor the battery cells should be opened or
disassembled and they should not be burned or exposed to temperatures exceed-
ing 60 °C. If the battery needs to be disposed of, it can be removed as described

14 Warranty and Liability
In accordance with our general terms and conditions ecom instruments GmbH pro-
vides a warranty for this product for a period of 2 years regarding its function and
material under the specied and permitted operating and maintenance conditions.
This excludes all parts that are subject to wear and tear (e.g. batteries). We provide a
6-month manufacturer‘s warranty especially for the supplied Ex-battery.
This warranty does not extend to products that are used improperly, have been modi-
ed, neglected, damaged in accidents or exposed to abnormal operating conditions
and inappropriate handling.
Any claims under the warranty can be invoked by returning the defective equipment
to the manufacturer. We reserve the right to repair, adjust or exchange the device.
The aforementioned warranty conditions are the sole and only right of the purchaser
to compensation, are exclusively valid and replace all other contract or legal warranty
obligations. ecom instruments GmbH assumes no liability for special, direct, indirect,
accompanying or consequential damage as well as losses including the loss of data,
independent of whether it was caused by violation of the warranty obligation, lawful or
unlawful action, action in good faith or any other action.
If the limitation of a legal warranty as well as the exclusion or limitation of accompany-
ing or consequential damage is not permissible in certain countries, it may be that the
aforementioned limitations and exclusions are not valid for every purchaser. Should
any such clause of these warranty conditions be declared ineffective or unenforce-
able by a competent court, then the effectiveness or enforceability of any of the other
conditions of these warranty conditions shall remain unaffected by such a judgment.

1 Application
L’ i.roc® Ci70 -Ex est un PDA à sécurité intrinsèque, étanche et résistant à la poussière
et aux chocs, destiné à être utilisé pour les applications industrielles, dans les zones
dangereuses comportant un risque accru d’explosion en zone 1, zone 2, zone 21 et
zone 22, conformément aux directives 1999/92/CE (ATEX 137), 94/9/CE (ATEX 95) et
au système IECEx.
2 Remarques relatives à la sécurité
Ces remarques relatives à la sécurité contiennent des informations et des réglemen-
tations de sécurité qui doivent être strictement observées pour une utilisation sans
danger dans les conditions indiquées. Le non-respect de ces informations et instruc-
tions peut avoir des conséquences graves et violer les réglementations. Prière de lire
attentivement ces remarques relatives à la sécurité avant de commencer à utiliser
l’appareil ! En cas d’informations contradictoires, les détails précisés dans les re-
marques relatives à la sécurité prévaudront. En cas de doute (sous la forme d’erreurs
de traduction ou d’impression), la version en anglais est applicable.
3 Pannes et dommages
Si l’on suspecte une défaillance du dispositif de sécurité de l’appareil, il ne doit plus
être utilisé et doit être retiré immédiatement de la zone Ex. Prendre les mesures néces-
saires pour prévenir toute remise en marche accidentelle. La sécurité de l’appareil
peut être compromise, si par exemple:
• Des dommages externes sont visibles sur le boîtier.
• Le dispositif a été soumis à des charges excessives.
• Le dispositif a été stocké de manière incorrecte.
• Le dispositif a été endommagé lors du transport.
• Des marquages ou inscriptions sur le dispositif sont illisibles.
• Le dispositif présente des dysfonctionnements.
• Les valeurs limites autorisées ont été dépassées.
4 Règlementation en matière de sécurité
L’utilisation de l’ordinateur portable i.roc® Ci70 -Ex à sécurité intrinsèque, suppose
que l’utilisateur respecte les réglementations de sécurité conventionnelles et ait lu le
certicat de conformité pour en éviter toute utilisation inappropriée.
Les points suivants doivent être respectés:
• Le dispositif doit être protégé contre les impacts violents.
• Le dispositif doit être protégé contre une exposition permanente aux rayons UV.
• Le dispositif ne doit pas être utilisé trop près de processus générant des
charges importantes.
• Éviter autant que possible les frictions sur le boîtier pour des raisons
électrostatiques.
• Ne pas ouvrir le dispositif à l’intérieur des zones Ex.
• Utiliser exclusivement le module de batterie d’origine «AM Ci70 -Ex».
• Il est interdit de transporter des modules de batterie supplémentaires dans
les zones dangereuses.
• Le module de batterie ne doit être chargé qu’en dehors de la zone Ex et
seulement à l’aide des chargeurs conçus à cet effet.

