General Information & Cleaning: Installation:
READ THIS FIRST:
Check the pack and make sure you have all of
the parts listed on the front of this booklet. If
not, contact the outlet where you bought this
product.
This product contains glass, care must be taken
when assembling, fitting or handling to prevent
personal injury or damage to the product.
This product must be installed by a
competent person in accordance with the
current building and IEE wiring regulations.
As the buyer, installer and/or user of this product
it is your own responsibility to ensure that this
fitting is fit for the purpose for which you have
intended it. Eterna Lighting cannot accept any
liability for loss, damage or premature failure
resulting from inappropriate use.
If in any doubt, consult a qualified
electrician.
Switch off the mains before commencing
installation and remove the appropriate circuit
fuse or lock off MCB.
This unit is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
This product is designed for permanent
connection to fixed wiring: this must be a
suitable circuit (protected with the appropriate
MCB or fuse).
This product is suitable for installation on
surfaces with normal flammability e.g. wood,
plasterboard and masonry. It is not suitable
for use on highly flammable surfaces (e.g.
polystyrene, textiles).
Before making fixing hole(s), check that
there are no obstructions hidden beneath the
mounting surface such as pipes or cables.
When choosing the location for your new fitting,
give consideration to the ease and frequency of
lamp changes. The fitting should not be installed
in a position where it will be difficult to reach,
especially if using incandescent lamps that
typically have relatively short lamp life.
When making connections ensure that the
terminals are tightened securely and that
no strands of wire protrude. Check that
the terminals are tightened onto the bared
conductors and not onto any insulation.
This product is double insulated; do not connect
either the blue/brown wires or any part to the
earth terminal.
IMPORTANT - this fitting must be installed so
that the lamp cap points downwards, i.e. the
glass envelope is uppermost.
Always isolate at the mains before changing the
lamp.
You are advised at every stage of your
installation to double-check any electrical
connections you have made. After you have
completed your installation there are electrical
tests that should be carried out, these tests are
specified in the current IEE wiring and building
regulations.
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
CLEANING:
Clean this product only with a soft dry cloth.
Disconnect the power and clean the exterior
only of this fitting with a moist (not wet) cloth.
The diffuser may be removed and washed in a
mild detergent solution. Ensure the diffuser is
completely dry before replacing onto your fitting.
Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners.
INSTALLATION:
Choose the location for your new light fitting
according to the conditions listed opposite.
01. Undo the screw on the front of the fitting and
remove the wire guard and glass diffuser.
02. Using the back of the fitting as a template,
mark the position of the fixing holes.
03. Secure the fitting in position using the
fixings supplied. If the fixings supplied are
not appropriate to your installation, select
suitable alternatives.
04. Make cable entry hole using an appropriate
hole cutter and drill out fixing points in back
of housing.
05. Pierce the rubber grommet(s) and thread
the mains supply cable through. Note, do not
make the holes in the grommets too large,
they should be tight on the cable to ensure a
good water-tight seal.
06. Thread the mains supply cable into the fitting
and fit the heat resistant sleeving over the
ends of the cable.
07. Make the mains terminations on the
lampholder (L) live and (N) neutral.

the cable entry(ies).

40W or suitable CFLi equivalent.