7 Remplacement de la batterie
La batterie ne peut être remplacée qu‘en dehors des zones dangereuses.
Respecter également les règlementations en matière de sécurité suivantes.
1. Si la batterie est montée, arrêtez l’ordinateur portable et tournez les vis du
module de batterie dans le sens antihoraire à l’aide d’un tournevis Torx.
2. Soulevez le module de batterie du côté inférieur.
3. Les fentes pour cartes SIM et micro SD sont situées sous le couvercle, dans
le compartiment de la batterie. Pour l’ouvrir, desserrez les quatre vis à l’aide
d’un tournevis adapté.
4. Insérez votre carte SIM (version WWAN uniquement) et le cas échéant une
carte micro SD (max. 32Go) dans les fentes correspondantes.
5. Insérez le module de batterie en commençant par placer les contacts en
haut du module de batterie dans les contacts correspondants du comparti-
ment de la batterie du boîtier de l’ordinateur portable. Appuyez en bas du
module de batterie vers le bas et serrez les vis du compartiment de la batte-
rie dans le sens horaire à l’aide d’un tournevis Torx.
6. Ne serrez pas les vis excessivement. Elles doivent être serrées normalement
à la main.
7. Chargement de l’ordinateur portable: La batterie fournie avec l’ordinateur
portable n’est pas complètement chargée. Il est recommandé de charger
l’ordinateur pendant huit heures avant sa première utilisation. La pleine ca-
pacité de la batterie est atteinte après 3 à 4 cycles complets de chargement/
déchargement.
Attention:
•
Il existe un risque d’explosion si la batterie n’est pas remplacée dans les condi-
tions requises ou si elle est exposée à une amme.
•
Ne pas court-circuiter la batterie.
•
La batterie ne contient aucune pièce pouvant être remplacée.
•
Le boîtier de la batterie ne doit en aucun cas être ouvert.
•
Utiliser uniquement les accessoires ecom pour charger la batterie (voir le para-
graphe 4).
•
L’utilisation de tout autre chargeur ou batterie est interdite. La protection Ex ne
peut pas être garantie dans ce cas.
•
Les batteries usagées doivent être éliminées de la manière appropriée.
•
Le niveau de chargement du module de batterie doit être contrôlé tous les six
mois au moins an d’éviter un déchargement profond.
•
Si la batterie est totalement déchargée, l’ordinateur portable ne se met pas
en marche et l’écran ne donne aucune indication de chargement. Connecter
l’ordinateur portable au chargeur. Après quelques minutes de chargement, une
LED d’état s’éclaire et vous pouvez alors allumer l’ordinateur portable.
8 Remarques relatives à la sécurité de la batterie
Les modules de batterie et chargeurs endommagés ne doivent pas être utilisés. Il est
recommandé de les envoyer à ecom instruments GmbH en vue de leur vérication.
Attention:
•
Des températures extrêmes peuvent affecter la capacité de votre
•
module de batterie à se charger.
•
Ne pas jeter le module de batterie au feu.
•
Ne pas court-circuiter le module de batterie.
•
Éliminer le module de batterie conformément à la législation
•
locale. Ne pas jeter le module de batterie dans une poubelle
•
réservée aux ordures ménagères.

La batterie de votre i.roc® Ci70 -Ex est composée d’éléments Lithium Ion à haute per-
formance. Ces éléments offrent de nombreux avantages au quotidien, parmi lesquels
un poids léger et de hautes capacités malgré leur conception compacte. Par ailleurs,
ils ne présentent quasiment aucun effet mémoire.
Ces éléments sont toutefois soumis à un vieillissement naturel qui entrave leur fonc-
tionnement. Les éléments de batterie modernes ont actuellement une durée de vie
d’environ 500 cycles de chargement, ce qui correspond à une durée d’utilisation
d’environ 2 ans en cas de fonctionnement au quotidien de l‘appareil. Une fois cette
durée écoulée, le vieillissement naturel s’accélère, de sorte que les éléments sont
techniquement considérés comme étant défectueux au bout de 500 cycles de char-
gement. Les éléments de la batterie risquent en outre de goner et, dans le pire des
cas, de causer des dommages irréparables à votre appareil. Il est pour cette raison
recommandé de remplacer les accumulateurs au lithium au plus tard au bout de 2 ans
ou dès lors que la capacité de l’accumulateur a atteint 50 % de sa capacité initiale.
Attention:
la batterie contenue dans cet appareil présente un risque d’incendie et peut pro-
voquer des blessures chimiques si elle n’est pas utilisée correctement. Ne jamais
ouvrir ni démonter la batterie ou les cellules de la batterie et ne jamais les brûler
ou les exposer à destempératures supérieures à 60 °C.

11 Réparation
Les réparations doivent être effectuées par ecom instruments GmbH ou par un per-
sonnel ou des centres de réparation autorisés par ecom instruments GmbH, car la
sécurité de l’appareil doit être testée une fois la réparation effectuée. Vous pouvez
télécharger la che de rapport de réparation actuelle depuis la partie relative à l’entre-
tien du site www.ecom-ex.com.
12 Nettoyage, maintenance et stockage
• Utilisez uniquement une éponge ou un tissu adapté pour nettoyer l’ordina-
teur portable. Ne pas utiliser de solvant ni agent abrasif pour le nettoyage.
• Il est recommandé de faire contrôler le fonctionnement et la précision du té-
léphone tous les deux ans par le fabricant.
• Si l’appareil doit être stocké pendant une période prolongée, retirer le mo-
dule de batterie de l’appareil et contrôler l’état de chargement à intervalles
réguliers.
• Ne pas dépasser la plage de températures de stockage de -20 °C ... +60 °C
• Le module de batterie doit être stocké dans une plage de température allant
de -20°C à +60 °C (jusqu’à unmois) ou dans une plage de température al-
lant de -20 °C à +25 °C (jusqu’à un an).
•
13 Mise au rebut
Les appareils électriques usagés et les appareils électriques usagés «historiques»
d’ecom instruments GmbH sont fournis pour une mise au rebut à nos frais et mis au
rebut gratuitement conformément à la directive européenne 2002/96/CE et à la loi
allemande sur les appareils électriques du 16/03/2005. Les coûts liés au retour des
appareils à ecom instruments GmbH sont à la charge de l’expéditeur.
Conformément à l’article 1, § 18 et à l’article 2 de la loi du 25 juin 2009 sur la nouvelle
réglementation de la responsabilité pour les produits soumis au droit des déchets

14 Garantie et responsabilité
Conformément à nos termes et conditions, ecom instruments GmbH offre une garan-
tie pour ce produit et pour une période de 2 ans, pièces et main d’œuvre, en respect
des conditions d’entretien et d’utilisation permises et spéciées. Ceci ne comprend
pas les pièces d’usure (ex : batteries). Nous fournissons une garantie de 6 mois du
fabricant ‘ tout particulièrement pour la batterie Ex fournie. Cette garantie ne couvre
pas les produits qui sont utilisés de manière incorrecte, ont été modiés, négligés,
endommagés lors d’accidents ou exposés à des conditions de fonctionnement anor-

1 Toepassing
De i.roc®Ci70 -Ex is een intrinsiek veilige en water-, stof- en stootbestendige hand-
computer voor industrieel gebruik in omgevingen met een verhoogd explosiegevaar
in de zones 1, 2, 21 en 22. Het apparaat voldoet aan de richtlijnen 1999/92/EG (ATEX
137), 94/9/EG (ATEX 95) en het IECEx-systeem.
2 Veiligheidsinstructies
Deze veiligheidsinstructies bevatten informatie en veiligheidsvoorschriften die zonder
uitzondering en te allen tijde moeten worden nageleefd voor een veilig gebruik onder
de beschreven omstandigheden. Het niet naleven van deze informatie en instructies
kan ernstige gevolgen hebben of een schending van voorschriften zijn. Lees deze
veiligheidsinstructies zorgvuldig door voordat u het apparaat gaat gebruiken. In het
geval van tegenstrijdige informatie hebben de gegevens in de veiligheidsinstructies
voorrang. In geval van twijfel (in de vorm van vertaalfouten of drukfouten) is de En-
gelse versie doorslaggevend.
3 Defecten en beschadiging
Als er reden is om te vermoeden dat het apparaat niet meer veilig werkt, moet het
onmiddellijk buiten gebruik worden gesteld en buiten het gebied met explosiegevaar
worden gebracht. Neem maatregelen om te voorkomen dat het apparaat per ongeluk
weer wordt ingeschakeld. De veiligheid van het apparaat kan bijvoorbeeld in de vol-
gende gevallen zijn aangetast:
• Er is zichtbare schade aan de behuizing.
• Het apparaat is blootgesteld aan overmatige belasting.
• Het apparaat is op onjuiste wijze opgeslagen.
• Het apparaat heeft transportschade opgelopen.
• Markeringen of opschriften op het apparaat zijn onleesbaar.
• Het apparaat functioneert niet meer correct.
• Toegestane limieten zijn overschreden.
4 Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Voor gebruik van de handcomputer i.roc®Ci70 -Ex wordt aangenomen dat de ge-
bruiker de gebruikelijke veiligheidsvoorschriften naleeft en de conformiteitsverklaring
heeft gelezen zodat het apparaat op juiste wijze wordt bediend.
Volg onderstaande instructies op:
• Bescherm het apparaat tegen sterke schokken.
• Bescherm het apparaat tegen permanente blootstelling aan UV-straling.
• Gebruik het apparaat niet in de buurt van processen waarbij sterke ladingen
worden opgewekt.
• Stel de behuizing zo min mogelijk bloot aan wrijving die statische elektriciteit
kan opwekken.
• Open het apparaat niet wanneer binnen een gebied met explosiegevaar.
• Gebruik alleen de originele batterijmodule AM Ci70 -Ex.
• Het is niet toegestaan om reservebatterijen mee te nemen in de risicozone.
• De batterijmodule mag alleen worden opgeladen buiten het gebied met ex-
plosiegevaar en alleen met de gespeciceerde oplader.

7 De batterij vervangen
Het vervangen van de batterij is alleen toegestaan buiten risicozones. Neem ook de
onderstaande veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht.
1. Als er een batterij is geplaatst, schakelt u de handcomputer uit en draait u
de schroef van de batterijmodule linksom met een geschikte torx-sleutel of
-schroevendraaier.
2. Til de batterijmodule op aan de onderzijde.
3. De sleuven voor de SIM-kaart en de microSD-kaart bevinden zich onder een
klepje in het batterijvak. Open dit klepje door alle vier schroeven met een
passende schroevendraaier los te maken.
4. Plaats de SIM-kaart (alleen bij de WWAN-versie) en desgewenst een mi-
croSD-kaart (max. 32 GB) in de betreffende sleuven.
5. Plaats de batterijmodule door eerst de contacten op de bovenzijde van de
batterijmodule in de corresponderende contacten in het batterijvak van de
computer te steken. Druk de batterijmodule vanaf de onderzijde in het vak
en draai de schroef van het batterijcompartiment rechtsom vast met een
passende torxsleutel of -schroevendraaier.
6. Draai de schroef niet te strak vast: handvast is voldoende
7. Laad de computer op: de batterij die met het apparaat wordt meegeleverd,
is niet volledig opgeladen. U wordt aangeraden deze acht uur op te laden
voordat u de handcomputer in gebruik neemt. De batterij bereikt zijn volledi-
ge capaciteit na 3 tot 4 maal volledig te zijn opgeladen en ontladen.
Opmerking:
•
Als de batterij niet correct wordt vervangen of wordt blootgesteld aan open
vuur, bestaat het risico dat hij explodeert.
•
Sluit de batterij niet kort.
•
De batterij bevat geen vervangbare onderdelen.
•
Maak nooit de behuizing van de batterij open.
•
Gebruik alleen ecom-accessoires (zie punt 4: Veiligheidsvoorschriften).
•
Gebruik van andere opladers of batterijen is niet toegestaan. In dergelijke ge-
vallen kan de Ex-bescherming niet meer worden gegarandeerd.
•
Voer gebruikte batterijen op de juiste wijze af.
•
Controleer de resterende batterijcapaciteit minstens eens per 6 maanden, om
diepontlading te voorkomen.
•
Als de batterij volledig ontladen is, kan de handcomputer niet worden inge-
schakeld en geeft de display geen oplaadvoortgang aan. Sluit de handcom-
puter aan op de oplader. Het apparaat begint de batterij op te laden en na
enkele minuten gaat de status-led branden. U kunt dan de handcomputer weer
inschakelen.
8 Veiligheidsinstructies voor de batterij
Beschadigde batterijen en laders mogen niet meer worden gebruikt. Stuur deze ter
controle naar ecom instruments GmbH.
Opmerking:
•
Extreme temperaturen kunnen een nadelige invloed hebben op het opladen
van de batterij.
•
Gooi de batterij niet in vuur.
•
Sluit de batterij niet kort.
•
Zorg voor afvoer van de batterij overeenkomstig plaatselijk geldende voor-
schriften. Gooi de batterij niet bij het huisvuil.
Uw i.roc®Ci70 -Ex maakt gebruik van hoogwaardige lithium-ioncellen. In het dage-
lijks gebruik bieden deze cellen vele voordelen, zoals een gering gewicht en hoge
capaciteit bij een compact formaat. Daarnaast hebben zij praktisch geen last van
geheugeneffect.
Toch treedt ook bij deze cellen veroudering (slijtage) op, waardoor hun capaciteit
langzaam afneemt. Moderne cellen hebben een levensduur van ongeveer 500 op-
laadcyclussen, wat bij dagelijks gebruik overeenkomt met een gebruiksduur van
ongeveer twee jaar. Daarna worden zij in technisch opzicht als defect beschouwd,
omdat het verouderingsproces dan versnelt. Daarnaast kunnen de cellen opzwellen
en in het ergste geval uw apparaat onherstelbaar beschadigen.
Het wordt daarom aanbevolen om accu’s met lithiumcellen te vervangen na uiterlijk
twee jaar gebruik of als de capaciteit is teruggelopen tot 50 % van de oorspronkelijke
capaciteit.
Opmerking:
Bij onjuist gebruik kan de batterij in dit apparaat brand of chemisch letsel
veroorzaken. Zowel de batterij als de batterijcellen mogen niet worden geopend,
gedemonteerd, verbrand of blootgesteld aan temperaturen boven 60 °C.
9 Accessoires
De handcomputer mag in de risicozone alleen worden gebruikt in combinatie met de

11 Reparatie
In verband met de na reparatie noodzakelijke veiligheidstechnische controle mogen
reparaties alleen worden uitgevoerd door ecom instruments GmbH of een door ecom
geautoriseerde persoon of reparatiedienst. Het hiervoor benodigde aanmeldformulier
kunt u downloaden van de pagina Service - Reparatie op onze website www.ecom-
ex.com.

12 Reiniging, onderhoud en opslag
• Gebruik alleen een geschikte doek of spons om het apparaat te reinigen.
Gebruik bij het reinigen geen oplosmiddelen of schuurmiddelen.
• Het is raadzaam om het functioneren en de nauwkeurigheid van het appa-
raat minstens iedere twee jaar te laten testen door de fabrikant.
• Neem de batterij uit het apparaat als u het langere tijd opslaat. Controleer re-
gelmatig (minstens eens per 2 maanden) de resterende capaciteit.
• Bewaar het apparaat uitsluitend bij temperaturen tussen -20 °C ... +60 °C.
• Bewaar de batterij uitsluitend bij temperaturen tussen -20 °C en +60 °C
(maximaal 1 maand) of tussen -20 °C en +25 °C (maximaal 1 jaar).
13 Correcte verwijdering van het product
Afgedankte elektrische apparatuur alsmede ‘historische’ oude elektrische apparatuur
van de rma ecom instruments GmbH wordt op onze kosten naar afvalverwerkings-
bedrijven gebracht en volgens de Europese richtlijn 2002/96/EG en de Duitse wet
inzake elektrische apparatuur van 16 maart 2005 gratis afgevoerd. Verzending van
de apparaten naar ecom instruments GmbH geschiedt op kosten van de verzender.
Conform artikel 1, paragraaf 18, en artikel 2 van het ‘Gesetz zur Neuregelung der
abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für Batterien und Akkumulatoren’ (Wet op het
opnieuw regelen van de wettelijke verantwoordelijkheid voor verwijdering van batte-
rijen en accumulatoren) van 25 juni 2009 wijzen wij u op het volgende:
Het door u aangeschafte apparaat bevat een oplaadbare lithiumbatterij.
Het is niet toegestaan dergelijke batterijen met het huishoudelijk afval mee te geven
als zij ‘leeg’ zijn (d.w.z. als zij niet meer kunnen worden opgeladen). Omdat afgedank-
te batterijen of accu’s stoffen bevatten die mogelijk schadelijk zijn voor milieu en ge-
zondheid, wordt u verzocht deze in te leveren. Het inleveren van batterijen en accu’s
is kostenloos en bovendien wettelijk verplicht. Lever a.u.b. alleen ontladen batterijen
in bij de daarvoor bedoelde inzamelpunten en plak de polen van lithiumbatterijen af.
Opmerking:
Bij onjuist gebruik kan de batterij in dit apparaat brand of chemisch letsel veroor-
zaken. Zowel de batterij als de batterijcellen mogen niet worden geopend, gede-
monteerd, verbrand of blootgesteld aan temperaturen boven 60 °C. Als de batterij
moet worden verwijderd, kunt u hem uit het apparaat halen volgens de instructies
in punt 7. Voor het overige gelden de hierboven genoemde verwijderingsinstructies
voor afgedankte apparatuur. Alle accu’s en batterijen worden gerecycled; hiermee
worden waardevolle grondstoffen zoals ijzer, zink en nikkel teruggewonnen. Het
symbool heeft de volgende betekenis: batterijen en accu’s mogen niet in het huis-
houdelijk afval, maar moeten gescheiden worden ingezameld.
14 Garantie en aansprakelijkheid
Voor dit product verleent ecom instruments GmbH conform de algemene voorwaar-
den een garantie van 2 jaar op functie en materiaal onder de aangegeven en toege-
stane gebruiks- en onderhoudsomstandigheden. Een uitzondering hierop vormen alle
aan slijtage onderhevige onderdelen (zoals bijvoorbeeld batterijen). Speciaal voor
de meegeleverde Ex-batterij verlenen wij een fabrieksgarantie van 6 maanden. Deze
garantie vervalt als producten onjuist gebruikt, gewijzigd, verwaarloosd of door onge-
vallen beschadigd zijn, dan wel aan abnormale gebruiksomstandigheden of onjuiste
hantering werden blootgesteld. Garantieclaims kunnen worden ingediend door het
defecte apparaat naar de fabrikant te retourneren. Wij behouden ons het recht voor
het apparaat te repareren, aan te passen of te vervangen.
Deze garantiebepalingen zijn het enige en uitsluitende recht op schadevergoeding
van de koper en gelden uitsluitend en in plaats van alle overige contractuele of wet-
telijke garantieplichten. ecom instruments GmbH aanvaardt geen aansprakelijkheid
voor speciale, directe, indirecte, begeleidende of vervolgschade alsmede verliezen,
met inbegrip van gegevensverlies, ongeacht of deze te wijten zijn aan schending van
de garantieplicht, rechtmatige of onrechtmatige handelingen, handelingen te goeder
trouw alsmede andere handelingen.
Als beperking van wettelijke garantie en het uitsluiten of beperken van begeleidende
of vervolgschade niet is toegestaan in bepaalde landen, zijn de hiervoor genoemde
beperkingen en uitsluitingen mogelijk niet van toepassing op iedere koper. Mocht
enige clausule van de garantiebepalingen ongeldig of niet-afdwingbaar worden ver-
klaard door een daartoe bevoegd rechtsorgaan, dan blijft de effectiviteit en afdwing-
baarheid van alle overige garantiebepalingen onverminderd van kracht.

1 Impiego
L’i.roc® Ci70 -Ex è un PDA a sicurezza intrinseca, impermeabile all’acqua, resistente
alla polvere e agli urti, per applicazioni industriali in settori con un elevato rischio
di esplosioni per la zona 1, zona 2, zona 21 e zona 22 come previsto dalle direttive
1999/92/EC (ATEX 137), 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) e dal sistema IECEx.
2 Indicazioni di sicurezza

3 Difetti e danni
Se per qualsiasi motivo si sospetta che la sicurezza del dispositivo sia stata compro-

4 Prescrizioni di sicurezza
L’utilizzo del computer palmare i.roc® Ci70 -Ex presuppone che l’operatore osservi le
prescrizioni di sicurezza convenzionali e abbia letto il certicato di conformità al ne
di eliminare i problemi di funzionamento del dispositivo.
È necessario osservare le seguenti prescrizioni:
• il dispositivo non deve subire forti urti.
• il dispositivo deve sempre essere protetto dalle radiazioni UV.
• l’unità non deve essere utilizzata vicino a processi che generano cariche
elevate.
• evitare di sfregare le parti esterne del dispositivo per impedire la possibile
formazione di cariche elettrostatiche.
• non aprire il dispositivo all’interno delle aree a rischio esplosione.
• utilizzare esclusivamente il modulo batteria originale “AM Ci70-Ex”.
• non è consentito portare batterie supplementari all’interno delle aree
pericolose.
• il modulo batteria può essere ricaricato solo fuori dall’area a rischio esplosio-
ne e solo utilizzando l’apposito caricabatterie:

sporcizia.

7 Sostituzione della batteria
La sostituzione della batteria è consentita solo al di fuori dalle zone a rischio esplosio-
ne. Osservare anche le seguenti prescrizioni di sicurezza.
1. Per rimuovere la batteria installata, spegnere il computer palmare e svitare la
vite del modulo batteria in senso antiorario con un apposito cacciavite torx.
2. Sollevare il modulo batteria dal lato inferiore.
3. Gli slot per la SIM e la scheda microSD sono situati sotto un coperchio nel
vano della batteria. Per aprirlo, svitare le quattro viti utilizzando un apposito
cacciavite.
4. Inserire la SIM (solo versione WWAN) e, se necessario, una scheda microSD
(max. 32 GB) negli appositi slot.
5. Inserire il modulo batteria posizionando dapprima i contatti sul lato superiore
del modulo batteria in corrispondenza dei contatti collocati nel vano batteria
del computer palmare. Premere il modulo batteria dal lato inferiore e avvitare
la vite della batteria in senso orario con un apposito cacciavite torx.
6. Non stringere eccessivamente la vite, ma ssarla saldamente a mano.
7. Caricare il computer palmare: la batteria fornita insieme al computer palmare
non è completamente carica. Si raccomanda di caricare il computer palmare
per otto ore prima di utilizzarlo per la prima volta. La piena capacità della
batteria viene raggiunta dopo 3 - 4 cicli completi di caricamento/
scaricamento.
Attenzione:
•
c’è il rischio che la batteria esploda, se non viene sostituita nel modo corretto
o se viene esposta a fonti di calore eccessive.
•
non sottoporre la batteria a corto circuito.
•
la batteria non contiene componenti che possono essere sostituiti.
•
non aprire l’involucro della batteria in nessun caso.
•
utilizzare esclusivamente accessori di ricarica ecom (vedi punto 4).
•
non è consentito utilizzare caricabatterie o batterie non autorizzati. In tal caso
la protezione in ambienti a rischio esplosione non è più garantita.
•
le batterie scariche devono essere adeguatamente smaltite.
•
il livello di carica del modulo batteria deve essere controllato al massimo dopo
sei mesi in modo da evitare uno scaricamento completo.
•
se la batteria è completamente scarica, il computer palmare non si accende e
il display non visualizza il processo di ricarica. Connettere il computer palmare
al caricabatterie. Dopo qualche minuto, il LED di stato si illumina ed è quindi
possibile accendere il computer palmare.
8 Indicazioni di sicurezza per la batteria
Non è consentito procedere all‘uso di batterie e caricatori danneggiati; questi vanno
in tal caso spediti ad ecom instruments GmbH per essere sottoposti a controllo.
Attenzione:
•
Temperature estreme possono inuire negativamente sul caricamento del
modulo batteria.
•
Non gettare il modulo batteria nel fuoco.
•
Non sottoporre il modulo batteria a corto circuito.
•
Smaltire il modulo batteria secondo le disposizioni locali. Non gettare il modu-
lo batteria insieme ai riuti domestici.

Il vostro i.roc® Ci70 -Ex è alimentato con batterie agli ioni di litio d’alta qualità. Nell’u-
so quotidiano, queste celle presentano numerosi vantaggi come un peso contenuto
ed elevate capacità, nonostante le dimensioni molto compatte. Questi tipi di batterie
sono pressoché esenti da effetto memory.
Ciò nonostante anche queste batterie sono soggette ad una naturale usura che pre-
giudica la funzionalità della batterie. La durata utile di celle moderne corrisponde
all’incirca a 500 cicli di carica. Presumendo un utilizzo giornaliero, la durata utile è di
quindi ca. 2 anni. Trascorso questo periodo, il processo di invecchiamento subentra in
modo rapido, tanto che dopo 500 cicli di carica le celle sono considerate guaste dal
punto di vista tecnico. Le celle possono in tal caso anche mostrare un rigonamento
e danneggiare, in casi estremi, il vostro apparecchio irrimediabilmente. Per questo
motivo si consiglia di sostituire le batterie dotate di celle al litio al massimo dopo 2 anni
o raggiunta una capacità della batteria del 50% rispetto al valore di partenza.
Attenzione:
in caso di impiego non conforme, la batteria utilizzata in questo dispositivo può
essere causa di incendio e lesioni chimiche. Non è consentito aprire o smontare
la batteria o le celle della batteria, né esporle a temperature superiori a 60° C o
gettarle nel fuoco.

11 Riparazioni
Le riparazioni devono essere eseguite da ecom instruments GmbH o da personale o
centri di assistenza autorizzati da ecom instruments GmbH in quanto, dopo l’esecu-
zione delle riparazioni, il dispositivo dev’essere sottoposto ad appositi controlli di si-
curezza. L’attuale certicato di riparazione può essere scaricato alla voce assistenza
all’indirizzo www.ecomex.com.
12 Pulizia, manutenzione e conservazione
• Per la pulizia del computer palmare, utilizzare un panno o una spugna ido-
nei. Non utilizzare solventi o detergenti abrasivi per pulire l’apparecchio.
• Ogni due anni si consiglia di far controllare dalla casa produttrice le funzioni
e la precisione dell’apparecchio.
• Se l’apparecchio non viene adoperato per un periodo prolungato, rimuovere
il modulo batteria dall’unità controllando regolarmente il livello di carica.
• Conservare l’apparecchio a una temperatura compresa tra -20 °C e +60 °C.
• Il modulo batteria dev’essere conservato a una temperatura compresa tra
-20 °C e +60 °C (no a un mese) o tra -20 °C e +25 °C (no a un anno).
13 Smaltimento
ecom instruments GmbH si fa carico dello smaltimento dei dispositivi elettrici datati,
così come di quelli “storici”, che vengono quindi eliminati senza alcuna spesa a carico
dell’utente, come stabilito nella direttiva europea 2002/96/EC e nella legislazione te-
desca relativa ai dispositivi elettrici (16/03/2005). I costi associati alla restituzione dei
dispositivi a ecom instruments GmbH sono invece a carico del mittente.
Ai sensi degli art. 1, §18 e art. 2 della legge del 25 giugno 2009 che disciplina le
nuove regole sullo smaltimento di pile e accumulatori in termini di responsabilità di
prodotto (Gesetz zur Neuregelung der abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für
Batterien und Akkumulatoren), siamo obbligati a fornire le seguenti informazioni.
Il dispositivo è dotato di un accumulatore al litio.
Non è consentito smaltire tra i riuti normali o domestici le batterie scariche o quel-
le che non possono più essere ricaricate. Le batterie scariche possono contenere
sostanze nocive per la salute e l’ambiente. Si prega di consegnare tali batterie agli
appositi centri di raccolta. Il servizio è gratuito ed è prescritto dalle normative vigenti.
Si prega di gettare negli appositi contenitori di raccolta solo batterie scariche isolando
i poli delle batterie al litio.
Attenzione:
in caso di impiego non conforme, la batteria utilizzata in questo dispositivo può

come ferro, zinco o nichel. Il simbolo ha il seguente signicato: non è consentito
gettare batterie e accumulatori tra i riuti normali o domestici.
14 Garanzia e responsabilità
In base ai termini e alle condizioni generali, ecom instruments GmbH offre per questo
prodotto una garanzia di 2 anni, che copre il corretto funzionamento e i materiali nel-
le condizioni operative e di manutenzione specicate e permesse. Sono esclusi da
tale garanzia tutti i componenti soggetti ad usura (ad es. batterie). Forniamo inoltre
una garanzia di sei mesi appositamente studiata per la batteria da utilizzare in aree
a rischio di esplosione. Tale garanzia non copre prodotti utilizzati impropriamente,
modicati, trascurati, accidentalmente danneggiati o sottoposti a condizioni di fun-
zionamento anomale nonché ad uso improprio. Interventi di garanzia possono essere
richiesti inviando l’apparecchio difettoso alla casa produttrice. Ci riserviamo il diritto di
effettuare riparazioni, interventi di regolazione o di sostituire l’apparecchio.

Le disposizioni di garanzia premesse rappresentano l’unico diritto di risarcimento
per l’acquirente e hanno valore esclusivo rispetto a tutti gli altri obblighi di garanzia
contrattuali e previsti per legge. ecom instruments GmbH non si assume alcuna re-
sponsabilità per danni speciali, diretti, indiretti, danni secondari o conseguenti o per
perdite compresa la perdita di dati, a prescindere dal fatto che essa sia riconducibile
a violazione dell’obbligo di garanzia, ad atti legittimi o illegittimi, ad azioni in buona
fede o altri tipi di azioni.
Nel caso in cui in alcuni paesi non sia possibile la limitazione di una prestazione
di garanzia prevista dalla legge e l’esclusione o la limitazione di danni secondari o
conseguenti, potrebbe risultare che le limitazioni citate non siano da considerarsi va-
lide per l’acquirente. Qualora una delle clausole delle presenti condizioni di garanzia
dovesse essere dichiarata non valida o non applicabile da un tribunale competente,
la validità o l’applicabilità di tutte le altre condizioni di garanzia rimane inalterata no-
nostante la sentenza.
